Just like in any other book, a playboy meets his match.

Weston was a rich kid, but not a spoiled brat. His father wants him to take care of the family's company, but Weston doesn't want it. In fact, he doesn't even know what he truly wants in life; he felt like he was in such a limbo, and his past lovers saw him as an ATM, and he let himself be treated that way by them.

It was lust at first sight when he saw Cade because Cade was totally different from the type he usually gets, and it piqued his interest. They started on the wrong foot, but when the misunderstanding was all cleared up, it was smooth sailing from then on.

Cade sees him, his vulnerability, his insecurities, and all his flaws, and he finally finds what he has been looking for: stability with someone dear beside him while he manages his family's company.

The following book will be about Dawson and his nemesis, Nolan Harding, who looked like Harry Potter, said Cade.

Small town romance and opposites attract for the win. Throw in a little handsome stranger vibe and you’ve got a recipe for a good book. It may depend on whether you’re into a bit of insta-love or not as to whether you like or love this book though, and I have to declare I struggle with insta-love a tad which is possibly what I felt could have been a dynamic that could have been strengthened a bit more here.

Individually the two main characters were pretty great, and collectively easy to invest in as the book went on. A very bingeable, enjoyable read.

Thanks to Book Sirens for flagging the series!

[dnf @ 45%] i can't stand the writing structure, find it really weird... the "specially pick out" self-question and self-answer plus internal monologue just doesn't make sense to me.

for example:
But I hadn’t seen Mitch or Dawson since Bill and I broke up right before Christmas...

Who breaks up right before Christmas?

Worst holiday movie ever...

.
.
I was both aggravated at the fact that the firefighter knew me so well, and offended that Dawson didn’t think that was precisely my idea of a good time.

I just wish I didn’t have to do it alone.
.
.
Guess I don’t have to worry about that anymore.
.
.
I rolled my eyes again at Dawson’s tone, running my hand over my face and let out a deep sigh.

I knew without a doubt that I wouldn’t say no, because whether I liked it or not, Dawson was right.

I need to get out, to get myself back on track and put Billiard-No-Brains behind me.
.
.

i totally don't understand the "italics" sentences or phrases. i mean since it is specially set apart from the main paragraph, you would expect it to be something that is worth highlighting or have a great impact on the sequential events etc. but... there was nothing... nothing at all... it was just plain complaining, whining blah blah blah... and throughout the 45% i read, this kind of lame shit lines constantly pop-up in between paragraphs.

so i gave up because i don't really enjoy this kind of execution, so not worth my time...

Another of Eve Riley's MM stories that she writes so well.

Cade Green was recovering from a broken relationship, he loved his job as a veterinary technician and he loved his sleepy hometown of Jasper Creek, but he was lonely.

At a karaoke night at a local bar, Cade was persuaded to sing a duet with a ruggedly handsome stranger, a stranger who stood out with his designer suit and shiny shoes, it was a night that Cade would never forget.

Weston Rhodes lived in the city and no amount of cajoling from his parents would make him return to Jasper Springs, the town where his family business was based, the town where he had grown up, the town that he couldn't wait to leave.

Weston's father dearly wanted Weston to return to his home town and take over as CEO of the family company, why did Weston kick against the idea ?

Weston was on a flying visit to Jasper Springs to attend a charity fundraising event sponsored by the family company, he wanted it over and done with quickly, that was until he saw the attractive man at the vet stand cuddling a tiny kitten……..the man from the karaoke bar.

This story is about two very different people from very different back grounds, each fighting their own very different demons, the attraction was instant, would Cade be just another string to Weston's bow, would hard hitting Weston give up the life that he loved in the city to be with gentle, thoughtful Cade.

An enjoyable read. I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.

"Cade" offers an enticing blend of MM romance, small-town charm, and the allure of opposites attracting. As a reader delving into the market, I was drawn to its promise of healing a broken heart, a billionaire love interest, and the dynamic of a bad boy finding redemption.

The protagonist, Cade, initially captivated me with his struggle to recover from heartbreak, and I eagerly followed his journey. However, there were moments where his internal dialogue veered towards objectification and, at times, it felt disconnected from the established, self-sufficient man I expected. Similarly, while the billionaire love interest Wilston added depth with his family drama, his initial focus on "bedroom activities" felt slightly jarring, though it served the character arc.

