I really enjoyed this book! The friendship between the female characters was very relatable, and I found myself picturing my own friends as each character.

Oscar? Yes, please! A man willing to grovel his way into your good graces? For MONTHS? We love that level of dedication! Can we talk about the nickname!? SUNSHINE?! Immediately, yes.

ARC REVEIW
I really, really enjoyed this book. It’s well-paced, beautifully written, and filled with characters who feel both realistic and relatable. From the very first page, it gripped me and never once let go.

One thing I particularly loved was how the author wove information seamlessly into the fabric of the story. Instead of dumping everything at once, she released details in carefully measured threads—just enough to keep me engaged while still leaving me guessing.

The characterisation was absolutely wonderful. I rarely highlight books, but I had to pause and mark this line: “Karolina is quieter than the rest of us, but not in a shy way. Her quietness is like that of a panther, stealthy, intense, with a dangerous edge.” It’s such vivid imagery—so much meaning packed into so few words.

After being disappointed by my last read, I was hesitant to dive into another new-to-me author. But by the end of page one, I knew this would be different—and I wasn’t wrong. It turned out to be a really, really good read. And though it was 20 pages shorter than my previous book, so much more happened here.

Below are my raw thoughts whilst reading the book.
🚨🚨 SPOILERS AHEAD!! 🚨🚨

Okay im 6 pages in and I’m OBSESSED!! Perfect start to a book. Introducing the characters in a wonderfully intriguing way. I can feel the tone has already been set. Oscars thoughts feel dark and desperate until he finds the notebook. Cue an obsessive mania that feels almost threatening. Page 105
Ooooooooo. Is this a lil twisty-poo I hear!! The author is a genius!!! She writes in a way that makes you think that Oscar is sending the texts and writing BUT maybe he’s not?! Has she got 2 stalkers? Is one Tim? Ooooo I’m really intrigued!!

Page 117
Ughhh she’s brilliant!! So many suspects subtly Introduced now we know (or think we know) it’s not Oscar! I’m SO INTRIGUED

Page 147
I have to get up in 5 hours BUT I can’t STOP READIBG!!!

Okay just finished.
I really really enjoyed this book!! I thought the reaction to the betrayal and the timeframe to forgiveness was very realistic. I’m chomping at the bit to read the next one!! The only thing I would’ve liked would’ve been one final spicy scene to really solidify the fact they are together. It felt very quick from forgiveness to the end of the book. But it’s such a minor detail!
I love how we are given lil droplets of the couple’s to come! I’m desperate to find out about who’s next! GIMMIE GIMME GIMME!!!

I really liked how the author developed the characters' personality even if sometimes I found the way Arianna (FMC) acted a bit "forced" I don't know how to really explain that.
I enjoyed reading about how Oscar (MMC) managed to make Arianna trust him even if in some parts of the book she was a bit wary of him.
I also enjoyed how the part where she understood that he, for some time, lied to her was written.

Then the moment where the stalker's true identity was uncovered shook me to my core so it definitely made my rating higher, it was really unexpected because I thought that it somehow was the MMC but apparently I was wrong.

My favorite part of the story was the end when the protagonists get to finally be together again, with no lies or secrets in between them. I loved how Oscar did EVERYTHING possible to get her back, I think I'm biased tho because I really like him.

Instead the thing that lowered my rating were the explicit scenes, for some reason I had a hard time getting through them ... I felt like they were thrown at my face.

If you're like me and pick your books based on cover alone please don't not for this one, the cover does not give the story inside justice.

The story is a slow burn, dark, spicy romance with a MMC who becomes obsessed borderline stalker with our FMC after he finds her notebook. Arianna writes religiously in her notebook laying herself bare between the pages however she doesn't expect anyone else to read her thoughts. After a chance encounter that leads to an unlikely friendship Arianna begins to recieve strange notes and creepy texts. However its only Oscar that can understand her fear.

The characterization in this is quite something, how the author describes our characters leaves vivid images in your head. Giving us very relatable characters.

I was absolutely captivated from the beginning and despite Oscar's flaws was truly rooting for him to right his wrongs.

Cant wait to read the next book in The Love Series. Thank you to Aileen Carter for sending me a gifted copy of the book.

Arc reading

This book is the proof that you can fall in love with someone’s words. The way they think, the way their thoughts bring joy and peace into your life, the way their written thoughts can make you fall in love with life again, making you crave for more of that euphoria. And when the words you’ve read so many times blend with an angel face, you are on the irreparable way of being exited and scared at the same time of what this might bring to you.

