The Regen Mini-series has been edited and compiled into a full-length novel.
What if the human body could heal itself? In the 21st century genetic editing went from science fiction to reality.
Zarkon Pharmaceuticals is a biotech company that specializes in regenerative medicine. Martin, an eager neuroscientist at Zarkon, realizes that by studying animals capable of regrowing and regenerating their bodies, they could soon transfer those traits into humans. His research is on the cusp of curing Alzheimer’s, brain damage, severed nerves, spinal cord injuries, and even missing limbs.
The cost becomes apparent when a genetically modified lizard escapes the lab and pets start going missing across San Diego.
Unfortunately, great scientific breakthroughs often come at a hefty price.
All the makings of a great action packed, futuristic, yet attainable, story. Big Pharma greedy bad guy trying to keep miracles away from the common that need it...would never happen, right?!?! But good people prevail...we hope!
I'm not sure I can go hiking in San Diego again without mace or something heavier. You never know what's lurking.
Great character development and story line. Can't wait to see what's in store next...

A pharmaceutical company finds a way to recreate missing limbs...experiments on small lizards, and creates a monster. Lizard escapes lab and starts reproducing. Grows to size of an alligator and starts attacking people. Havoc ensues!
4 stars because this writer really needs to edit better.
3.5 Stars This story covers the converting of one species DNA with another. It doesn't stop there, though. Traits from prehistoric animals also begin to play a part. This is a multiple pov novel, but the author is kind enough to provide a list of characters at the beginning of the book. The story starts off pretty good, but then wanes. At times, the author gets over explanatory and repetitive, which slows the action. I realized that this was a compilation of the novellas. It seems they were combined without further editing. This book reminds me of another book about animals genetically modified, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. There is no closer, so I view this book as 1 of....?

REALLY good story, but my reading pace kept getting interrupted by homophones. I like the upgrade to Kindle that allows me to make a note to highlight things like homophones and the author/publisher be able to see it.
It's been some time since I had a biology class, so I can't comment on the hard biological sciences in the book, but the story is a barn burner. I've got a knee, a hip, a shoulder, my heart, eyes, and pancreas that could benefit from an injection.
Genetically created smart regenerative lizards make for a decent horror story. A couple of psychopaths are also a significant horror factor. The lizards are smart but have 'knowledge' that is not logical per story, this distracts slightly from the story. Action is intense. Rating 4.5 stars.

Man this book is off the charts. You got to read it. I stayed up day and night reading this book to get to the end. It's nothing like a science fiction book that I've ever had. It'll be well worth your time to read it. Kudos to the author.!!
I started off not liking the story at all. I got caught up in the action and was swept along. Everything from intelligent, genetically engineered, lizards to Mexican drug cartel leaders.
If you love speculative fiction & the monster movie genre, definitely a read for you. It's the great start to a series and sets a strong story for a science fiction procedural type. Can't wait to read more adventures of the HUNT team!
While the lab experiment gone rogue is not a new idea, this story had hints of true originality. The characters seemed authentic and the action was at times truly breathtaking. I look forward to more from this author.
