The Six Olympians are stuck training in camp, waiting, the threat of an attack looming. And then everything changes. The prophecy reveals new information, throwing them into a journey to campaign for more followers as the urgency to stop Kronos rises because of his continued tantrums sweeping th world in the form of illness and disaster. Will they be able to recruit, find the scythe, and complete the prophecy? Is it even what they think it means? And will new characters make... or break them?
Every book in this series leaves me wanting to read more, I cannot wait to read the next book or books in the series. I really want to know what happens next.
The novel is perfect for young people (12 and upwards), because it is simple written and the plot is easy to follow. Eventhough the book digs deeper in aspects like love, the darkness in oneself or self-esteem, I consider these themes more fitting for adolescents trying to find their own identity. Nevertheless it is a beautiful story older people could enjoy, too. However, I don’t think they’re fond of the way the story gets told. In all three books I noticed that the plot is really fast paced without much or long descriptions of the setting and surroundings. Also, the obstacles the young gods face are pretty much solved in the same minute (besides Kronos and Atlas, ect.). Honestly, I don’t think the fast pace is extremly bad, because this way the whole book is thrilling. It is just that in my opinion you could get to know the characters better if the plot happened a little bit slower. Especially, since it is a multi-perspective book, which I also really like, but it contributes to the fact that it is harder to get to know one of the characters better. Nonetheless, in my opinion the author does a good job to differentiate between the six main characters. Zack I would describe as the typical athletic teenage boy with his arrogance. I am curious what will happen to him to become the promised leader, because I feel like Hailey is more of the leader than him still everyone praises him as the leader. Hailey is the smart and confident girl. I really appreciate abot her character that she is independent, but also in love with Zack. She stays true to herself and shows you can be in love at the same time. Peter is the nice guy with labrador energy at the same time still a great fighter. He is really sympathetic and not judgemental. While all other teenagers aren’t happy about Wendy’s presence at camp, he still tries his best to be friendly. Okay maybe she is also his crush. It is still cute that his favourite story ist Peter Pan and his love interest’s name is also Wendy. Next we have Harry. He is described to be more of a loner and if I remember correctly he is interested in poetry and books. He is also more of a good guy, although he struggles with his inner dark side. I think it is really fitting for his character and makes him more interesting. Than my favourite, Aubrey. She isn’t portrayed as the mean girl like in many other adoptions of greek mythology. I would rather describe her as an introverted empath. As the goddess of love she feels, especially love, more deeply. She is a kind girl who still struggles a little bit with belonging since she found out she isn’t part of the prophecy like she used to think. This leads to another point I think the author could have done better: to keep the struggles. I feel that, if you found out you actually don’t belong to something like you thought you would you would crash out more. It was also with Zack when he thought he wasn’t a good leader. The problems disappear so fast. Even Harry who ended things with Aubrey out of fear of hurting her, holds hands with her in the end of the book. Don’t get me wrong I love their relationship, albeit it feels unnecessary when the problem/plot point is over so fast. Hallie, I don’t have much to say about her, because I feel like we don’t get much information about her besides that she truly feels the emotions from others and her love for Demeter. You can distinguish the characters, but a lot of how the characters are you know, because the other character constantly remind you how another character is/ how theyself are. The plot of the book is good and fascinating. I was really exited what will happen next even though this book kinda reminded me of the last book with the imprisonment. In spite of that it was interesting to see more of Kronos. I would have loved to read about him engage with Harry and the deal they kind of have made. I was glad the young gods finally had great achievements (getting the scythe and Mount Olymp back). This book has defintly more potential. I could imagine a dark twist would be perfect for this story, which will most likely never happen since it’s a young adult book. With dark twist I don’t mean they will not defeat Kronos more that due to the war they will drastically change and become more like the gods we know from the myths. For example, Harry is already fighting with his dark side, Zack’s arrogance and constantly mentioning they loose their humanity. Personally, this book would be perfect for no happy ending, where you will bawl your eyes out. All in all, I really like this book, but I still think the story itself has more potential than what the author did out of it. I know there are two more books supposed to follow after this one, but I could imagine that it is hard to reach the potential when all already published books have around 300 pages. So exiced for the next part and what will happen to the characters.

Rick Riordan is rolling somewhere in the US right now… I am all for reinterpretations of classic stories and incorporating elements for mythology and previous works into a new retelling. This entire series is so far, I have been holding out hope that somehow the story and the writing and the concept improves… But it hasn’t. If I could take a shot for every time “f*ck” was written, I would be absolutely plastered by the end of this book. The profanity does not enhance the story in any way. Not to mention, the world building is insane. You have so many different characters interacting with each other in every scene that the reader themselves get lost. Not to mention, the inaccuracy of some of the relationships formed between the characters is kind of astonishingly inaccurate. Persephone and amphitrite are non existent in this universe (interesting choice). At this point, I’m not even gonna waste my time or money purchasing the next release… This is just Percy Jackson retold to an older audience through a different lens. Save your money, go invest in something different. I know I’m being harsh, and by no means do I want to discourage people from reading this, but the series is not for everyone. I really enjoy the concept and the idea, but the way that it’s choosing to be retold and written is just really disappointing for me personally.
Peter is by my favorite and I love he got his moments in this. I Also have no idea what to feel About Wendy. I did not like her in the begining but I am warming up to her. I'm also warming up to Jake. Also What Harry did To Aubrey what is wrong whit him.
But I realy enyod it.

Absolutely amazing! This is the fastest I've ever read a book, 10 days omg. The storyline is amazing, the characters are beautifully written out and the plot twists are insane. I can't wait for the next book to come out!
