Jade Skye :-) wrote a good, solid book, and I enjoyed it as I have all the other books that I have read by her. However, this time I was disappointed to discover editing errors...pronouns left out and incomplete sentences. For plot, characters' development, enjoyment, complexity of plot...these are well done...I would say worthy of at least 4 stars. Unfortunately, proofreading is crucial.

Really? This is the tenth book in the series? I have to say Jaden Skye is persistent, if not a very good writer. Who read the previous nine crappy books (if they were as bad as this one)? It was free on Bookbub, and worth every penny. The characters are all paper cutouts. There must be a book of cliches or idioms - and Jaden's copy is well worn. There isn't any glue left in the cut-and-paste bottle.

Poorly written, everything is over explained and repeated ad nauseum.......free on Bookbub, and as someone said--worth every penny!! Can't believe this is a long series; it wasn't even just a "fun" read!

Improved

A definite improvement on the last few books I’ve read in this series.
Typos absent and proof reading done properly, which has been a major bugbear.

The problem I have with the series is that Cindy thinks she knows better than seasoned professionals and invariably she is right because that’s how the author fixes the story even if her thoughts and actions are bizarre and reckless.
But the sychopancy over how wonderful she is just annoys me. She also treats Matheus quite badly and whilst the author continues to push their relationship in reality both would have run a mile by now.

The story itself is quite good even if the twists and turns are quite contrived and laboured.

I did enjoy this book much more than the previous few in the series but I’m. It sure it’s enough to make me invest beyond the one remaining book that I have in my library in this series.

There are really no words for this “book”. I understand that it is the 10th book in a series, but I don’t have to read the first nine to know that these characters suck.

The detective work is abysmal. There is no way any of the people they “interviewed” during their investigation would have talked to them... ever. Their techniques were juvenile and unprofessional.

Speaking of unprofessional... no police force would allow the sister of a murder victim to help them investigate. That isn’t even lawful! Ugh. I skimmed the last 40% just hoping for something redeeming. I should have quit while I was ahead.

Amazing

Mystery upon mystery, who killed Ann, why and what is everyone hiding? Why won't the family help and why can't they share their grief. Why keep blaming Cindy. A true page turned from the very beginning!

good murder mystery.

I like the location. I like the fact that they had so many different twists, and turns nobody could figure out who had done the murder.

Anybody who cares for these kind of stories would like this one.

This is definitely one of the better books in the series. Murder hits close to home for Cindy once again. So close, that I literally said out loud, "Whaaaat?"

Cindy and Matteus agree to part ways and Cindy flies home only to find another mystery on her doorstep. This time it involves her sister and husband, while Matteus is trying to develop a relationship with his estranged daughter.

Another good book in the series.

Mysterious Caribbean Case

Cindy and Mattheus were partner's who owned C & M Investigation, and in perfect sync while working their cases for a lucrative business solving many tough cases, mostly in the Caribbean. In addition, they became lovers but Cindy wasn't sure if it would progress any further. Her sister, Ann and she were close now but Ann really wanted Cindy to quit the business and take a safer job, and perhaps meet someone not in that type of dangerous business.Cindy wanted to talk with Ann more, but Ann was leaving for Bermuda on vacation, which was a spur of the moment trip planned by her husband, Frank, which made Cindy wonder if everything with them was O. K.

A call of help the next night from Frank begging her to come to Bermuda had Cindy flying there immediately. Should see call Mattheus to help her with her family emergency? Would he leave his daughter and former lover behind? Quick moving suspense story in the Caribbean and not knowing who could be trusted keeps the reader looking for

This book was free in the iBooks store so I gave it a shot. It was nice to read a mystery. I don't like being able to guess the plot and usually I don't but this time it was inevitable for some reason. The twist simply wasn't unexpected, but I still enjoyed reading the book. While it was a book about adults it was nice to not have it littered with profanity and salacious details about stuff I don't really want to read. There was a sprinkling of romance and while sweet enough, it wasn't the focus. I might read more from this series in the future.

Terrible

This book was terribly written! Characters were not developed, plot was poor & slow. The author treated the readers like bunch of idiots by explaining what every word meant, or by leaving nothing to be inferred by the reader. There were so many typos made on this Kindle edition that it made it difficult to read. Incorrect character's names were also used in the wrong places! A very poor read. I would have given it negative stars if I could have!

Another great story with a totally unsuspected twist!

Jaden has done it again! No spoiler alert, but such intrigue, crime and detective work! Keeps you picking up the book every minute you have a chance to do so. Then you find yourself making those chances happen on purpose. The story sucks you in right away and is like the drain in the bottom of a spa--once you are caught, it doesn't want to let you go! Enjoy your trip to Bermuda again!

Very Poorly Written! The plot and setting of this book are good, but that's about all I can recommend. The writing is so amateurish it made me uncomfortable and there are so many grammatical editing errors, the reader has to fill in words to make sense of it. The price was right - free, but it was not worth my time.

Really enjoyed it

I actually really enjoyed this book. Finished it in a day and didn't want to put it down. The reason it only got 3 stars was due to the many grammatical errors, misspelled words, and missing words thorough the whole story. It needs to be better edited. But it was a great read from the free book section.

I downloaded the Kindle version of this book in return for a review.
This was a fun mystery, with some difference in that it is set in the Caribbean. Have to feel sorry for this poor character though, as the author first killed off her husband and now her sister, but with the help of the local police and her detective partner and while dealing with her family, she finds the killer.

A little revision and editing would have gone a long way toward making Death by Betrayal more readable. The book is filled with misused words, misplaced punctuation, and grammatical errors. The story is pretty good but has no subplots or plot complications.

Cindy and Mattheus have parted ways. Cindy goes home, Mattheus stays in the Caribbean with his daughter and her mother. Cindy's sister, Ann, goes to the Caribbean with her husband and gets murdered, which brings Cindy and Mattheus back together to solve the crime.

If you are looking for a fast and easy read, this series is good exactly for that. At times the books seem a little redundant but nonetheless theyare entertaining and enjoyable.

Good, but I would have preferred it if Ann had called Cindy to Bermuda to help solve the murder of Frank. It's sad that Ann had to die.

A good mystery set in Bemruda. You can't help but like the main character and cheer for her to succeed at the same time you are feeling sorry for her.
