"Conseguiré darle la felicidad; aunque solo sea a ella, aunque para ello tenga que arrojar al infierno a todos los demás".

Este tercer tomo se me ha hecho un poco lento en cuanto a los acontecimientos se refiere. Por otro lado, los personajes me están gustando, sobretodo los secundarios. Eso sí, el protagonista Kei Nagai no me hace mucha gracia por el momento. Esperemos que en los siguientes tomos mejore la cosa.

Puhhh.... Irgendwie finde ich es von der Idee her richtig gut, von der Umsetzung her aber langweilig? 🤔

For me this manga seems to be getting better and better, hopefully it stays that way! I liked that we get a little glimpse into the background of some of our more mysterious characters and getting to know Kei a little better too. Anxious to see what will happen next!

On the run again.

Sato shows his true face and engages in a new an larger plan. We learn more about Tosaki. The true Kei Nagai is revealed. Ogura has intel about the black ghosts.

Lots of revelations in this one. Of violence too.

Still excellent so far. Sakurai maintains his dynamism on art supported by quality storytelling.

First of all, I snagged this for $0.49 at a second-hand shop today, so yay me!

But anyway, the subject matter of this volume was handled better in the anime, in my opinion. There was a lot of action and thrills that didn't quite come across very well in panel format. It's the same thing, yet not. I didn't quite feel the danger here, compared to the anime. I'd still love to continue this series since I adored the anime, which didn't have a proper ending, but it's lower down on my list of ongoing manga to finish.

Ajin: Demi-Human Vol. 3 was solid, but moved at a slower pace for me than the first two volumes. I can’t expect a perfect read every single time. It was still pretty kick-ass, and I’m invested in the story.

SPOILERS AHEAD: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

Mr. Sato, who is often referred to as “Hat”, carried the entire show in this volume. The first discovered demi-human in Japan, the “peaceful” one— is not peaceful at all.

You’d think the leader of the ajins would be a grand and righteous being, yeah? Maybe kind of likeable to the reader.

Nope, not Sato.

That’s okay in my book. I mean, Mr. Sato quite literally shot up the research center and mostly everybody in it.

Thought that was cool.

Sato is pissed— and rightfully so. As the ajin leader, you’ve got to shoot up the research center that pretty much tortures demi-humans.

It’s understandable.

I can’t tell just yet if Sato is some sort of vigilante or if he’s genuinely just an unsympathetic and selfish asshole.

Eh.

There are fourteen more volumes for me to find out. I don’t dislike his character, but the attempt to kill Kei threw me.

When it comes to mentioning characters and their shifting traits— this goes all the characters in this volume, particularly.

Nobody here is truly as they seem.

We gain a little insight on Kei’s true character through the eyes of his little sister, Eri. Tosaki (a highly ranked member of the Ministry of Health), is also not who we thought he may be. He carries motives that were not revealed to us in the first two volumes. I can expect to see his motive evolve as I continue my reading.

I wonder.

In Vol. 3, there are a couple more things to learn about demi-humans, too.

Though demi-humans create IBM (Invisible Black Matter), known as Black Ghosts—apparently these ajin creations can become visible to the average human’s eye if a strong emotion is aimed towards the victim. They also vary in shape and size, completely unique to each demi-human that has one. I’m not sure if they vary in strength just yet, but I’d like to think so based on the fight between Kei and Sato’s respective Black Ghosts.

Some pretty terrible shit is also revealed when it comes to the capture and research of demi-humans. Hopefully as the story progresses, it digs deeper into the divide between average humans and ajins. I am intrigued.

I appreciated the background story here. There is a bit more character building— and the understanding behind the separation between demi-humans and Japan begins to formulate itself. I’d like to say this volume is a bit more of a “filler” read, but it is critical to the story.

I need some more answers and I want more action!

The most fleshed out volume yet. The plot is progressing and getting more complex. The action picked up too. Overall a very good volume. Like I said before, I am sure it will get even better in the coming volumes. Also there's some character development on our main character Kei's side...

Gamon Sakurai knows how to work with perspectives. A big plus.
Also for the reader, we're right there at the scene and not only an observer.

4.5 stars!

This is excellent, the plot never fails to surprise me and now I think completely differently about the main character.
Everybody is delightfully mortally grey and I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.

AJIN: Demi-Human, Vol. 3 (My Kindle Review)

Kei’s face-off with the authorities gets more intense as he gets a bit of unexpected luck while we also see more of he and his sister’s past. We also learn how the government is trying to deal with the spiraling news about demi-humans. A- (91%/Excellent)

Things are starting to pick up. Kei is an interesting character and a lot of the ideas being explored are also pretty interesting. It's also nice to see a lot of the other character's backgrounds and potential motivations.

The action here was extremely well done
We've learnt more about the characters, especially the story from the sister. The twist was unexpected.

Honestly, Nagai Kei is one of the most interesting character I've encountered. Same could be said for the antagonist, Satou. Love the action sequences

WOW! I just recently started reading more manga and am very happy have discovered this series. This is exactly what I love! The action is amazing! The story so far is great. I find myself reading every word printed on each page just to get deeper into the world the author is building for this story. I can't say enough good things about this series. I feel like this could be a real world people can live in because you can connect in some way to how some of the characters have lived their lives in this world. Can't wait to read the next volume! :D

Kalau pernah berpikir betapa beruntungnya jd manusia yg gak bisa mati, yah pikir2 ulang d, sama sekali gak beruntung jika kamu dijadikan bahan eksperimen pemerintah, disiksa, dimutilasi sedikit demi sedikit, diambilin organ2 tubuhnya, lalu dibunuh, dor. Mati? Tentu nggak. Tungguin sampe regenerasi lengkap, daaaan siklus penyiksaan dimulai lagi.

This felt so slow, but we got something; and this is actually realistic I mean this is what would happen if demi-humans exist, people will use them to experiment, make money and a lot of more stuff (technically whatever they want with them) even if they’re just like them. They “don’t die” (in those circumstances cuz apparently they do die) but they still think and feel just like a normal human would.
Still want more info about the black thing

“Demi-humans die”.

Aún siento que no le estoy entendiendo al 100, pero la acción, los diálogos, la trama y el horror me esta encantando, el dibujo sigue muy simple pero de repente tiene algunas páginas muy sorprendentes. Este volumen me deja super intrigado.

This volume really showed the human greed that is possible with the using of Demi humans as research lab rats in car safety and the making aid medications. On the other side, Mr. Sato just seems evil for the fun of it. I’m curious to see if he has any actual motive.