One standout aspect was the author's adept portrayal of reality, particularly in the poignant depiction of Cade's emotions after one nightstand and the family drama of WIlston. These moments added depth and authenticity to the narrative. However, some repetitive motifs and moments of unnecessary doubt in the relationship detracted from the overall experience.

In conclusion, "Cade" presents a compelling storyline with great potential. With deeper character development and thorough research, this book has the opportunity to stand out in the MM romance genre.

This is the first book in the Jasper Springs series and it sets the tone for the books to come. This book has small town charm with a side order of opposites attract thrown in. This is the story of Cade and Weston. Cade is a small town boy who loves living in his small town Jasper Springs. He enjoys his job as a vet technician but he is longing for someone to call his own. When he goes to the local Bar Bingo and Karaoke night he spies someone who calls to his soul. Weston is in town only long enough to do some obligatory company business. Since his father was the CEO and his parents lived in Jasper Springs, there was no way to avoid the responsibility. Even though Weston lived in town for part of his life, he never felt like he belonged. When Weston sees Cade across the bar, all of a sudden, his night takes a turn for the better. More importantly, Cade has no idea who Weston is. He just wants him for him. This is their story. If you don't like insta-love you may not enjoy it as much. The book is well written and easy to read. I will admit that I was put off by Weston when we first read about him. I thought Cade could do much better. But then you get to see the real Weston behind the walls and my opinion of him changed. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Finally!
Cade lives in the small town of Jasper springs, and he has always loved where he lives and has no plans to move. He has the house he wants. He just doesn’t have a man he wants. He’s dreams of a white picket fence are real he just needs a man. One night his best friend Dawson talked him into going to the local bar M’s for a karaoke night, and that’s where he comes face-to-face with the most gorgeous man he’s ever seen.
Weston Rhodes really dislikes Jasper Springs because his family want him to take over the family business and it is the last thing he wants to do. But when they call, he comes. He goes to the local bar and sees it’s karaoke night when he supports somebody in the crowd. And as soon as they make eye contact He knows he won’t be going home alone tonight. They have one crazy night of passion, but in the morning it becomes less dreamlike because Cade reads the room wrong.
Do these two have a chance together??
I’ve gotta say I thoroughly enjoyed this book, absolutely adored Cade and Weston. I think Cade and Weston made a great couple, Weston knew he had to work hard to get Cade, but really he just needed to be himself. Attraction is hot hot hot and passion between these two is off the charts and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series, where we hear about Dawson’s story. Excited about this series..

Cade Green has a small town charm that seems to cause issues with his partners. He lives in Jasper Springs and is the vet technician. His friend calls to let him know the bar is opening karaoke. So he agrees to go.
Weston Rhodes is in town for a little while. He is a budding CEO thanks to his father. This is his hometown and it is dull. Then he spies blue eyes in the bar. Maybe he can have a bit of a fling to liven things up. He joins in on the karaoke then goes to buy blue eyes a drink.
Cade knows he has a think with men who aren't movie romance quality but he seems to be making a mistake again with this guy he's nicknamed Smooth-Suit-McGee.
After a night together Cade double times it out of there. When he gets to work his boss asks him in a whiny voice to man the booth at the fundraiser. There he finds out his one night stand is the heir to the business backing the fundraiser.
Cade seems to draw the undesirables and Weston is an undesirable. How would the two work? But Weston can't get Cade out of his head and Cade can't get Weston out of his. So what is Weston going to do about it? Can it put effort into pursuing someone or not?
A lovely story about two people who are polar opposites and have no clue how to break bad habits.

This was a great departure from what Eve Riley normally writes and it was AN AWESOME reading! I loved reading it! I just couldn’t stop turning the pages because I absolutely loved both MCs! A movie should be made from this story! More than 5 stars reading from me!

The story focuses on Cade, a small town veterinarian who had a string of bad luck of not having stable relationships. He would have been at home moping and eating ice cream watching a movie on TV but his best friend convinced him to go out and do karaoke at the only bar in town. There, he spied this gorgeous, gorgeous, and gorgeous GQ modelesque stud looking at him. They kinda had a staring match when the stud got up and walked toward him.

West who was somewhat summoned back home in Jasper Springs from the big city wasn’t thrilled to be back. He begrudgingly went to this small town dive where he saw this beautiful man staring at him. He decided to get up and walked toward him.

