While this book was easy to read, I felt it was lacking details. I felt like the action was just starting, and then it was over. We never did find out the secrets. I might give this author another try, as I feel that if it's a full-length novel, they might complete more details. I did like the characters
I'm not exactly sure why this has such a bad rating. Maybe because it's a bit awkward throughout. As though it's the first book written by the author. I have no idea if it is. But, it was intriguing, to be sure. Maybe a little bit over the top, but it is something that has happened throughout history here and there. The only thing I didn't get was just what WERE the secrets they were protecting? What did those numbers represent? I didn't grasp how a town's heritage needed to be protected with death. It brought to mind today's political scene. But, also made me think of a wild west town with leaders who had their hands in every pot. They were finally brought down. I've read better, yes. But, I've also read a lot worse, including one I couldn't even finish. It's still an interesting read.
received this book from the author through Book Funnel basically a fairly typical cozy mystery with romantic resurrection elements timelines seem off with way more happening in a short time than should be able description of characters and scenes not awful presumably more adventures to follow. not sure if I will bother checking
