You'll Find It All Still Here

Rate this book
An emotional trip down memory lane, author Lisa Greenwald’s playful second-chance romance is perfect for anyone who grew up reading her middle-grade books or spent fervent summers away at camp.

Successful event planner Mira Erdman never expected to see Brush Hill Camp again. But these days, the old sleepaway camp in the Berkshires offers “adult” experiences for New York’s twenty-something Jewish singles. And Mira’s Bubbie knows it’s the perfect place for her granddaughter to find love.

Since losing her mom, Mira has basically given up on dating. But for Bubbie’s sake—and with best friend Josie at her side—she’s resigned to giving grown-up camp a try. The beer garden and coed cabins are wild, though not enough to stop the flood of old memories. And when her onetime camp crush turns up, Mira’s teenage anxieties threaten to resurface…along with a rush of other feelings.

Rooted in nostalgia, You’ll Find It All Still Here weaves together themes of friendship, community, and family. Mira’s soulmate may be out there, but she’ll have to learn to love and accept herself first, with the help of those she holds dearest.

A long bio can be kind of boring, so instead I'm going to pretend
that a famous journalist (maybe Barbara Walters) is interviewing me.
The only thing is, I'm making up the questions.
If you think of any other questions you'd like me to answer, send me an email and ask away!

Q. Where did you grow up?
A. I lived in Fairfield, Connecticut until the end of fifth grade and then I moved to Roslyn Heights, New York. That's on Long Island. But I don't have a bad Lawn Guyland accent, I promise.

Q. Do you have any siblings?
A. Yes, I have two younger brothers. I always wanted a sister, but it's kind of nice being the only daughter in the family, and my brothers and I are really close.

Q. What about the rest of your family? Are you close with them too?
A. Yes, family is really important to me. I talk to my parents and grandparents every day.

Q. Are you married?
A. Yes, to a fabulous guy named Dave. We met at sleep away camp when I was sixteen.

Q. Do you have any kids?
A. Yes, my daughter Aleah Violet Rosenberg was born on May 28th, 2010 and I personally think she's the cutest baby in the world, but of course I am biased.

Q. Do you have any pets?
A. I had a miniature toy poodle named Yoffi, but he died in 2007. I miss him so much.

Q. That's sad. Do you think you will get another dog?
A. I would love to adopt one very soon!

Q. What is your favorite book?
A. Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt is my favorite book in the whole entire world. I read it in sixth grade in Ms. Mayer's class. I have read many books since then, but Tuck Everlasting is still my absolute favorite.

Q. What is your favorite movie?
A. I have two. Clueless and Avalon.

Q. What's one of the craziest things that's ever happened to you?
A. I won a radio contest at the end of eighth grade! Someone from Z100 called me up and asked me to say the "phrase that pays" and I answered correctly. I won a thousand dollars.

Q. Did you always want to be a writer?
A. No, not always. I wanted to be a hair stylist, then a concert pianist, then a rabbi. But I always loved making up stories, so I think writing is the perfect job for me.

Q. Where did you go to college?
A. I went to Binghamton University in upstate New York. I was an English major with a concentration in creative writing. It's reallllllllly cold in Binghamton. Then two years after I graduated college, I went to The New School to get my MFA in writing for children.

Q. You mentioned that you met Dave at sleep away camp. Did you really like sleep away camp?
A. YES! I loved it. I went to Eisner Camp in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. I would go back to camp forever if only I could. Sleep away camp is the best place in the world.

Q. Tell me some other things you really like.
A. Okay. Here's a short list: sleeping late, fancy hotels, reading and writing (duh!,) peanut m&ms, flip flops, sweatpants, people watching, New York City, cheese omelets, weddings, pedicures, looking at old pictures and re-reading old cards and letters.

Q. Tell me some things you really dislike.
A. Peas, mean people, rats and mice, sweating, pants and skirts with a side zipper, spicy food, uncomfortable shoes, people clipping their nails on the subway, feeling lonely or thinking about other people who might feel lonely.

