Dylan Dwyer. Chiseled. Tattooed. Filthy rich. Cocky as hell.
I’ve just become living proof no woman is immune to the persuasions of a playboy.

From the moment he opens his mouth to spew insults about my cookies at an event my bakery is catering, I can’t stand him.

This arrogant prick has the nerve to tell me my cookies don’t melt in the mouth… I’ll give him a cookie that melts in the mouth.

When I find out we’ve both entered the same baking contest, I determine to throw down the butt kicking he deserves.
And it’s going great… until we tie and are teamed up for the regional competition.

Desserts aren’t typically spicy,
But when we make them together, things get so hot, we’re both bound to be burned.

My body and my heart are disobeying my will at every turn.

We’re caught up in a whirlwind too intense to withstand, but too alluring to avoid.

He needs to either commit or disappear for good.
And we all know a playboy never commits.

Dylan lives in Seattle and owns multiple successful bakeries that he micromanages to the point of his ill health now. He has just been ordered by his doctor to take a long period off of a month or more, with no work-related issues. If he didn't, there was a good chance he might not be around to continue running any of his businesses because he might pass away. Dylan did not like what he was hearing but knew his doctor was right because of some of the symptoms. His doctor put it in perspective, "Yes, a month. Dead men don't run businesses."

He knew his doctor was right because he worked seven days a week. On weekends, he worked fewer hours, but he still made work calls. Once his mom heard he was ill, she wanted him home with her and his dad. They had an apartment over their garage, that had been remodeled, and she would cook all the meals.

He had learned everything about baking from his mom in the family bakery. He named his SweetEats, and his parent's bakery is called GaDiane. Combination of both his parent's names Gary and Diane. Upon arriving home, his mom made him take his blood pressure three times a day.

He got a reprieve when he went, as a plus one, with his friend Max to his friend's wedding. Of course, Dylan tried a cupcake first telling Zoey it was ‘It’s missing something. But there's something off about it." Then he said, "It tastes off." “Wait, let me taste another flavor." "Almost good." "I've had better cookies, but it’s okay. It's not all that bad. It doesn't melt in your mouth, though."

By this time both of Zoey’s hands were on her hips, and she was roaring mad. "You've had better?" "So, why are you still eating it?" "You know what they say about people who can't create anything?" "People who aren't good at creating anything are always quick to criticize other people's creations. I bet all you do is eat desserts and judge them without knowing the first thing about making them."

They both needed to prove to themselves that they were the best. As well as prove that their bakery is the best. Remember, Dylan doesn't live in Philly anymore, but his parents do, and it's family-owned. So, he will represent. His parent's place was losing business and bleeding out fast, and if he didn’t help them out, they could be out of business in six months. For Zoey, it was a matter of the economy. A lot of the larger businesses and corporations were hurting, too. She was just glad she was still in business.

So, when they both end up going up against each other in the contest, it becomes fun. But, it becomes real when their attraction for one another and feelings start to play a part in the mix.

He has been having trouble with his health and the doctor has demanded that he take time away from work - he's not allowed to work at all, instead he must become a man of leisure. He heads back to his hometown and gets into a baking competition, hoping to help his family's shop. He is in competition with Zoey, who also owns her own shop. Winning the competition could mean everything to her and her store. Once the local competition is over, it's a tie between Dylan and Zoey. They go to the next competition in Boston and while Zoey wants to hate Dylan, she finds that she really doesn't. She is aware of his playboy reputation, but notes that he seems different at least right now. They sleep together, then start a relationship. Great story!

Dylan was a pastry chef and Zoey was a baker. When they first met, it was at a wedding and he told her that her cookies need something else to make them better. She was angry. When they saw each other , there always were strong words. Then a baking competition came along. Both signed up and didn’t know at the time. Now after both winning with a tie they had to bake together to win the seventy-five thousand dollars. Boy oh boy, did things ever eat heated. Such a good story.
