Masterfully concise, evocative imagery, and overall a very cohesive body of work.
Apirana Taylor's skill as a poet really shines through the words, leaving me at times more impressed by his expert control of language than immersed in the poems.
There are no superfluous words but plenty of punchy ideas, vivid feelings, and immersive views of nature.
Very quick read and I recommend it to anyone interested in well crafted poetry.