Stalkish vibes blended with a bit of psycho loverboy, falls in love with words on paper (like all us book girlies do) and falls even harder for the woman who wrote those words.

I found this author on Tik Tok and so glad I did!
Abstract of Love is book one in its series and has such an easy plot to follow! It’s romance with some suspense! At first I was worried that it was gonna get really dark (which isn’t necessarily my cup of tea), but it didn’t! It had just enough thrill and sweet moments that made me want to keep reading! I thought I had an idea where that plot twist was going, but guessed the wrong character! And the surprise for her at the end?! I mean come on that’s just swoon worthy!

I knew going into it that it was a short book but after reading an EXTREMELY long book. This book was perfect, short and sweet but full of impact. The way it was written drew me in, and the fact that Oscar was infatuated with her written at first I didn’t know what to expect but I loved how it talked about his change in feeling and when his thoughts and feelings about Arianna changed. I love that he didn’t give up or lose hope in his love for her. The ending was sweet and the Garden of Eden, the fact that he recreated it and remembered was so sweet and meaningful.

Going into this book, I had little to no expectations. My only expectation was that it was going to be some form of “dark” romance, but this book was much more than that! I was not expecting the thrill of mystery that this book gave me, neither did I expect the plot twist that had my jaw on the floor!!!! The plot was easy to follow and I couldn’t stop reading. I haven’t finished a book in a day for a long while, this book I ate up in one sitting🤭 And not to lie, I was even scared at some points of the book which made the urge to finish the book stronger cause I NEEDED to see how things ended up!

It was a long time since I read something more 🌶️ and this was the perfect read for this! There was spice without it becoming too much or the plot being lost.

The only small thing I would add is a bit more “between” pages where you get a bit more attached to the characters to build up a bit more tension between the main characters and the plot🫶🏻 But that also could just be me wanting to stay in Arianna and Oscar’s world for a bit longer

I think this book would fit someone who wants to get into the world of dark romance or just looking for a short and amazing romance read🤍

I quite enjoyed this book!! There were dark elements but I really loved the idea for this book. Arianna loved to write in notebooks about her feelings and uses it to kind of escape. Oscar had found one of the diaries in his hotel room and became obsessed with this persons thoughts. He found her fascinating. I want to thank Aileen for this arc I am so grateful and enjoyed it 🫶🫶

A HIDDEN GEM OF A BOOK

Omg! I found this amazing author on TikTok and was blessed to add this book to my ARC reads.
And what a gem this book is!
I could NOT put it down and finished in a few hours. The story flows smoothly.
The main characters had a real connection, their interactions written so effortlessly it just made sense.

Arianna, I love how it explains properly where her fears came from, and then worked out properly in the book.
She is soft, sensitive, yet fierce when needed! Not an airhead! She has brains!

Oscars feelings were also neatly written down( will there be a prequel that delves more into his history? Or will it surface in book 2??)
And a groveling Oscar? Wish men in real life would do that kind of groveling lol.
Sigh Oscar, like a good cookie, hard outside, chewy inside.

The bond between sisters(bffs) is so cute too, and really gave the feeling u were in their friend-circle.
Something u would see in real life circles.

All in all, super enjoyed this book!!
Cant wait to read book 2🥰🥰🥰

This book was gifted to me by the author for an honest review.

At first, I was worried this would be a DNF, but once I reached page 20, I was hooked. If you like reading a dual POV, slightly dark romance, with a bit of suspense, this is the book for you. The developing friendship between Oscar and Arianna had me wondering, “Will they or won’t they?” The underlying mystery of who is texting Arianna had me guessing until the shocking reveal.

The slow burn, twists, and some open door spice kept me reading. I gave this book 4 stars because I wanted to know more about the main characters and I wished the resolution didn't feel like it was slightly rushed.

Looking forward to see how the next two books are written!

Thank you Aileen Carter for the book and the upcoming ARC of book #3!

Abstract Love is short but packs a punch, and given the chance, I would have easily read it in one sitting.

The first thing that jumped out to me was the way the writing drew me in and made me want more. It was well-paced, with just the right amount of suspense.

I found the MCs to be really intriguing and enjoyed the way they were developed throughout the book.

To top it all off, the plot twist had me in a chokehold (I'll leave that one there so I don't spoil anything!).

I can't wait for book two!!

Thank you to Aileen Carter and Bookworm Books PR for the opportunity to read and review Abstract Love in exchange for an honest review.

