Prudence Collier spent the better part of her reckless youth proving that she was not aptly named, and unfortunately she burned a few bridges in the process, including where her family is concerned. So when her long-estranged sister invites her to her destination wedding in the Virgin Islands, Prue leaps at the chance to mend at least one broken family relationship and prove that she’s a changed person.
Tucker Davies, on the other hand, has come to the islands for a very different reason: to stop the wedding. As a childhood friend of the groom, he has reason to believe that his friend is about to make a huge mistake and is intent on not letting that happen. One thing he didn’t count on, though, was going up against Prue.
Determined to make up for the past, Prue resolves to keep Tucker from interfering with her sister’s happiness in the present and is willing to go to any lengths necessary to do so. Any. And if that requires a few tiny deceptions here and there, the occasional brush with the local authorities, and perhaps even instigating a barroom brawl, so be it. A sister has to do what a sister has to do.
But so does a friend, and Tucker has no intention of backing down, no matter how aggravating or even—to his surprise—appealing Prudence Collier can be.
The war is on, and neither side believes they can afford to surrender.
Which is a shame, because they’re both beginning to suspect surrendering would be a lot of fun…
Christine S. Feldman writes both novels and feature-length screenplays, and she has placed in screenwriting competitions on both coasts. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her ballroom-dancing husband and their beagle.
I was a bit disheartened to find that Christine Feldman mostly writes short romances. Some very short. And that's just not my cuppa. So when I noticed that this one is close to novel length, I thought I'd check it out and see if it'd reinforce or undermine my enjoyment of her only other story I'd read. Unfortunately, it showed how good she is with romances and that puts me in a quandary.
I really, really liked the back and forth in this story. Prue is all kinds of gutsy and she gives herself free rein to go at it with poor Tucker. In most battles of wits, I generally like to see things relatively even, but they're in a situation where one loss by Prue and it's all over. So I didn't mind her winning each round—probably because Tucker is no slouch and manages to get his shots in enough that none of her "wins" is easy or without consequences. And Feldman does a fantastic job of showing their connection through it all.
I particularly liked what the back and forth showed about their respective personalities. Prue gets pretty underhanded (because for her, the stakes are so high) and that Tucker can forgive and still think with at least some compassion is outstanding. And that she regrets the effects (even though she can't regret the efforts) shows her in that same vein. So you have two fundamentally kind people doing their best for someone they love and hating that it is putting them in conflict with someone they suspect they'd like to know better.
So anyway, strong characters and an interesting story makes this made of win. I really want more just like it. It's just too bad that Feldman's other stories are all so short. I'd probably be tempted anyway, except that the very short length makes them correspondingly expensive (on a dollar per minute of engagement basis). And I'm cheap enough for that to weigh with me. Hence the above-mentioned quandary...
A note about Chaste: There's no sex in the story, only a couple very nice kisses. They end up trapped for a night together, but it's an endearing connection moment without steam (because it's both cramped and Prue is preoccupied with not panicking due to pre-established anxiety issues).
This was such a fun read, I really enjoyed it. I picked it up last night and couldn't put it down.
Prue is on her way to her sisters wedding, who she hasn't seen in a few years. She is determined to make things right between them and won't let anything get in her way. Including handsome Tucker, the guy planning on stopping the wedding. Tucker was a great guy, I mean seriously what guy would be so easy going about all the things Prue put him through. She was hilarious and I admired her determination. They have some great moments together and I found myself laughing at the different messes they got into.
If you're looking for a cute, lighthearted, romantic getaway than grab this book! It was a lot of fun!
Pru Collier is estranged from her older sister but she has one shot at redemption but Pru will do whatever it takes to make their relationship better. When her sister asks her to attend her island wedding, Pru jumps at the chance. But on the way to the wedding, Pru runs into a little car trouble and is rescued by the hunky man set on stopping Pru's sisters wedding.
Tucker Davies is off to save his best friend from making the biggest mistake of his life, getting married. But a little she-devil he picked up on the side of the road, thwarts him at every turn.
Fabulously fun and fresh, All's Fair In Love and Weddings was an enchanting, engaging and highly entertaining read. I found myself laughing out loud at Pru's antics. Feldman found a marvelous balance for her humorous characters by giving them lots of heart...making All's Fair In Love and Weddings a really great read.
I received this ARC copy of All is Fair In Love and Weddings from Christine S. Feldman in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication Sept. 30, 2014.
This was a fun and emotional read that left me giggling and smiling throughout. The characters were hilarious as they both worked hard to protect those they loved, hardly realizing they were falling in love themselves. I loved the way the main characters interacted and acted naturally with each other. A great story of what love really is, focusing on the main characters, there aren't many others to distract you from the fun of the heart of the story. Overall, a great read for a cool day with fond memories of warmer times on the beach.