Q. MY LIFE IN PINK & GREEN is about a pharmacy. Do you really like pharmacies?
A. Yes, I love them! I love the way they smell and the way the aisles are arranged. I love when the pharmacists know the customers and I love looking at all the beauty products.

Q. Do you write every day?
A. I try to, but in addition to writing I also work in the library at The Birch Wathen Lenox School in Manhattan. I love being around kids and books and talking to kids about books!

Q. I don't have any more questions. Is there anything else you'd like to add?
A. Just that I hope readers like my book, and I'd love to hear from all of them if they want to talk to me!

Cute, easy read but there is ZERO chance you could convince me those characters were 29 yos. The way everyone talked, thought, and acted was like I was reading a book about 8 yos. Literally almost DNFed 20% in because of this and would have if it wasn't such an easy read.

This was…okay. A cutesy little romance but also very juvenile? I had a really hard time buying into the characters being almost 30 years old, they read more like middle schoolers and that’s not an exaggeration. I appreciated the serious conversations around grief and loss. But overall it was just sort of meh, I feel as if this reads more like a YA book.
Also it’s this weird sort of in-between of a closed door/fade-to-black romance, but also not?

Cute fun read

Not being Jewish I was googling many of the Yiddish sayings which did not detract me. I enjoyed this silly little story

Disappointing read!! It had potential but the fact that these 29 year olds acted no older than 15 the entire time was just ridiculous! So much insta love & absolutely no depth!

I think everyone who went to summer camp as a kid dreams about going back as an adult. Thanks to Lisa Greenwald for making it happen through this book!! This was such a fun read and I am really hoping for a book two 🤞

A book that will make you long for sleep away camp

While this book really only span from a Thursday to a Sunday, I felt like I’d known Mira , Josie , Noah , Sammy and of course bubbie, forever. Cheesy and nostalgic , will make you think of the good old days at camp and the thrill of having a crush. A great read!

A sweet neurotic story

The character could be any one of us who have self doubt and anxiety. Even if we have cheerleaders it still takes us to realize our greatness.

NOT for adults

Trigger warning for anyone who lost a close loved one especially recently. The main character of the book talks endlessly about the loss of her mother.

To be completely fair I only read just over half. I feel I gave it more than a fair chance.
Spice level 🌶️ I'd actually give it half of a chilly pepper. There's no chemistry building, no verbal foreplay so to speak, no build up of any tension whatsoever. It's just flat. "Then they did sex and it was great". Okay that's not a quote but it felt that boring. I understand that not everyone reads romantic novels for explicit sex but sex is a HUGE part of this non sexy book.

The whole book feels like it was written by a teenager. Turns out the author writes for teens and tweens and this is her first book for adults with characters that are almost 30 years old. Well, sad to say it feels like a poorly written YA novel with sexual themes. The characters read like 18-22 year olds.

The conversations were insufferably simplistic and nearly every conversation with the main characters best friend is too looooong and uninteresting.

The main male character that the MFC is obsessed with isn't remotely interesting either. She seems like she was into his looks and that's about it. He seems nice but (spoiler ahead) when they first got together he was cheating on his girlfriend and she didn't care at all. Then in current time he's five minutes out of a very serious relationship and neither seems to care about that either.

I have lots of other nitpicking about the book but I'll just leave it there. If you're Jewish you might have a fondness for this book. It would be very nostalgic especially if you went to summer camp. Just keep in mind to only expect a pretty simplistic story with simplistic dialogue for the most part.

Unfortunately, this book was utterly ridiculous. It really felt like it was written by a 15 year old girl. Not one, but two characters falling madly in love with someone after spending 2 days together. Miri was annoying and we never truly get to know Noah. Maybe I just didn’t appreciate it because I never went to a Jewish summer camp but I couldn’t wait for the book to be over as I was reading it. My eyes hurting from rolling them so many times. Luckily, it was a quick read.

This was marketed as an adult second chance rom-com but it was just too immature for me to finish reading. When I got to 50% I even tried to skim the rest to at least see how it ended but the silliness and immaturity never let up. I just couldn't read another page.