That was the beginning of something beautiful between the rich playboy and the town veterinarian. I’ll just stop here and have you pick up the book and read to find out what happens and why West was summoned back home. Happy reading!

Cade and Weston’s Story . . .

Cade, the town’s local veterinarian, has recently broken up with his ex Bill – right before Christmas. Rather than let Cade sit home and mope about it, his friend Dawson calls to tell him the bar’s bingo and karaoke schedule was posted and they should go there when he is out of work for the day. Since all Cade had planned was to go home, eat ice cream (the cure for a broken heart), and go to bed, Dawson wouldn’t accept his excuses not to go out. While Dawson went up on stage to sing, Cade noticed a handsome guy he hadn’t seen before. Even his confidence was sexy. He looked like he came from money too. While he daydreamed, he looked up to see the gorgeous guy staring back and smirking at him! He winked, stood up, and started walking toward Cade! He was actually heading toward the stage to sing to Cade.

Weston is in town only to attend a fundraiser at his parents’ insistence. He can’t wait to leave. But meeting Cade promises a much better visit than usual. They have their special night together. But will Weston be as eager to leave now? Has he found the one person who accepts him for himself and loves him unconditionally? And will Fate step in to bring them back together?

I thoroughly enjoyed Cade and Weston’s story and the world of Jasper Springs. The story just flowed and the pages seemed to turn faster than usual. Both men yearned for essentially the same things, over time coming to realize that this match might be the one to fulfill their deepest desires. Weston came across as this handsome millionaire playboy with his act together when he was really mostly lost, just needing someone to stay and love him. Cade was lonely but basically content in his life, but still felt the desire for someone who would want to stay with him. Little did they know the karaoke in the bar and its aftermath might lead to the person each needed, however unlikely and Hallmark rom-commish it felt.

With honest self reflection of the physical attraction and connection they had between them, and understanding the needs they wanted filled, communication was the key to finding whether this was the person who could fulfill the empty place in their lives.

I adored these two MC, enjoyed the side characters, and look forward to their stories in the future.

Cade (An MM Opposites Attract Romance) tells the story how Cade, a veterinary technician meets and falls for bad rich boy Weston. Cade is still getting over his breakup with Bill and Weston is rebelling against his family's expectations. The two meet at a karaoke night at a local bar and make sweet music together. What started as a one night fling becomes a lot more significant when life keeps throwing them together.

The two protagonists face problems that have to be faced and overcome so they can have a chance of a future. One problem they seem to overcome with ease is putting on two charity fundraising events at two day’s notice each. That aside life takes its toll and Weston has a number of decisions to make and Cade has to decide if he is going to give Weston a chance at maybe not breaking his heart.

This is a great read with some wonderful characters and some hot bedroom action if that’s your thing. Even without that this is an emotional ride with the possibility of a happy ending.

Overall, I found this story enjoyable and the characters were interesting. It was a fun, spicy, slightly angsty, and emotionally satisfying read. Cade was a supportive and compassionate character, and I feel like he balanced Weston pretty well even if their communication was a bit hit-and-miss. I would recommend the book even though I personally had a few complaints about some of the generic and illogical moments that could definitely have used more attention or research to bring more life to the story, rather than being used so generically to further the plot (particularly the "fundraisers" and the whole "taking over my father's company" parts....), but those are probably just "me" problems and don't detract specifically from the relationship at the center of the story, so they don't affect my review; I just think it feels like the author didn't give as much care and attention to the foundation of their story as they did the relationship and it could have been better.

Cade is a small town veterinarian who has had a string of bad luck in the romance department, especially lately. He is a sweet, quiet man who is just looking for Mr. Right. One night he finds himself staring at the hot, billionaire bad boy who has come back for a quick trip home. Gorgeous bad boy Weston comes back home and finds himself intrigued by the cute small town veterinarian, Cade. After spending a night getting to know one another Weston is surprised to find that he wants more than just one night.

Can both men get past their pasts and find more than a good time together? Is the bad boy always bad or does he find himself loving small town life again?

Eve Riley has written a beautiful, sweet, sexy, and a little bit spicy romance that hits just right! The characters are real, relatable (aside from the financial aspect of being a billionaire, of course) and super fun. The conversation is a bit awkward at times but it's ok, so are many of us when in a new relationship.

