Double the Rom-Com #1

Two Times the Trouble

Rate this book
I didn’t want one fake boyfriend, but somehow I got tangled up with two!

My ex cheated me out of my savings, my car took early retirement, and my mother was threatening to disown me if I didn't find a date for my sister's high-profile wedding.

Enter handsome, wisecracking out-of-towner, Max.

Alternately friendly and standoffish, he initially rubbed me the wrong way, but now he's giving me looks that make me wish he’d rub me in all the right ways, if you know what I mean!

Sure, he's a delicious piece of eye candy, but men can’t be trusted, and there's something about him that doesn't add up.

Still, I'm out of options, and apparently, the world will end if my mom doesn't get a name for the place cards right this minute, so when Max offers to be my pretend-boyfriend, I agree.

But it turns out his offer is a two-for-one deal. Max has an identical twin, Miles, and wouldn't it be hilarious, they say, if the two of them switch places throughout the multi-day wedding festivities, and act like they’re the same man?

Unfortunately, they're charming enough to talk me into going along with their silly prank … and their love of secrets doesn't stop there.

Max is clever and flirty, and makes me feel like the only woman in the room. Miles can be grumpy and stubborn, but has a tender, caring side that melts my heart. We have a lot of fun together, especially in the privacy of the room we're all sharing—two times the fun!

But just when I start to wonder if our fake and somewhat unconventional three-way relationship could be something real, I find out the men I'm falling for have a hidden motive.

And they're about to bring much more trouble into my life than I can handle!

Two Times the Trouble is a spicy rom com with the smoldering heat of a fake relationship (times two!) and a why-choose style happily ever after.

This spicy rom-com was a delightful surprise. The story revolves around a woman who, needing a date for her sister's wedding, ends up fake-dating not one guy, but identical twins.

The premise is fun and executed with a good balance of humor and heat. The twins, Max and Miles, have distinct personalities that add depth to the story. While the plot isn't groundbreaking, it's an enjoyable, light-hearted read that doesn't take itself too seriously. Perfect for when you're in the mood for something fun and steamy.

I really enjoyed the storyline. I think it was a sweet read overall.
It was filled with family antics, bits of humor, drama, tension and a little spice.
We also got just a bit of mystery about who or what the brothers really were.

I really liked Callie. She was sweet, funny, and an overall relatable FMC.
Miles and Max, balanced each other out well and fit Callie perfectly.
I really enjoyed seeing the relationship between her and the brothers develop. It seemed natural and genuine. While there wasn't a lot of spice, it fit well with the plot.

It was a great palette cleanser for me. I loved the characters, it made me smile, and left we with a HEA!

okay but the Sandwich shop am I right?

Okay the sandwich shop was such a funny add to have. Loved the build up on this but storyline and connections were lacking for me. I did in joy the cute comedic read though and great tie up in the end!

Callie is getting over a rough break-up. No one knows what her now ex-Fiancé did to her. Her sister is getting married and now her mom is pressuring her to bring a date. Callie is determined to focus only on herself. She’s working 2 jobs and putting her life back together. She meets Miles when he comes into her morning yoga class. He’s grumpy and she decides it’s best to keep clear. While working her second job, she meets Max. Only she think a it the guy from her yoga class. Mac OS immediately taken with her and asks her out. Over dinner, she tells Max about her mother pressuring her to bring a date. Max offers to be her fake date, but with a twist. He introduces Callie to his brother Miles, and proposes that they both go and swap places as they pose as her date. Turns out, the brothers have some interest in this particular wedding. Along the way they get closer to Callie and Callie grows closer to the brothers. When the brother’s secret comes out, will Callie be able to forgive them. Will she be able to let go of the past in order to see the future that Max and Miles want with her?

I loved this story. It was a fun, easy read.

Max and Miles are identical but have different personalities, which causes confusion at first, but later on makes it easier to tell them apart and also helps Callie fall for each one separately rather than as a pair.

The guys worked well at switching places. I'm surprised Callie went along so easily with them both attending the wedding as it added some problems, but she went with the flow, probably because she was also a pushover with her mother.