Main character Mira Erdman goes back to the summer camp of her teen years at the urging of her Bubbie (Jewish grandmother), who is hoping Mira will make a romantic connection at this reunion for twenty-somethings.

Mira and her best friend Josie sign up for a co-ed cabin, and one of the other bunkmates turns out to be Mira’s longtime camp crush. The insecurities, the sexual/hormonal urges, the bikinis and make-out sessions are better suited to a younger character and a younger reader. I couldn’t relate to the immaturity of the characters and didn’t have the patience to waste my time.

Points for the fun concept of a Jewish sleep-away camp reunion but for the reasons above, I can’t recommend this one. Thanks to Amazon Prime for the opportunity to try it out.

An easy read

Coming of age and going to the same church camp that you attended for years as a youngster, except this time as a counselor. This was a light read for bedtime and I chuckled at a few things. My school district did a five day sleepaway camp for 6th graders for years, and I was lucky enough to also go as a counselor as a junior and senior in high school. Boys did not serve as counselors so we didn't have overnight encounters but we consumed our share of alcohol and had a blast. And most everything was the same as when I went as a kid.

DNF at 50%. These characters are acting so immature for 29 year olds and the tone is so physically focused that I’m deciding this one is not for me. It is a little of too much too fast. While Noah and Mira have some past history as teenagers, we are less than 12 hours into this story and stuff is already happening.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the gifted audiobook. The thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

Content Notes: Open door scenes; strong language

Good for the camp nostalgia but I would have liked more depth (and i like/expect more spice when I'm reading a romance) - also, Bubbie was WAY too over the top. Loved her character but Mira needed to tell her to stop calling! Should have had BOTH FMCs put their phones away for the weekend, not just one....

As someone who’s Jewish, I really wanted to love this one for all of its little references. Unfortunately the writing was just repetitive and whiny. No one calls their friends “my love” or “my darling” six times in a five minute conversation. It just became annoying so quickly that I’m DNF’ng with no regrets.

Some of the most immature characters I have ever read about. They acted like this was a YA novel yet were somehow in their late twenties. Also I didn’t care about this three day situationship/fling, was expecting more of a mutual pining vibe but I guess that’s my fault for being misled by the summary.

Magic. For anyone that went to camp, loves camp or is a camp parent. The entire camp bubble is complete magic. Home run! I loved it.

Honestly kind of weird how obsessed this 29 year old girl was with a guy she knew from camp when she was 16 or 17

Disappointed. I got the book for free from Amazon as my August prime membership new book choice. I picked it because I am Jewish and I’m from the northeast and I went to camp and then became a counselor. I absolutely loved camp. I am now in my 60s and I have so many memories of the good and bad times, which are all a part of growing up.
I became disenchanted with the book right away as the main character, who was 29 years old, seemed so unsure of herself, had so many negative feelings about camp and just seemed bleh. I know she lost her mom and dad but she also had a great, but ridiculously overwhelming relationship with her bubbe. I think it could have been so much more with a different main character. I honestly didn’t feel for her at all. So sorry
Here’s to a book about someone loving camp and all of the experiences that went along with it…from a different main character!

in reality a two star book because the characters acted like pre-teens and not 29 year olds and the bubbie was waaaaayyy too involved in her life but kinda loved it too for all of the references and the most classically jewish names of characters

Kindle. A fine story. Mira returns to a summer camp for a long weekend as an adult; she has just lost her mother and her bubbie (grandma) has arranged for this adventure. The young people all seemed to act a bit more juvenile than I would expect 29 year olds to but I’ve never been to a sleep-away camp so who knows.

This was such a fun read for me!!! As a former camp kid I just loved all the references to all things camp. The relationship between Mira and Bubie was so sweet and I just loved it. All the Yiddish and Hebrew made the story familiar to me in a really special way. Great book!!!

Revisit summer camp as an adult

Super fun summer read about an adults weekend at summer camp. There is romance, comedy, conflict and mechanical bull riding.