This is a great MM, bad boy/good guy romance! A definite top 10.contender of the year so far!

I had to stop at circa 40%. Weston is a walking red flag—arrogant and acts like he’s God’s gift to the world. However, the personality traits aren't even the biggest issue; it’s the dangerous lack of health awareness and the poor portrayal of a kink-adjacent relationship.

spoiler

The Main Issues:

Safety & Intimacy: The leads engage in intimacy while drunk and without protection. When Cade logically asks about it the next day, Weston gets angry and deflects, making Cade feel guilty for wanting to be safe. Demanding "blind trust" from someone you met hours ago is not romantic—it’s toxic.

Harmful Terminology: The use of the word "clean" regarding STI status is a huge no-go for me. It furthers the stigma that people living with health conditions are "dirty." Also, the complete absence of lube in these scenes is just unrealistic.

Failed Power Dynamics: The "Good Boy" trope and the kink dynamics are handled horribly. There is zero pre-negotiation or communication. Even worse, the narrative looks down on people who set boundaries, labeling those who stop or walk away as "weak."

Cade and Weston are both lost souls, battling their demons and floundering through life with no true direction. Cade was recovering from a broken relationship and Weston was being rebellious against his domineering father who wanted him to return home to take helm of the family company. At a local karaoke night in a local bar, Cade and Weston meet, are attracted to each other, proceed to become quite inebriated, perform multiple songs on stage and return to Weston’s hotel suite. After an enjoyable night they part ways uncertain if they will ever meet again. Fate intervenes and Cade and Weston reconnect at a fundraiser and each recognizes the sparks of attraction they have for the other, and seeking to determine if there could be more.. There was both depth and authenticity to the narrative which made it realistic to me. I received a review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Dawson bugged Cade into going to the bar with him as he hadn’t been out since his breakup and loved his job as a vet tech at the local pet hospital saw Weston across the bar and liked what he saw. Weston had come back home because his mother asked his father kept trying to get him to take over the family business but didn’t want to. He went up on stage and sang a song to Cade they drank together and ended singing some songs together too, then went to Weston’s room. Weston acted like the night didn’t mean anything because he was going back to the city to get another job as he had lost his last one. Cade went to work at the fundraiser for the pet hospital then sent to meet with Weston’s father and company about the money that was raised and doing more then he learned who Weston really was. His father retired and had a heart attack so Weston trying to help at the company decided to take over and stay made up with Cade. Good book!

This was an enjoyable book and I'm glad the focus stayed on Cade and Weston's romance throughout. I started off thinking Weston was quite arrogant and selfish... but their chemistry was smoking hot! However, Weston really grew on me as a character and he definitely changed his ways. Cade was a good character but I did feel that, at times, he was a tad surface level because he was always just so nice and we didn't really explore too much of his history. I liked the secondary characters introduced and I thought the world building was strong too; I'm certainly going to be reading book 2 to see what happens with Dawson! Weston's job situation was a touch predictable and a bit of an anti-climax really, especially since he was so adamant at the beginning about what he didn't want to do. I did like the HEA they had though as it was super sweet. Overall, a good mm romance and I'd recommend it if you like this genre.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

I loved Cade: An MM Opposites Attract Romance (Jasper Springs Book 1) by Eve Riley. Cade loves his life for the most part, he has a great job and great fiends he just doesn’t have a partner. They never seem to stay. Weston is a fun time guy, a one night kinda guy. Meeting Cade brings out feelings he didn’t know he could have but he keeps messing up. He’s not even sure how long he will be in town. Cade keeps giving Weston chances that don’t seem to stick. Maybe it’s time to move on. I loved the storyline and the characters. Cade will help Weston see what the future could be and maybe Westin can finally give Cade the partner he wants. I would definitely recommend this book and I can’t wait for Dawson’s story.

I received an ARC copy (from a third party) and promised in return an honest review.

I have read books by this author before and expected more which may have coloured my rating. It is an enjoyable book with Weston being viewed as a bad boy until he began to realize how much he wanted Cade. Weston was rejecting being CEO of the family business (understandable the way his parents were) but he also had rejected small town. Cade basically showed Weston his homey house, hs love of animals, and Weston felt drawn to some of what Cade had. Because Weston's Dad had had a heart attack and the Weston discovered he could handle things without always focusing on "spreadsheets" he agreed to become CEO.