I would have loved to have seen more of them together before they get to the wedding, I think I would have seen them fall for each other better, rather than along with the chaos of the wedding.

There is definitely chemistry between them all, and things get very steamy!

The wedding doesn't quite end the way it was planned and the guys have some serious apologising to do, not just to Callie but also her sister and mother. So kind of a 3rd act breakup with lots of grovelling.

Aunt Iris was the star of the book, she needed more 'screen' time!

The epilogue was a really good ending for the trio.

- forced proximity
- fake relationship
- rh (twin mmc's)

I’m always eager to get my hands on new releases from this author because her stories are so engaging and addictive. This is no different!

At first glance, the premise of this story seems clear, but as I delved deeper into the pages, I became increasingly curious about the twins’ behaviors and motives. The storyline and the chemistry between the three characters immediately drew me in. Miles, who appears grumpy on the outside, Max, who effortlessly exudes charisma, and Callie, whose persona is sweet and genuine. While it may have a little less heat than some of her other works, it’s still equally enjoyable.

Just like with this author’s other stories, I read this one in one sitting and loved how things unfolded for the characters. Although there were moments of heartache, their journey towards a happily ever after aligned with my hopes and expectations.

I recommend this author this book, and anything from her catalog of creative and addictive works. I received a complimentary copy of this book, and happily leave my review.

This was a really good book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Callie who is a yoga instructor, she is surprised when a good-looking man joins her lessons. He seems like he is grumpy, but she is happy to have a look at with how good looking he is and the sexy body that he shows. Little does she know, that good looking man Miles, also has a twin who is identical to him and she meets him in her second job as a shop assistant in a sandwich bar. When her mother keeps nagging at her to get a date for the wedding of her sister, Max comes to her rescue and offers to be her date… what follows is a comedy of actions and also a lot of sexy times between the three of them. When things go wrong at her sister’s wedding, Miles and Max are in the middle of it all along with the grooms father. I enjoyed the interaction between the characters and the sense of mystery before the final reveal at the wedding reception. There is a happy ending for these three as well as a baby on the way.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.

Callie's sister is getting married, and her mother is pushing her to bring a date to the wedding. After her ex cheated her out of her savings, she has no desire to date again. Keeping busy at a sandwich shop and teaching yoga, Callie really doesn't have time. Enter Miles, he joins her yoga class and immediately catches her attention, however he is quiet and broody. Not really talking to anyone before or after class. But when she gets to her next job, "Miles" walks in and appears to not recognize her. Finding out that it isn't Miles, but his twin Max. When she tells the brothers about the wedding, Max comes up with a plan that both brothers will go as her date and they will switch off. Callie is unsure of this plan, but they get to know each other and she feels that they could maybe pull it off. Not knowing that the brother's have ulterior motives for wanting to be at this wedding. The perfect plan, two brothers, one room... you know this is going to be fun. This was so much fun to read and now one of my favorites by this author!

I love this one from beginning to end!!
Our girl is a yoga instructor. A man walks into the class that is MOSTLY women. He is fresh meat for everyone! He is the whole eye candy package!! The best way to describe what happens next is just HOT!!! He doesn't know what to do, so our girl gets to touch him, and move his body around to get him in the right place. I WAS JEALOUS! The rest of the book is is amazing and left me wondering what was going to happen. After seeing him at first at the yoga class, she runs into him (lor his twin?) at a food stand. When I read this part, I was thinking that maybe it was his twin, because sometimes people who LOVE yoga are health conscience, but I'm into yoga and my diet is HORRIBLE!

There was no a bad part of this book. I would read this one over and over and never get sick of it. This is in my top 5 of books.

Dealing with the Pruitt twins must be like having a relationship with Jekyll and Hyde, except that Max and Miles really are two separate people! It boggles the mind how polar opposite their personalities seem, and yet whenever they switch places, Miles plays Max to a tee that in Callie's shoes, I would get whiplash!

