It is an alternate history adventure for adults, as well as a clean and wholesome addition to any teen’s list of good fantasy novels and coming of age fiction where hope is a light in the night.

Familiar human frailties, a lie, betrayal, and oath-breaking.

Weakness blooms in the betrayal of a Brother’s hope. Evil waxes by sinuous, deadly, hidden ways to bring about a kingdom’s fall. Until one monk rises up to oppose treachery in his own heart and uncovers the first threads of long-laid plots and whispers of a coming king.

Kyrin bears the heir of House Cieri and the hope of Britannia. A thief steals the Damascus sword from the very hall of Cierheld. Berd, first armsman of Cieri, must recover the sword and reveal the rat in the walls. Kyrin’s companion, Celine, vows to find the lost sword first, for she is as strong as any man and no orphan to be pitied.

But Thain Mornoth plots to take the king’s seat. He accuses Berd and Cierheld of terrible crimes, entangling them in webs of deceit and treachery and the regent’s doubt. The insidious hand behind Thain will bring a great reset to the land that will end in fire.

Can Berd and Celine break free of the broken oaths around them in time to protect the prince, prove their oaths, and lead the people of Britannia in a last battle? While the coils of danger tighten around Cierheld, lady Myrna, forced by long illness to stay behind, joins forces with an old healer to defend hope and ward Britannia.

Against a backdrop of old enemies and new alliances the coming king remains hidden. One heir must survive. One must be protected. Or all will end in ash.

For any land is only as good as its king.

We were afflicted on every side: conflicts without, fears within. ~ 2 Corinthians 7:5

“Keep a sharp watch.” Brother Rolf slid from his saddle, staff in hand. His heart beat fast. There was doom here. He felt it and smelt it: blood and vomit and anger bright as copper fire.

“See to it,” Lester said, and most of the squad formed a ring, looking outward at the trees, weapons to hand, long habit from the Wall taking root again. They watched the woods and the water, their blades bared, Kilden with an arrow on his string.

A very enjoyable collection of stories relating to the previous instalments in the Falcon Chronicles Series. Kyrin only actually features in one of them: a short prequel to Falcon Flight.

THE rest are related to friends or relatives, but they’re set in the same world and there’s plenty of references to our beloved heroine and her legacy.

Also, Kryin’s clan and their special connection to hawks, falcons and all things falconry continues here. What’s not to love!

It gave a feel of ancient/early Medieval Britain but in a Historical Fantasy setting. Recommended for YA readers and fans of tales of romance and adventure with strong female characters and inspirational messages.

"Falcon Dagger" by Azalea Dabill is a gripping tale that effortlessly intertwines adventure, romance, and a touch of fantasy. I found myself captivated by the strong character development, the intricacies of the plot, and the fact that a Christian worldview is natrurally woven into the story, never forced or off-putting in any way .
The Story was deeply engaging, and I found myself turning page after page as I was gripped by the action.
The themes of loyalty, courage, and transformation resonate throughout the narrative. Overall, "Falcon Dagger" is an engaging read that combines action, emotion, and a touch of the supernatural, making it a must-read for anyone seeking a thrilling escape. I would highly recommend it to fellow readers looking for an adventure that lingers long after the last page is turned.

Falcon dagger is a collection of stories, with its namesake being the finale installment of the Falcon Chronicles Series. In Falcon Dagger, first daughter Kyrin is pregnant and relying on husband and countrymen to protect her and root out inner treachery and defend against outer enemies.

Each of the three smaller stories focuses in on a side character and their development

Kingdom’s Fall follows brother Rolf, an armsman turned abbey man who must help protect Cierhold from roaming bandits and unveil a high level of discontent working within the church. Someone is working against the Northern lords and the brothers of the Abbey for mislead religious and political reasons. Only Rolf and the men he lead in the past can stop it.

Cieri’s Daughter is the story of Kyrin’s friend and subject Celine and one of her armsmen Berd competing to find the missing sword of Cierhold. The sword represents their first daughter right to rule and the legitimacy of her soon coming heir, and its disappearance does not bode well. I especially love this story around Berd and Celine, how they grow from teasing and serving their first daughter, to respect for each other’s weapon skills, to hesitant, honest love.

Path of the Warrior gives is the origin story of Tae-Shin, a major player in book 2 of the Falcon chronicles. He is the martial arts teacher for Kyrin and her blood sister, even as they serve as slaves in Araby. He is a born again Christian man who constantly reminds them to trust their in God. This shows his early faith and efforts for peace, even at his own expense.

As always, the writing in this series is submersible and interesting. I can tell how much research went into this writing and this world. The ending was satisfying and thought provoking. I recommend this series and especially this last installment to fans of A Flame in the North by Lilith Saintcrow. I can’t wait to see what the author writes next!

Falcon Dagger is a collection of four works that wrap up threads from the earlier Falcon Chronicles books. There is intrigue, revealed villains, and plenty of fighting. It definitely has the feel of another time with a focus on faith, loyalty, and honor that would be appropriate for medieval days. While this book is not normally in the genres I typically lean toward, I did appreciate all the details that made the story world epic in scope, and that the good characters were truly good.

I was given an early copy of the book to read, and this is my honest review.

Action, adventure & intrigue in the medieval times. An enjoyable conclusion to the Falcon Chronicles. Split into four parts, the first two parts wrap up the story of Kryin & her life in Britannia after she marries. Clashes between those wanting to serve and take care of the people & those that want control and power, irregardless of the cost to those around them. The second two parts are about Kyrin & Tae Chisun just prior to the events that lead them to being slaves in Arabia.

I found a cuss word in book two and didn't finish it, so it made this story a bit confusing. We went away from the main characters in one and the part I read of two and I was a bit lost with these new characters. But overall, I did enjoy the story when I figured out where I was going and who folks were.

I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway. I read the first two in the trio first and this was my favorite of the three! It was very interesting to see the events through the eyes of other characters, and learn their stories as well. Excellent way to end a trilogy.

A satirizing conclusion to this series, plus a couple of side stories. Over all an enjoyable series. I could see improvement in the writing over the course of the series.

This book takes place around 800 A.D., spans continents from the British Isles to Korea, and is full of war and adventure and human nature. It is slow reading in places due to the use of old English, but everything falls into place as I read. I like how the main character(s) in all of the sections has to make hard choices, but also learns from them, and in the end, draws closer to God.
