A collection of monologues from diverse contemporary works by Canadian playwrights that reflect the country's artistic landscape through a breadth of themes, styles, regions, and creative practices. Solo can be used as a monologue source for actors and students, and as a primer on diverse Canadian theater and an entry point into new works.
This was read for school. It was really interesting, especially because it was multi-cultural Canadian plays. However, this isn't something I would read for 'fun'.
There were also some monologues I enjoyed more than others and that skewed my rating.
The book absolutely has opened a new horizon up to me about Canadian playwriting. You can see a collection of really good and short piece as a monolog in the book that is able to motivate you to follow the writers and read whole plays.
