My Off Limits Grumpy Professor

Rate this book
One look and I’m hooked. One touch, and I’m consumed.

I can’t resist my professor, even though she’s twenty years my senior, my next-door neighbor, and totally off-limits.

Moving home was supposed to be simple. But then I meet Dr. Camille Voss—fierce, guarded, and heartbreakingly gorgeous. She’s my professor, my neighbor, and everything I’m not supposed to want.

Every stolen glance and whispered conversation only pulls me deeper into the flames. She’s fighting it too—I can see the heat in her eyes as she struggles to stay professional. But the more we resist, the harder it becomes to stay away.

Getting involved with her could destroy us both. If word gets out, we’re both ruined—professionally and personally. But walking away is not an option.

Because our forbidden love grows stronger by the second, and now, all I want is to be hers, no matter the cost.

Nope. Not for me. Age gap stories are fine with me. I actually really enjoy them. This one, not so much. Sidney was a predator and I did not like her one bit. Jessi was 17 and a student the first time around. I almost DNF.

Creepy Premise

20 year older professor taught a young underage girl at some seminars. They ‘fell in love’ then on her 18th birthday, they consummated that ‘love’.

Reads like a groomer. Professor is a pedophile.

2 years later, she’s once again in a position of power and their ‘undeniable lust’ draws the two back together.

Read 1/5th of the book, it’s really not worth it.

It’s just creepy.

The tension in this book is so good from the very beginning! The library scene was so hot. I think it's a fantasy a lot of people have wanted to come true!

I love when Sidney opens up about realizing she was gay when she was younger, but felt like she had to lie about who she was to make her family happy. It's the story of a lot of later in life lesbians, or just women in general who feel too scared to come out for a multitude of reasons when they know their truth but are terrified of repercussions.

Falling in love and then being ripped apart because of horrible lies only made them stronger in the end. Such a cute age gap romance!

I’ve read so many amazing books in my lifetime but this one felt like it was written by a bad AI.

I read the reviews before I started it, and I still opted to give it a chance but it was basically glorifying pedophilia and made me so uncomfy in more ways than I can count.

I have a rule for myself that I have never, ever broken: After I’ve surpassed 50 pages of a book— I am not allowed to label it as a DNF, and if I dislike something sooner than 50 pages, I give myself until late 50 to decide if I will ACTUALLY close the novel and part ways with it.

I reached page 54 and broke my own rule for the first time literally ever.

Had to rate the book one star to be able to review. My rating is zero stars though. DNF at 13% ‘cause the ick simply intensified as I read further.

A grown adult woman in a sexual relationship with a teen (an eighteen-year-old) is already a firm no from me.

Add to this already questionable dynamic, a direct quote from the older woman in this book (who is said to be 20 years the younger woman’s senior) two years later:

“She’s an adult, full blown adult, and a sexy one at that.”

And one is left with an emphasised ??? with regard to why this book is acquiring such high ratings.

Why!!! I am so frustrated with how the author chooses to shift the direction of the story with frustrating narratives. I was actually enjoying this one after the last one but now this is one just pushed me to my end. I had hoped to read the few other books that I found on the Off Limits but just can't! The ending can't justify the story choice.

I liked it

It was a good story and well told. However, I really need someone to explain something to me. If both characters were feminine and described as wearing dresses and skirts often, why was Sydney wearing a suit at the wedding. I'm sorry, I just don't buy it

Second-chance

I'm not ashamed to admit that all these tropes drew me in. It was worth it. Also there was some nice little drama there at the end that shook things up a bit. Not bad for a quick read

Meh

This author must have many friends reviewing her books. For all the talk of peer reviews and the importance of editing, this book could have used more of it.

Different

This book was different then what I expected..I didn't except the characters to hook up as early they do in the story but it worked and was a good book.

Please no Virtual Voice

Virtual voice distracted from this story. The grammatical and flatness of the delivery undermined the story. I should have just read the book.

DNF

Couldn’t get down with the writing. It’s all over the place and very repetitive. Sex scenes written very poorly. DNF

Okay story.

It was good, okay-written love story with an age-gap and complicated student-professor relationship. In a book description says that one of the characters is Dr. Camille Voss which is not true. The main characters are a writer/professor Sidney Wagner and a student Jessica Holland. I was just surprised that it wasn’t the same name.

I enjoy reading age gap romances being in an age gap relationship myself however I fear I got bored of this storyline very fast. My problem is I don't like to not finish something, so I read it the whole way through.

Not for me but that's not saying not to give it a read, it may be your cup of tea.
