Mommy DID deliver! This was not only my first read by Ab. Cynthe but my first retelling/adult parody and I was NOT disappointed. I love the Grinch, gore, and smut..

Like every non spoiler review stated.. I, too, did not expect that ending! Not fully, anyway. I knew Max was going to end up killing May-Martha but what I didn't expect was her to kill the Grouch! Not gonna lie, kinda made me sad AF 😭🤣. I do hope to read more from Ab. Cynthe and if she's gonna be writing more retellings in the future that "attempt" to ruin my childhood? I'm so here for it!

3.25/5 stars! I liked this book and the colored pages version was super pretty. But it had one of my major icks (cheating) and it took me out of the story. I did enjoy the "woman's wrath" and Max getting her revenge but it couldn't rescue me from a character we were supposed to cheer for cheating at the 11th hour.

When I heard about this book being a retelling of the Grinch I knew I had to read it.

First things first, WTF just happened??!! I am in love with Max and her psycho ass self. I wish there was so much more to the story but it was wonderfully written and the color pages are beautiful ❤️❤️

If you have not read a book from Ab. Cynthe you are in for a treat! She creates creepy, devilish and steamy books and I cannot get enough of them. All I can say is The Grinch is not the only “mean one” in the story!
I thought I knew what to expect and what type of story it would be…boy was I wrong! Many of the characters were nothing like I expected. The backstories of the characters and the characters themselves will shock you! The twist at the end just about unalived me!! OMG!! If you want more details you’ll have to read the book. You will not regret it and you’ll never look at The Grinch in the same way…
Thank you, Ab. Cynthe for another dark and twisted story. You are truly an artist when creating these worlds. This is why your books will forever be on my TBR list!

Mean One by AB Cynthe is a dark holiday novella. This book pure holiday gold. I have read it a few times now. It is based on “The Grinch” of course. I will say this is not your holiday cheerful type book, this is the Grinch and friends unhinged. A sweet morsel of a gift for any unhinged dark romance reader this holiday season.

Max is even quite crazy in this book. Adding to all the excitement the Grinch brings to town. This novella is a great holiday read. Saucy, crazy and loaded with grinchy holiday cheer. I definitely recommend it!

HOLY. CRAP. I knew what I was getting into when the author described it to me, but reading it is another thing. I definitely had to take a pause after the prologue and readjust my brain to NOT imagine the Grinch in any form or fashion. Once I was able to do that, I couldn't put this down. If you're looking for some holiday feel-good read with a HEA, put this down. Max...what can I say without giving too much away, other than to repeat, HOLY CRAP. She is absolutely unhinged and I gotta say, I was loving it. As they say, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

Her retellings are my favorite, and this was a treat for the holiday season! I really enjoyed reading this novella and the different twists on the characters we know and love.
I really enjoyed this spin on the grinch and I loved the little backstories and figuring out how things came to be for the Grinch & Max.
Didn't see that ending coming, but I loved it!

WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST READ. THAT ENDING?! I AM SCREAMING. Ab. Cynthe— my jaw is on the ground. I did NOT see that coming. This was so creative once again and I devoured this. There’s literally no words, I’m so shook from this read. There hasn’t been a book from this author that I haven’t loved! 😩🤌🏼

This is a Grinch reimagining with a huge twist! Max was a crazy woman, even though she wanted the Grinch's love. The Grinch created that monster when he hated Martha May. He flipped-flopped so much that it confused me sometimes too! It was a great story with loads of character development and story! The spice was wild! This is as close to monster smut as I have ever been!

I liked the concept, but the emotions and rage didn't hit right. Gore is ok, but the emotional build-up is non-existent, so when there are big emotional scenes, they don't land. Max is supposed to be crazy but I wasn't afraid of her the way I wanted to be. Ultimately, it's a shallow plot, gore fest of smutitude, which is maybe what you are looking for.
