Mindy is found to be a really sick girl and when they realize what's going on with her, everyone will be dumbfounded. In the end, things fall into place and everyone is happy. Read: February 2015
I was eager to read this from the moment I found out that it was coming out because the synopsis drew me in. This book did NOT disappoint! I love stories of forgiveness, especially when there's hope for reconciliation. The Fall of the Prodigal was a definite page turner, from beginning to end, and an easy read. I devoured this book in one day; yes, it was that good. The characters and their situations were easy to relate to, the story flowed well, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I would recommend this book to everyone!
I really enjoyed this novel! It has a little bit of everything, lies, deceit, sin, repentance and acceptance. Michael really was the prodigal son but Verona was a prodigal daughter! Poor Lauren was just disturbed, she had a lot of issues but in the end God's love prevailed. Thank God He's a mender of broken things and hearts & that Mindy and her dad found Christ. The only negative there were some grammatical errors but overall a great read! Looking forward to the next installment!
Excellent book…Keith and Michael were estranged brothers, but Keith prayed for Michael to return home. Michael did not trust to me people due to the hurt they he experienced in the past. Michael thought he was still in love with Lauren, but was truly in love with Verona. Forgiveness is an important part of life, you must forgive to mend your heart. Seek help from the master.
What an ending to a series. Michael had a long road to deliverance. Stachs and Michael had me in tears, laughing so hard. Mindy and her dad had me concerned, I'm glad it wasn't what I thought it was. I did not expect the culprit. This author is gifted to write. I can't believe I read three books in a week. I'll definitely be reading more of this author. I laughed, cried, sang and said amen.
A goodread. Since, my early adulthood was during the 80s era of Dallas & Dynasty, I have a fondness for larger than life entertainment. If it's a larger than life Christian book, with the juicy elements of intrigue, big egos, big business, romance, heartbreak, and yet still bringing the message of salvation, redemption, mercy, forgiveness. 4.5 stars. Michael Ward is a man who doesn't think he needs anyone. After being accused of rape by the daughter of his business partner, Michael seeks help from the only man he can knows he can trust to fight with everything for him. That man is his estranged brother, Keith Ward, a former attorney, now a megachurch pastor and his ex wife's husband. Nothing is swept under the rug in this book. This is a christian book with some characters who aren't Christian and don't act Christian and have real life struggles. I really like the way Ms Lindo-Rice shows that God and salvation aren't just for people that go to church or are "nice, normal" people. ******The other two books in the series should be read first to get a full understanding of the characters******
In terms of plot, mystery, and suspense, this novel is on par with any done by better known writers like James Patterson, Mary Higgins Clark, and Michael Connelly. And, at the same time, this novel surpasses works by those other writers because of the romantic elements and the spiritual blessings. I was totally caught up in the mysteries that played out in this novel, the third book about the Ward family, and I loved the ending. I appreciated the biblical references that give me something to study and use to grow in Christ in my own life. I thank God for using the author in this way. When I read the first two books, I was Team Keith all the way. However, I ended the third book rooting for both of the brothers. Definitely one of my favorite series, and I will read again.
A very beautiful story of love! Love which comes only from God himself! That special love is trickled down to family & friends! I loved how Keith & Gina were finally able to live the love-life God intended. Sometimes, we try to fill God's shoes in trying to help him establish his plans...when this happens, it only slows down our process of healing & progression! I can't go into much details; this will definitely be a spoiler! Read the book & enjoy these characters for yourself! I absolutely loved it! Great work by Michelle Lindo-Rice!! You did an amazing job with this story line & characters. I praise God for His work done through you. There can be no love without the power of forgiveness! One compliments the other! Get this book! Read it and allow God to reveal himself to you through these pages of pure encouragement & entertainment!
Michelle Lindo-Rice has a way of painting a picture with words that will draw you in and keep you captivated. Love, forgiveness, redemption, peace, hope...God's work revealed throughout the series. The trials the characters faced were realistic and eye opening. How often do we try to take matters into our own hands instead of trusting God to do what only He can do? If only we could see things through our spiritual eyes and not our natural eyes. If only we would listen to the still small voice. If only we would move our stubborness out of the way. This is a story of what happens when we don't move out of God's way. This is a story of what it means to trust God. This is a story of letting go and letting God. The Fall of the Prodigal was the perfect ending to a wonderful series.
Michelle Lindo-Rice has done it again! She has penned another 5 star page turner that will not disappoint. I was pulled in from the 1st word. The Fall is centered around Faith, Forgiveness, Family, Friendship, Trust & Love. The characters, their feelings, their emotions and their actions are all realistic and relatable. The story is well written and will have you engaged from cover to cover. You are reminded in the story that no matter how far you stray from God, He never strays away from you & He's always awaiting your return.
The Fall of The Prodigal is a wonderful story about forgiveness and faith with a lot of twists and turns. I was glued to this book from page one. Michelle Lindo-Rice did a great job as she dealt with love, faith, forgiveness, mental illness, and the struggle in moving out of God's way to allow him to fix a situation. The chemistry between the couples are hot and the characters and their issues are realistic. The Fall of The Prodigal is part of The On The Right Path Series, but can be read as a stand alone novel. I look forward to reading more of Michelle Lindo-Rice work.
