Excellent book. Next to naming the tips/ways to concentrate it also explains how to do it. I highly recommend this book for those who want an extra boost to reach Him with prayers.
This book was also a quick read but I have benefitted a lot from it. I love how the author discusses the spiritual meaning behind simple acts like making wudhu, and the actual actions in Salah, as well as linking to science and the psychology of the brain. I have sticky-tabbed so many different techniques he mentions and I am slowly incorporating them into my prayer, already noticing a difference. The book was immensely beneficial and really focused on the starting point of Salah.
The book gives simple techniques to improve concentration but does not provide a solution to concentration issue. There is only and only ONE WAY to concentration during the prayer and it is by being PRESENT. Once you’re present you will be contacted with God and once you’re connected with God then your prayers become powerful and effective. Again this book won’t teach you how to be present. The best books out there that will teach you how to break the viscous cycle of constant negative thoughts and being either in the past or future are “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle and “Becoming Supernatural” by Dr Joe Dispenza. Once you read these books and develop your skills in being present then this book becomes handy. I gave this book two stars for the useful supplications it provides not for helping to resolve the deeply rooted issue of concentration.
This book was thoroughly informative and gave a lot of insight as to the different components needed to concentrate in prayer. I enjoyed most of it - it did however feel long and heavy in parts but I think a perfect book to read in the Holy month of Ramadan 🌙
Minus one star cuz i didnt realise it was a shia book until point 76😭😭 cuz what u mean a lotta people combining their prayers… oh well i did appreciate some stuff so it wasnt all a waste