The plot was developed but I truly had a desire to know the characters better.

I really enjoyed “Cade”, book one in the Jasper Springs series. Cade has a history of attracting duds, when it comes to dating or boyfriends. Going out on the town with his friends brings him into the same bar where Weston is. Catching each other’s eyes, leads to drinking and karaoke…. To waking up in Weston’s hotel room. Being told it was just sex and know it is, is one thing. Being brought together around the small town is another. But each encounter has Cade looking at Weston differently and Weston’s realizing that Cade offers everything he’s not known he needed or was looking for.

Sweet, sexy book that is written well at has me wanting the next book about Dawson.

An interesting beginning and a pretty interesting relationship that follows. Cade and Weston are fun characters. Their situation starts out rather impromptu but that changes quickly. Strong support from friends gave this story added strength, though it had a lot of credit on its own. The relationship moved along quickly and kept the reader engaged. Wes’s family dynamic brought some mild drama, another path fondly travelled in the story. Finally a HeA brings the book to a close bringing warmth and closure to the story.

This is a well written book that gives the feels. It brings up feelings of acceptance and finding love when you least expect it. Cade is adorable and sweet and loves his hometown but wants someone to love him. Weston expects to briefly visit Jasper Springs and go right back to his high-flying party ways. They are total opposites, but this story shows how it is possible that makes them fit perfectly. There are several side characters that help to bring even more to this story by being themselves, Dawson comes to mind. There is fun, hurt, comfort, acceptance and an HEA. I can't wait for the next story.

I enjoyed this book, it’s the first in a new small town series, Weston isn’t happy to be back visiting his hometown but then he meets Cade and his feelings about a lot of things change. Both men are drawn to each other and want to look after and care for the other one and they have the benefit of their chemistry being electric, it was good watching them navigate around each other and learning about each other and seeing Weston realise that all he wanted and needed to be happy was right in front of him in his small hometown. Looking forward to reading more from this series. Good read and good start to the series.

Sweet story. Cade, is living his best life. He just needs his ‘person’ to complete his life. He doesn’t have the best luck in his romantic relationships. Weston, a billionaire returns to his small town at the behest of his Dad. He doesn’t want to be there, but he feels obligated. Cade is out for karaoke with his friends and he and Weston, share a look. They take it further than a look and step out into a new reality. Are they ready for the challenges? Are they ready for what could be their new reality, their challenges? Nice story, sweet. I received a new ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review

I was so excited for this small town series. I was not disappointed. Cade, a Hallmark movie lover who works for the small town vet. Weston, a billionaire who unhappily returns to town for a charity event. Weston, in his tailor, made suite and Cade in jeans. Their eyes met at karaoke night, and it was instant attraction.

Both had no luck with relationships. Cade thought he wasn't good enough for anyone. Where Weston thought he was only wanted by others because of his money.

What a fantastic beginning to a new series. I am so excited for Dawson's story.

An enjoyable book. I started out not really liking Weston as a character but he grew on me. Cade is really sweet and has a lot of insecurities. If I had to critique one thing it would be the Rhodes family dynamic and how it resolved at the end. With what was written about Westons parents and the interactions, I was expecting something… more grim? dramatic? something else that the (to my feeling) sudden happy resolution towards the end of the book. Because of this I give it 3.5 stars.

Jasper Springs, Book 1. I loved Cade and Weston's story. Weston comes from an wealthy background and had quite an arrogant view of life. He was also really looking for a purpose in his life. And he found that in Jasper Spring with Cade. Cade had also experienced his share of broken relationships and doubted whether Weston was the right one for him. But as the story progressed, these two discovered that they had a lot in common. I thought the story was clear and beautifully presented. Doubt, uncertainty, relationships, everything was beautifully described. Beautiful story. Recommended.

This is a start to a new MM small town romance series. I enjoyed this overal light story which reads quickly and left me with all the fluffly feels.
What I enjoyed about this book by Eve was how Cade knows what he dreams about: the quintessial rom com romance with a man who sweeps him of his feet instead of his past relations.
Que Weston, he presents a certain persona to the world, but it turns out they are each others dream men when they dare to be true to themself and the other.