Then there is the added element of intrigue ... what are these twins up to? It obviously has nothing to do with Callie and everything to do with the family her sister is marrying into. I was dreading the part where all is revealed. Hearts will get broken, feelings will get hurt, and misunderstandings will abound.

I'd recommend this book, if only because it is different from most of Stephanie Brother's stories, and yet it still hooked me! I think you should give it a shot as well. :)

Callie is getting prepared to go to her sister’s wedding. It’s supposed to be a weekend long affair and her mom is a Mom-zilla working double time to make sure this wedding the event of the century. There’s just one hiccup, slight hiccup. Callie doesn’t have a date for the wedding. And her mom is not having that. So enter Max, they met while Callie was working at the sandwich shop. Coincidentally, his twin Miles attends her yoga class. So max and Miles offer to be her date. Twins as a wedding date? Whatever will people think? No worries, they opt to pull the old high school switcheroo prank and have Miles pretend to be Max on certain occasions. It’s double the fun but also double the trouble. It’s fun and lighthearted and a really great read that I stayed up way too late just finish it. There’s also a little bonus mystery tied in and it was so fun to read!

DNF 65% don’t re-read this future me. this book was annoying to read. It doesn’t feel like she has a lot of chemistry when BOTH guys are in the room. When you have separate scenes of Max and Miles with her, you can clearly read the chemistry. But it’s weird to invite one guy to cuddle while the other was supposed to just ..sit there in the same room the entire night? That’s not rh, my dudettes. I’m also annoyed at how much of a doormat she is with her family and I’m not seeing a lot of character growth there. Like girl your ex did something horrible (or eluded to something horrible happened to cause the breakup and we haven’t even found out the reason for it and she already went and warn her ex gf but like with cryptic messages??) and you can’t be upfront with your family and im now 64% in and it’s taking entirely too long

Secret twin switcheroo with a hot yoga teacher

I need to first start off that this shouldn't be labeled exactly as a rom-com. There wasn't anything that funny at all except for Ana's reference to smut which was funny and relatable but other than that, not much comedy except from Max and his flirtatious comments in the beginning (the flirtatious comments continue-no worries.)
Aside from that, this was a great contemporary reverse harem with a lot of suspense! Which I was surprised about and eager to find out.
Definitely recommend this read although... It's one hell of a slow burn. With NO tension, angst or any high amount of anticipation expressed to make it absolutely WORTH the slow burn.

Another fantastic book! After reading so many Stephanie Brother books I knew this book would be amazing like the rest but I wasn't sure what else could be done to make something new and exciting.

Wow, I am so glad I got the chance to read this story, it was fun with a side of mystery and had some brilliant one liners that actually made me laugh out loud. There are so many things I can say about the characters and plot of this story but I will leave you to discover this yourself when you dive into this story.
Highly recommend this story for anyone that likes humour, sexual tension and double the fun!

Stephanie Brother has another winner! When Callie decides that life alone is the way she’s destined to live she’s gung ho to keep going. Having her ❤️ broken by her ex, she's working two jobs to stay afloat and working to make her sisters wedding all that she ever wanted. Oh my, a hunk shows up for her yoga class and the games begin. Little does she know that there are two identical hunks and they offer to help her with her sisters wedding events. When they all least expect it they catch feelings but reality steps in and her ❤️ gets broken again. Is Fate a fickled witch or will she push Callie to be more than she could ever be?

You know what really bothers me in books? When the heroine has a shitty ex and she goes on and on about how awful of a boyfriend he was and how he was bad in bed. I'm like "Girl if that was the case why did you stay with him?"
Besides that I really enjoyed the story. I'm a sucker for any romance that has twins and if they switch places it's even better. I loved how they worshipped her. And the book had the right amount of suspense to keep me interested. The shitty ex wasn't that important in the end to remove a star but I had to mention it because it bothers me.

I really liked Two Times the Trouble a lot! It was entertaining, I loved Callie as an FMC, and her men were so much fun in the switching scheme. This was a lot of fun to read!

I had a lot of sympathy for Callie, both with her problems with Rick in the past and the issues with Max and Miles in the third act breakup. I could definitely see her point of view with how jaded she was with romance from her experiences, and that gave her character another layer for me.