My 3.5 star review for All’s Fair In Love and Weddings by Christine S. Feldman It is hard to shake off a reputation, especially a bad one. Pru Collier is out to prove to her sister that she has changed. Attending her sister’s destination wedding is her chance to prove herself and it is also her opportunity to repair their broken relationship When Pru finds herself stranded on the side of the road, her plans to prove she’s changed hit a snag. That is until Tucker Davies shows up to help out. Immediately their chemistry is off the charts but when Pru finds out why he is on the island, she is determined to distract Tucker any and every way possible. Good intentions or not, some things aren’t meant to be.
This book had me laughing out loud a lot. The characters were funny. The dialog was great. I was able to get into the story right away. Pru’s character is beautiful, smart, funny and quick to think on her feet, although sometimes the choices she makes in the moment aren’t the best, it ends up working for her. Tucker is handsome and smart. He is also determined to set his best friend straight, trying to prevent him from making the biggest mistake of his life. He wasn’t expecting Prudence to come barreling into his life and causing chaos. He is intrigued by her and once he realizes who she is, it is game on. What neither of them expected was their feelings they start to develop for each other. The two main characters are both determined which makes for intense and funny scenes. If you are looking for a fun, romantic and easy read. Look no further. Christine S. Feldman did a wonderful job. I look forward to reading more of her stories.

Reading Christine Feldman's work is a little joy for me. I can sneak in a mini vacation on my lunch break or whenever I have a few minutes, and immediately be involved in the vivid world she creates. Her work has always fallen under the 'guilty pleasure' reading category for me, and I'm so pleased to say that her latest work, All's Fair in Love and Weddings, tops it all.
I fell in love with Prue pretty much right off the bat. There's just something about a girl who is willing to go to war to protect her sister/family that makes me want to cheer for her. Prue's inner dialogue (the devil vs the angel on her shoulder) made me laugh in the opening scenes and immediately I identified with her. She has a mischievous air that mixes perfectly with her good-natured heart.
Tucker has the same loyalty as Prue, but his love is shown in a much more straightforward way. Instead of playing the hijinks that Prue devises, he wants...tries to - despite Prue's mischievousness - get his point across. Tucker has the same kind heart that Prue does, causing him to leave his comfy beach home and fly to his friend's rescue.
What they don't realize is the other is just as stubborn as them. That in itself created some of the most amazing tension in a romance that I've read in a long time. Prue's determination matched against Tucker's deep-seated loyalty makes for a hilarious battle.
I loved everything about their romance. There was a kind of passion, born out of a mix of respect, admiration, and a little bit of wonder that made the story pound with energy. Prue and Tucker are perfect for each other, but I loved how the plot forced them to find it out.
Beyond the romance, there was a fascinating character journey, especially for Prue. She begins the story on uneven footing, searching for some common ground to mend fences. As the story progresses, so does she, evolving from the nervous yet determined woman to a fully developed character. Her personal journey was one of the most engaging aspects for me.
All's Fair in Love And Weddings is a lighthearted story of second chances and new beginnings.
All that Prudence wants is to leave the past behind and start a relationship with her family without screwing up. The minute her sister calls her to attend her getaway wedding, Prudence jumps at the chance that she has been waiting for and arrives at the Virgin Islands only to run into a little car trouble who accidentally leads her to meeting Tucker Davies.
Tucker Davies has one goal in mind and that is to prevent his best-friend from making the biggest mistake of his life by marrying someone that he is not supposed to be with. Although Tucker hasn't met his best-friend's fiance, he is determined to stop the wedding from happening to matter what, but little did he know that his luck was about to change the minute he crossed paths with a stranger that he can't get out of his mind.
The minute Prue finds out who the stranger is that saved her and what he is doing in the island, she makes a promise to stop him at any cost, no matter what. But tensions run high, and their attraction towards each other increases as the two start to spend more time together. As soon as Tucker starts to tell Prue about his best-friend and his past relationship, the more Prue starts to question whether her sister is marrying the right guy and if her promise is worth keeping.
I really enjoyed reading All's Fair in Love And Weddings, Feldman does a great job describing where the story takes place; the location alone seemed like a pretty good place for the story and it worked really well. There is a comedic aspect to the story as it has its funny moments and I found myself laughing at the situations that the two main characters put themselves in. I liked Prue's personality the best, she is definitely a loyal sister, and she seems like a good person that one would like to have around. She is not afraid to do what she has to do to get things done, and I liked that about her. Tucker is one that runs with the flow, and apart from being a very attractive guy, he also cares very much for his friend and wants to see him happy. Overall, the story ran smoothly, and it was well-written. The character's are likable, although I would have liked to see a different ending, a bit more detailed epilogue, maybe. (But that's just my preference) The book was a quick read, and I highly recommend it. (Any books by the author will immediately leave you wanting for more) :D

Prue is a great character. She is determined, klutzy, and so loyal. Then bring in Tucker, who is just as loyal, but not nearly as klutzy, and you have an amazing couple. They fight and get into bar fights, save each other from personal panic attacks, and still somehow become friends. The things that Prue puts Tucker through would be enough to have even the calmest , most loyal man running to the hills, yet Tucker hung tight and did not give up on Shawn, his best friend, or Prue.