I got this as an ARC but l was behind because my mind just won't let me read! but here we are.
Plot review:
The world building was amazing! The way every moment led to a significant scene flawlessly was perfect. The author had us guessing most of the time - a perfect blend of mystery with romance. The way the author had woven the web of different lives around one passion of writing was fantastic! The climax scene to the reconciliation scene, everything was so emotion provoking - you could feel it!!
..
Characters:
Oscar was a delight to read. A guy who reads, has grey eyes, doesn't like people and is obsessed with her. A perfect guy in my eyes lol.
The way his emotions were portrayed along with showing his different sides was beautiful to read.
If I had to describe him - he felt like Alex Volkov and Christian Harper's long lost brother ( yes, that's the only way I can describe him 😅)
..
Arianna:
Arianna was a complex character - aren't women always are ?! ( Kidding!) Her traumas, her fears were really felt through the pages. Her Passion for writing although a bit intimidating was what carried the whole story.
I sometimes struggled to relate to her as I objectively speaking felt some of her actions overboard.
- the only one point where she pissed me off was when she refused to communicate her struggles even being surrounded by such loving people and didn't till the end told herself anything to anyone.
..

Arianna's friend group cured my twisted girls hangover by a great deal. I've read such genuine and heart felt friendship after a long time. Karalina, Giselle and Alina each having different personality were so fun to read.
..
And Oscar's acquaintances ( because they would deny that they are buddies 👀) were one swoon worthy man after another. At one point I even thought Oscar was collecting the future MC's like pokemons 😂.

Valeris and Kayden also did remind me of twisted men friendship with the way they threatened and complained and laughed at each other's misery every step of the way but still were there. Overall, a very interesting read!!

I was kindly offered a free copy of Abstract Love in return for ARC reading for her upcoming release: Pitching Love.

I liked the idea for this book, a stalker romance. Oscar is in a dark place when he finds the writing of Arianna, a talented writer. From there he develops and obsession and does what he can to track her down to read more of her work.

One of the reasons I rated this book 3 stars is because I like having more description to help me paint more of a picture when reading. Another reason for the rating is that I felt the book was very short, I’m used to reading 300-600 pages, and this was less than 200. However, this meant the book was a breeze and it made it very easy to speed through it.

The 3 star is based on wanting more, because the idea for the book is great and I wish there were more of the plot for me to read because there is so much here to enjoy.

Despite only rating this 3 stars, I am so excited to read the next books in the series and see what is in store for the other characters.

I would say if you’re looking for an easy read with a complicated romance between a talented student and a wealthy man then Abstract Love is definitely for you.

Thank you again to Aileen for sending me the free copy, I cannot wait to read the next two books in the series.

Abstract Love is a warm, feel-good debut with a storyline that really drew me in. I loved the emphasis on female friendship, seeing strong women uplift each other was a definite highlight for me. The friendships felt real and empowering, and that kind of positive representation is something I always appreciate.

The plot itself had so much promise and kept me turning the pages, but at times it did feel a little rushed. There were moments that could’ve benefited from more depth or slower pacing to fully immerse the reader in the emotional beats.

There were also a few grammar errors and some US/UK terminology inconsistencies: for example, “elementary school” instead of “primary school” — that pulled me out of the story briefly. With a solid proofreader (I volunteer as tribute! 😅), this could easily be polished into a solid 4-star read.

I also have to say: the gift-giving from Oscar gave me the ick a bit. I love a morally grey character, but something about that aspect of his behaviour felt a little off to me, and it did affect how much I rooted for him as a main love interest.

That said, this book has heart, charm, and a lot of potential. I’m genuinely excited to see what Aileen Carter writes next. Her voice is fresh, and I think with each book she’s going to get stronger and stronger.

Abstract Love by the talented Aileen Carter – the first book in the Love Series. I absolutely adored this romance, which had just the right amount of suspense. I was instantly drawn into the two main characters, Oscar and Arianna. Both felt so relatable, and the author did an amazing job bringing them to life. I’ve always believed that when your words are read, they touch the heart in a way nothing else can.

Arianna retreats to her university campus to write in her notebook, using it as a safe space to clear her mind and turn her private, intimate thoughts into words on paper.

Oscar, on the other hand, is feeling stuck. After selling his company, he’s been struggling with boredom and and depression. He tries meditation and therapy, but nothing seems to make him feel truly alive—until he stumbles upon something (or rather, someone) that sparks something deep inside him.

Their friends were just as fun to read about- so relatable they reminded me of my own circle of besties. The writing style was engaging, with the perfect balance of spice and heartfelt moments. I even found myself giggling out loud at times!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars- I would definitely recommend this book. It holds just enough pages for the perfect escape into Oscar and Ariana’s world in London.

