Glazed and Confused: Loves Bites 1: A Sweet & Clean BWWM Paranormal Romcom

Rate this book
Emma Moore has enough on her plate running Glazed & Confused, her quirky doughnut shop in a small town where gossip spreads faster than frosting. At 29, she’s a self-proclaimed cynic with a knack for sarcasm and a love-hate relationship with her precarious financial situation. The last thing she needs is her brooding new landlord, Viktor, showing up with his tailored suits, cryptic notes about “essence,” and a face that looks like it belongs on a gothic romance novel.

Viktor isn’t your average landlord. He’s not even your average vampire. He’s got his own problems—like dodging the “vampire HOA”, nosy inspectors, impossible council demands, and now, an increasingly stubborn tenant who refuses to take him seriously.

When Emma and Viktor’s worlds collide over unpaid rent and her werewolf rival, Gary, sparks fly—both literal and metaphorical. Viktor finds himself drawn to Emma’s fiery wit and indomitable spirit, while Emma is reluctantly charmed by Viktor’s dry humor and the surprising tenderness beneath his intimidating exterior.

Between dodging jealous werewolves, surviving supernatural council inspections, and engaging in late-night doughnut experiments, Emma and Viktor must navigate their clashing personalities, growing attraction, and a town that’s a little too curious about their “relationship.” But as Emma learns more about Viktor’s world—and the unique connection they share—she begins to wonder if this reluctant partnership might be the sweetest thing to ever happen to her.

With laugh-out-loud humor, sizzling chemistry, and a cast of quirky characters, Glazed & Confused is a romantic comedy that proves love can be found in the most unexpected places…like a doughnut shop with a vampire landlord.

Girl… what was this?
Why was the description of this little novella more enticing and detailed than the next 70 pages? Why did conversations just repeat themselves multiple times in the same scene? How many times can you use the word “brushed” on a single page?
Hilarious and had a good laugh.

Glazed and confused… more like just confused…. This book was so disjointed I had no idea what was happening why characters appeared and then magically they were never there. I had to reread multiple times to just see if I was missing something. This was just not my jam.

This has been on my KU homepage staring at me for MONTHS. Quick read! I like the energy/essence vampire aspect but it wasn’t fully fleshed out. One chapter Viktor says he can’t walk with her during the day, another he is seen “walking away in the light of morning” (which sounds a lot like day to me).

My main gripe is with how short it is; I like the idea of the story but the chapters don’t flow together and are choppy. It feels like we’re skipping through time between chapters. Which can work, but didn’t pay off here since it’s so short.

There are a few chapters in a row where both characters say “you know, you’re not as insufferable as I thought”. But we don’t really see why they think that about each other in the first place. I would love to know why Emma feels Viktor is a bad landlord!

The writing does get repetitive but I have DEFINITELY read worse! And there weren’t any glaring grammar errors/typos!

I know its a Novella and its meant to be short but this book was just kind of everywhere. We dont ever really know why she hates her landlord. Also, we just forget all about the council? And the fact that they are fake dating is never brought up again. The whole essence thing kind of makes no sense because it only ever happened when they were intimate with each other and it kind of felt like he was using her because it happened every single time they kissed 🙃 I feel like the book had promise and the storyline seemed good and the cover hooked me right in but it was all just kind of underwhelming 🥺

Unexpected!

I love the humor in this book,. The two main character played well together, it’s very refreshing and Lily is just beautiful. I hope there’s a next longer book nicely done. Never read this author before I hope all her books I like this.

with sincere regret I cannot rate this more than this

This should have been good if not great but I found myself way more confused than I should be for a novella. Not to mention the insta love of it all. Just wasn’t my cup of tea. Though there were some decent moments

This was a cute, fun novella. It took me a bit to understand who’s POV we were in, but eventually I got it. If you are looking for a fun spooky-eqse novella to meet your reading goal, this is it
