Despite his polished facade and irresistible passion, Alysa Leighton is wary of her love for the dashing Royalist Sir Philip Hamilton, whom she fears is a ruthless spy bent on betraying her family. Original.
I received a free copy from eBookDiscovery; this is my honest review. 4 stars. I had a hard time at the beginning because there were too much details of the family's downfall from the Revolution: too many details too many times of their environment or how they dressed (OK! we know they are now poor, we get it!). When I was at the second or third chapter, I decided to just hop over those kind of details, so I was in for good. The story flows well from POV to POV and from chapter to chapter. There were two allegiances in the story; some were also changing sides when hearing, really hearing the other person's POV; some people were respected and some not. I guess it all depends how you bring about what you think, just like in real life. A lot of seduction for the time of the story (medieval) but appreciated by the reader! The story was funny, engaging, had a bit of suspense at the end, with a few twists, of course.