Of course,I already started Hacked Love the second book in the series.

What a ride this was! I was drawn in immediately. This is a well written stalker romance and has little bit of thriller elements. I have to say there were moments that had my pulse racing.

This story followed MCs Arianna and Oscar. Arianna, sweet and insightful soul who found her calm by writing random thoughts in notebooks. Oscar, in the lowest and darkest point of his life until he randomly came across one of her notebooks and was so intrigued, renewed and uplifted with this strangers random thoughts. He was obsessed with finding this said person.

I enjoyed seeing how Arianna and Oscar met, as well as the slow burn between them. Arianna’s friend group was supportive and relatable and I felt connected to them. With the authors descriptive writing it was easy to become immersed in the story. And when the stalker came in to play and the tension … well that definitely got the pulse racing and kept me on edge.

Although this is a quick read, it packs it all in until the end. Rollercoaster of emotions from lightheartedness of falling in love, the suspense of the stalker, acts of betrayal, healing from a broken heart and that plot twist jaw dropping reveal! Such a fantastic read and looking forward to book 2!

I randomly came across this author while scrolling on TikTok, and I’m so glad I did! I had been stuck in a bit of a reading slump, but this book pulled me right out of it.

In less than 200 pages, you get a little bit of everything: twists, slow burn, friendships. The story follows Arianna, who loses her noteboob, only for Oskar to find it and become obsessed with her... The spice also feels different from the usual tropes, and I was hooked by page 6. I’m not exaggerating when I say I love some pretty messed-up spicy reads, and this one definitely delivered. Besties, add it to your list.

I especially appreciated the dual POV, as it gave depth and insight into both characters—something that really works here since they’re equally important to the story.

"I shall be her only shadow."

That said, there were a couple of moments that didn’t quite land for me, for example, the phrase “flick her clit” was… not it. At times the pacing also felt a bit rushed.

Still, I devoured this in less than 48 hours. It’s an easy, addictive read and sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶

💕 Stalker Romance
💕 Suspenseful
💕 Slow Burn Romance

My Thoughts:
I foudn this author in Instagram and was curious about their books. This one is more of a build up before anything happens (which is always wonderful) and when it does...OMG...I had my suspicions on who was sending her those horrible messages but was wrong on all of them. Great twist!!!

Summary:
Oscar is bored and needs a new challenge for his mind, but no matter what he tries, nothing is working. While in his hotel room, he found a private notebook that made him feel alive for the first time in a long time. But he wants more.

Arianna lost her notebook, and while studying at the library one night, someone wrote her a note her new notebook(bit creepy, right). The next time she goes to the library, she meets a mysterious guy (whom we find out later is Oscar). As time goes on, Oscar and she get to know each other, but she keeps getting creepy messages. Who are they from?

Abstract Love 💕 by Aileen Carter:
I started this book last night and finished it this afternoon — that's how good it was! Aileen somehow managed to write a story that feels both heartwarming and heartbreakingly real.

Oscar and Arianna's story pulled me right in. The way their relationship developed felt so natural - like something that could genuinely happen in real life - and that made every sweet, awkward, emotional, and funny moment hit even harder. I actually laughed out loud a few times (and may have shed a few tears toward the end
What I really loved was how it kept me hooked without being overly long. It's the perfect length to get completely lost in for a day — and I truly lost sleep over it in the best way possible!
Aileen really knows how to make sure you keep turning the pages — her writing style is just that good! This is such a lovely series so far, and I can't wait to read the second book!
It's cozy, emotional, and surprisingly relatable — the kind of book that makes you sigh and smile once you turn the last page.

This was a really well written, fast paced stalker romance.

Arianna and Oscar have an interesting tale of how they met. You see, Arianna is a student who loves to write. She has over 50 journals that she’s filled with all of the thoughts from her head.
Over time, 5 journals have gone missing. Oscar happens to find one of them in his hotel room, reads it, and becomes attached to Arianna & her mind, without having ever met her - or even knowing her name.

He manages to track Arianna down, and long story short - stalks her. Finds where she hangs out, her friends, etc. & starts putting himself into her life by just …showing up.

This story has a couple twists along the way that kept me on my toes, and the slow burn between Arianna & Oscar at first 🥵, and the spice it eventually led into… goddamn - I’ve been thinking about it since I finished the book last night.

Looking forward to Hacked Love, the next book in The Love Series.