Stephanie is always a good read for me, and I'm looking forward to what she comes out with next!

What a fun, exciting, sexy, hilarious and so much more read. Twin brother who she meets one at a time. Goes to dinner with one of them and he volunteers to be her fake date to her sister's wedding. She has a streak of very bad luck with several things right before meeting them. He agrees to be her fake date to the wedding as her mom won't leave her alone until she has one. It only gets better and hotter from there. I highly recommend it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.

Cute x Two?

This was a nice palate cleanser of a book. Maybe that’s not the most flattering of comments, but I mean it in the very best way. Great FMC who has gone through some trauma with her ex, only to need a date to her sister’s wedding because her mom is a massive momster. The guys try to be noble, try to resist, but all I can say is give me twins like that, or at least someone tell me how I can clone my husband because he is pretty great. I can see how 2 might be even better. The side characters are great…thank you Aunt Iris!

Loved it & love a book that makes me giggle ☺️
Story was cute and balanced. Loved the suspense of finding out who the brothers were. interesting concept with their “coupling” but I was down for it.
Callie (Fmc) was sweet and likeable and the mmcs were also sweet/charismatic/grumpy and suited her well even though I was skeptical by how great they were.
My last guess of who they were before the reveal was clones 😅 with how they had silent communication, agreed on things involving the both of them, acted in unison. LOL

Disappointed with the cover. Not really how I picture the brothers..

This is a slow burn romance with some suspense and intrigue. A bit different from other Stephanie Brother books I've read and I LOVED it! This book had it all and I really didn't want it to end. The characters are all wonderfully crafted. The story is well thought out. The world building is really well done. The smexy times were hot! Max gave me quite a few giggles. Definitely a 5 star read! Loved it!

Lots of trouble — and laughter!

Laughed out loud several times when reading this book. Aunt Iris is my favorite; I’ll leave it to the reader to discover her. As always, the reader will find romance, steam, interesting characters, excellent writing style, great editing and a surprising twist. I picked up on the hints that not all characters were as they seemed, but actual was a surprise.

Can’t wait for next book in series!

This book actually had me laughing out loud. Callie’s confusion at the beginning and how Max just plays along when she thinks he’s Miles was priceless. Despite sounding like a typical fake dating relationship, the twins are quite adapt at changing places and there is an unexpected twist that will definitely flying through the pages. Secrets can only stay hidden for so long. Overall the book is a great, fun read. Wait until you meet her Aunt, she is awesome!

Not the twist I thought was going to happen.

Two times the trouble but everything isn't what it seems. Two different men. One reserved and grumpy and one fun and smiling. But she thinks they are the same men. Until she meets both. Trouble ensues at her sister's wedding with her ex, her sisters new father in law and her mother of the bride zilla. A great book with a twist. Loved it all.

Callie is a yoga teacher and a gorgeous man called Miles joins her group. An upcoming wedding. A nagging mother. Needs a date and Miles offers. A resort. What? Twins? Feelings. Lies. And a beautiful love. The author has knocked it out of the park with this one. Not what she usually writes but this is a winner.

When things go wrong, as they always do, expect the unexpected. Miles and Max (identical twins) just love pranks and are most willing to perpetuate the myth of switching identities. Callie's willingness to go along with this during her sister's wedding makes for some very funny moments. And, of course, a HEA.

Two Times The Trouble, by Stephanie Brother @stephaniebrotherbooks. I love Stephanie’s books & this one was so good!

I loved this book about Callie, Max & Miles! This was a great mix of rom-com & in my opinion a bit of mystery. You know the drill! If you like MFM, twins 🥵🥵🥵, fake relationship, twin switching, & the FMC’s sister’s wedding, then you will love this book!

What a great story about Max, Miles and Callie. Callie meets Miles first at yoga and then Max at the sandwich shop not knowing they are twins. They decide to fake date her for her sister's wedding. The wedding shenanigans cracked me up. I was invested to see what exactly the brother's were up to. The storyline was just perfect and left me with all the feels. What a great story