The location on the beach, had me day dreaming about the waves and impressive hotels. I could picture Prue on the balcony over looking the beach, the ferry that brought everyone to the island, and the bar on the beach. When a book pulls you in so quickly and it becomes something you cannot put down, It has to be a winner of a story.
I believe I have read all of Christine’s books and love them all. This one, All’s Fair in Love and Weddings, is fun and refreshing. I laughed so many times, many times getting odd looks from whoever was sitting near me. When a book can make me laugh out loud I know that I will need to recommend it to my friends.

If you are looking for something fun, filled with humor and mischief, All's Fair In Love And Weddings is right up your alley.
Prue is a carefree woman that I loved instantly. She is quirky, witty, kinda crazy in a good way, and funny in so many ways. She is also very loyal and that is something we don't see in book characters enough.
Tucker is also a loyal friend, a little more on the selfish side to stop the wedding, but he had a point throughout it, if you think about. He was a great person, not the jerk I thought he was. He was a gentleman and a great person overall.
I can only say I LOVE this story. It had me grinning a lot and I read it in 2 hours, give or take a few minutes. It is a very enjoyable story that everyone can read, even young adults can read this. I love love love it!
This light-humor/romance had me smiling throughout the entire book and I actually laughed out loud a few times too! I loved the dual-viewpoint between the two main characters and the banter and conversation between them was fantastic. So was the hilarious situations they found themselves in. I have read several of Christine Feldman's books and have loved every one of them, and this story did not disappoint. It was an entertaining, fast read, and I loved the sweet romance that transpired throughout the story. I look forward to reading more books from Ms. Feldman.
Solid 3.5 stars for me. I thought it was cute. I guess it seemed a little wordy for me at the end, and I found myself skimming to get to the happily ever after. Content: some mild swearing and innuendo.
I really, really, enjoyed this read. This may be Christine Feldman's best romantic comedy yet. It was a little predictable in places, but I couldn't put it down and didn't want it to end. Well done Christine!
I am writing this review with a big smile on my face. Only a short while ago, I took me ages and ages to find clean romance novels that were actually fun to read, and now, after having read several clean 5 star romance novels, I come across this gem. Completely unexpectedly.
This story is not for you if you like your romances hotter than hot. It is all about subtlety, and humor, loads of humor. I did not just finish this novel with a smile, but read it with a smile and many laughs.
It is not just about humor though, it is also about emotions. About Prue going to her sister’s wedding on the Virgin Islands, after having hardly spoken to her for about 8 years due to some unfortunate events in their past, and trying to make it up to her sister.
On her trip to the wedding venue, Prue meets Tucker, who is also going to the same wedding, but with the sole purpose of preventing it from ever taking place, because he has good reasons to assume that the marriage between Prue’s sister and her future husband Shawn is doomed to fail.
What follows is a series of events in which Prue proves herself to be very creative in obstructing Tucker’s efforts in contacting Shawn. Obviously, there is a HEA for everybody involved.
To think that I got this wonderful novel for just $1.09 at Amazon is unbelievable and just doesn’t make sense. Highly recommended (apart from the cover) :-).
For Prue this trip was about family, and hoping she would catch the ferry. A wedding invitation, well at least it was an invitation to come home. For Tucker it was his friend Shawn that got him on a plane. The problem the fool is getting married. Lots of people getting married on.Virgin Island, right, on Friday, right. the name, oh no. Fate did it to her again. Delightful funny way of how things unfold for these two.
Prudence Collier has been estranged from her family for several years so when her sister invites her to her destination wedding she agrees right away. Her car breaks down on the way to the ferry and Tucker Davies stops to give her a ride. Tucker is sure his friend is making a big mistake so he is on his way to stop him from marrying the wrong woman. Prue finally figures out that they are going to the same wedding but she is determined to prevent him from stopping her sister's wedding no matter what it takes. Now that her sister was finally talking to her again, Prue wasn't going to mess it up.
This is a fun story that had me chuckling often. Prue was quite inventive in stopping Tucker from getting to his friend and talking him out of the wedding. Prue had been the type of person who played more than worked when she was younger but has changed and wants her sister to know this so she is determined to be the type of person who had her sister's back and could be depended on. To prove this, she believed she had to make sure Tucker didn't talk to her sister's fiance.
I liked this humorous story and found the writing good and easy to follow. The setting was beautiful and so well described that I could easily picture the ocean and hotel. The only thing I had a problem with was that I didn't like wondering for the first half of the book what Prue did to alienate her family. The fact that she did something years earlier kept being mentioned but we didn't know what it was for a long time. That was annoying.
Tucker was a great guy and a true friend to go to all the trouble of getting to the wedding in order to "save" his friend from making a big mistake. I loved Prue and her determination to help her sister have the wedding she wanted. She was so funny with all the stunts she pulled to keep Tucker away from his friend.
Please note I won a copy of this book in a Tome Tender giveaway.
