A terrorist attack. A daring raid. Ambitious individuals hungry for power. The Crossroads are in trouble.
Carson Flint and his team have settled into a quiet life in their establishment. Two newcomers arrive with lofty goals of changing the entire planet. When two members of the community go missing, it acts as a launching point for a chaotic event, leaving the remaining citizens to fight for their lives or lose everything.
Meanwhile, Supreme Commander Garvin of the Lumari Collective launches an investigation into a horrendous explosion and an attempted assassination on their queen. The path forward seems straightforward enough until a magistrate suggests an archaic solution to the problem, one which carries the potential to reignite hostilities with the Commonwealth.

Good story. Pretty good development of the characters. Plot line interesting and moving along nicely. However, Walker is in desperate need of a good proof reader. Way too many errors in dropped words and some pretty weird sentence structure. That being said, can't wait for the next book in this series.
The struggles for freedom and friends keeps the action hot and heavy. Following along kept me glued to the story. The characters are what hold my interest. Great read.
Awesome plot, and the characters are well developed, interesting , and believable. Loved this book, and the one before it, except for one thing: individually, these books annoyingly do not have an ending. If you like cliffhangers that leave the story unresolved until the next book is written and published, then you'll love this serial. Otherwise, I suggest you not begin this series until the 3rd book is released, which is scheduled for January 15 2025. I hate cliffhangers! But now I need to find out how this all ends!! At least I'm hoping the 3rd book has an ending!
Loved book1, but this story I never could engage in. Carson an Nell abducted and forced to fight in a barbaric maze filled with killing things. They do survive but the bad guy nearly kills them.
The first book was good. This one is better. I hope that they continue to improve in later books. It is making for a good tale, and I'm a sucker for a good tale,
Alright plots, but the book ending cliff hangers are a turnoff for me! I like a complete story, beginning middle and end, sorry John... no more for me!