Such an intense and thrilling read. The concept itself is so unique: a lost notebook, a stranger who becomes obsessed with the words inside, and the unfolding tension of their connection. It had the perfect blend of romance and suspense that kept me hooked.

Arianna is a student who pours her thoughts into her journals, her escape, her safe space. When one of them goes missing, she has no idea that it has fallen into the hands of Oscar, a mysterious and brilliant tech mogul. Reading her words awakens something in him, and without even knowing her name, he feels drawn to her. His obsession leads him to seek her out, and from there, things take an unexpected turn.

The slow burn between Arianna and Oscar was so well done. Their dynamic is intense The tension builds beautifully.

I also loved the moments of suspense woven throughout the book. There were twists I didn’t see coming. Aileen Carter masterfully weaves romance and suspense together, can't wait to read the next in the series.

Thanks to the author for the ARC!

This was my first stalker style romance book but I did enjoy it!

At first I thought there was going to be 2 people with the same name as the villain but the twist actually caught me by surprise! It was a bit out of left field though and I feel like a few more hints throughout could have been a strategic move haha.

Other than that, I enjoyed this book, loved the fact that he was obsessed with her words and the way her mind works, isn't that what we all want haha.

And the grovelling at the end was perfect, though I don't know if I'd have taken him back myself but still!

I also loved the girls supporting their girl, sisterhood at its finest.

A great book and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into the more of the authors work!

3.5 ⭐️ This was a good book, it’s short and sweet, easy to get through in a few hours. The characters and plot are enjoyable, we love a man that can grovel for months on end. I had a three possibilities in my head for who the stalker could be and I’m quite chuffed that one of my guesses was right 😂

Some parts of the romance did feel slightly rushed but since it’s quite a small fast-paced book it did make sense. I would have loved the characters to be a little more fleshed out and to find out more about their backgrounds and histories, as their backstories were pretty vague, but all in all a good read. If you’re looking for a palette cleanser or just want something easy to get through this is probably the book for you. There is some open door spice in a few consecutive short chapters, spice level 🌶️🌶️

WOW WOW WOW

I don't give 5 stars lightly. I read somewhere that when your wrists ache with emotions it's related to your heart chakra - the literal pulling of heartstrings. That happens to me only rarely and for me, it's the highest praise. This book... my wrists ached for at least 25% of it - which is unheard of!

While the book itself is short, the pacing is just right. It's not been rushed, it builds so carefully and unfolds perfectly. I love the redemption of a broken man. The morally grey but always with the best intentions. The mystery of it all - is it or isn't it? Will they or won't they?

That Aileen Carter can pack mystery, romance, friendship, heat and plot into this tiny package bodes so well for the rest of her catalogue! I can't wait to read more! Bravo!!!

I picked up Abstract Love by Aileen Carter not really knowing what to expect, but wow — it surprised me in the best way. The line “She lost her notebook. He found his obsession.” instantly hooked me. There’s something so fascinating about the idea of someone finding your private thoughts and seeing pieces of who you really are. Arianna and Oscar’s connection feels very raw and emotional, built on curiosity and vulnerability. Their chemistry is intense but also complicated, which made the story feel real and unpredictable. I also liked how the book touched on creativity and self-expression through Arianna’s writing — it added depth to her character.

It’s a quick, addictive read that kept me hooked from start to finish. I do wish it were a little longer to explore the characters more, but overall it’s beautifully written and full of emotion. If you like romantic stories with a hint of darkness and mystery, this one’s definitely worth picking up.

OK so I may be pushing 40 but this was such a fun, breath of fresh air! The fast paced writing is like my friend is filling me in on the latest gossip, or who's who in a party full of strangers.

The friendships are strong and supportive. Arianna, the FMC, has boundaries and exercises them. Not dropping her friends for a guy at any moment and not being taken for a fool.

Oscar is the typical good looking guy with money. Except he makes makes love and knows how to admit to his faults and the guides a grovel god , haha.

Also CHAPTER 44 (SOB)

AND THE TWIST?! ooh lala

I will be reading the next, just what I need to brighten my kindle and my soul.

3.75 ✨ This was addictive, interesting, and a touch eerie. There was this sense that you weren’t sure who to trust, which definitely intrigued me. The premise was captivating; a man finds a notebook and falls in love with the writing which leads him to needing to find the woman behind the words. It was deliciously dark. My only true concern with this story was that I wanted MORE. I wanted more back story, more interactions, more pages. For a story that’s just slightly longer than a Novella it sure packed a punch. I can’t wait to dive into the next in the series bc for a debut book I’m definitely invested in what this author does next.