Excellent read, A page-tuner very well written. the title "The Fall of the Prodigal" make you thin you know what's the story is about and you'll be TOTALLY WRONG. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting and every page was full of twist, turn, secret and lies, Loved the first 2 books and the characters was so easy to relate to I felt as if I was a part of them. Highly recommend this book of faith and forgiveness.
I love it, it's a joy to read a book that keeps you interested. This book had so much to offer. From faith to love to mystery and then some. This was simply a great series. I laughed I cried I gave praises unto God it was truly awesome. Here i was thinking Mindy was crazy with three different personalities. Only to fine out Eille G had her beat. Tell me God don't have a way of turning things around. Thank God Michael realized Verona was his help mate. Ooooops ! I hope I didn't give it away.
I couldn't wait to read this after reading the first two in this series. I was not disappointed, the way these two brothers learned to forgive themselves and each other. This book also touched on mental illness, which is a hard subject because so many of us have family members and loved ones who suffer mental illness and we just dismiss it. You will not go wrong with this read.
Read this particular story because we were having a Facebook discussion, not realizing there were two books before it. It was a wonderful story filled with a lot of surprises. This is another particular author that I will keep a look out for.
Michael who I developed a strong dislike for in Book 1, was able to get some redemption. The manner in which he handles business is highly questionable but how he mishandled love is really awful. This journey brought him from a life of darkness into a life where he chose God, love, obtained his children, and he’s able to live with a released spirit. He was a prodigal but he found redemption.
Keith and Gina have their love. It did not come without a price. Michael returns but is it to harm or reunite? Lies are uncovered as are hearts. Will everybody end up with their hea? At what price? No matter the outcome, God's amazing Grace and Michelle's 4 F faith, friendship, family and forgiveness, is woven throughout this book. This series relaxed my soul as no one like MichelleLindo-Rice can!!
Second chances are rare and to be cherished - just as this book illustrates if we really wish and work for our goals then support flows from everywhere. I was intrigued by the blurb of the book and all the twists and turns in the lives of Michael and Veronica kept me glued to their story. Michael initially is not an easy character to like but as I read along, I realized all the characters in the book are layered and so human. Just like us and not so perfect.
This book has so many stories all woven within the book that I uncovered as I read making it an interesting read. The characters had so much to talk and share. As I read about the brothers, Keith & Michael and their estranged relation and how time is the biggest healer I was moved by the familial love. Brothers, love, lies and how all of them find their place in life in this book by Michelle.
This book focuses on relationships and family and drives home the fact that love can make all things possible. Michael may be the hero of the book but I felt that Veronica was the real ‘prodigal’. Her story touched me deeply as she fought her past and need to connect with her loved ones. Her spirit and faith were so moving. I love strong women characters and Michelle has penned her so perfectly.
Keith with is deep faith and family support makes the perfect man to bring his errant brother home. I found his character so calm and nurturing. The way he handled all the confusion and accusations around him while being protective and strong – the perfect brother, father and husband. His faith is so strong that he makes others believe and turns foes into friends.
Mindy, Gina, Bill and Lauren add to the story with each character making me wonder who is the real culprit and is Michael really innocent. It was Keith’s faith and the fast-paced story that kept me intrigued and interested as the story got stickier before it got sorted! :D Well, etched characters and family members, a few criminals and lots of drama made this book a quick yet satisfying read.
The Fall of the Prodigal also addresses an issue often swept under carpets and hidden behind closed doors – mental illness. Depression, Bi-polar disorder and other forms of illness that alter our minds and are very rampant in our world today yet acceptance and help quite scant. The way the disease is shown in the book and how capable are people of living double lives. The surprise at the end of the book was just too good and so well scripted. I do not wish to give away the surprise so no more except the fact that ‘Tiger’, Michael and Keith could not have handled it without each other and their faith.
Perfect ending and quite the drama reminding me of the famous lines, ‘it is not the end if everything is not alright.’ The Prodigal finally came home.
(I won a copy of this book in a giveaway, this is my honest review.)
He finds himself accused of a heinous crime and, facing major jail time, turns to his estranged brother, Pastor Keith Ward, for help.
Michael has Verona "Tiger" Stachs" on his side, the best attorney around. He needs her- between a mentally ill teenage girl, children he never got a chance to raise and his ongoing issues with Keith having "stolen" his wife, Michael can't afford any mistakes.
This was a thrill ride from beginning to end, and I enjoyed trying to figure out Whodunnit
a little too pat of an answer for this series.... starts out like "gone with the wind", ends up like the tv show "dallas" with characters becoming unbelievable.
OMG! Lots of page turning twists and turns! I love the way the author didn't leave you wondering about the main characters. Excellent conclusion to this series. I also say bravo how she fit in forgiveness and restoration into the story.
