In Wynbridge, the scent of autumn is on the breeze and love is in the air…
Clemmie Bennett has been renovating beautiful Rowan Cottage on the outskirts of the small town of Wynbridge, for eighteen months following a very public heartbreak back in her childhood hometown. The popular Instagram influencer, lost her husband, sold their home, and has been cosied up the Fens and living a very private life, but now she feels it’s time for a change.
A chance encounter with co-owner of The Cherry Tree Café, the bubbly Lizzie Dixon, pulls her into organizing Wynbridge’s first-ever Autumn Festival, and her once quiet life is soon a distant memory. With the whole town rallying behind the event, she discovers a new sense of purpose.
And when local vet Ash falls hard for Clemmie, she begins to wonder if she’s ready to move even further on from her past and fall in love again…
This autumn, cosy up with Heidi and this perfect seasonal romance.
Although passionate about writing from an early age, Heidi Swain gained a degree in Literature, flirted briefly with a newspaper career, married and had two children before she finally plucked up the courage to join a creative writing class and take her literary ambitions seriously.
A lover of Galaxy bars, vintage paraphernalia and the odd bottle of fizz, she now writes contemporary fiction and enjoys the company of a whole host of feisty female characters.
Heidi can be found at the keyboard at all hours of the day and night and quite often scribbling longhand in her car during her lunch break. She lives in stunning south Norfolk with her wonderful son and daughter and a mischievous cat called Storm.
Heidi Swain has a tried-and-true formula that always hits the mark, and this book is no exception! It takes us back to the charming fictional town of Wynbridge, where we’ll see familiar faces. But this is the first book (I think) to feature a beautiful autumn setting.
Now, the ‘formula’ might not be everyone’s cup of tea. There aren’t many surprises, problems are solved quickly and easily, and even the bad guys turn out to be good in the end. But hey, this is cosy fiction at its finest! The stakes are low and stay that way, making it a perfect read for the cosiest season of the year.
I loved the idea of this book but in my opinion the main character was all wrong and not suited to the seasonal theme. If Clemmie was a real person, we would NOT be friends 😂
As a huge fan of the Autumn season myself, Clemmie is a girl after my own heart. She is the creative behind a hugely successful Instagram account focussed solely on Autumn, albeit anonymously. Clemmie has experienced tragic loss leaving her a young widow. To try to come to terms with her heartache and grief she has spent 18 months working on restoring Rowan Cottage on the outskirts of Wynbridge. After a chance meeting with Lizzie from the Cherry Tree Café, she cautiously agrees to become involved with organising an Autumn festival in the town. If you have read any of Heidi’s Wynbridge books before you will be delighted to see characters and locations from the previous novels popping up. However, this book is entirely standalone so don’t worry if you haven’t – you’ll enjoy it anyway.
Wynbridge was already one of my favourite fictional locations and if I felt it was somewhere I’d want to visit before, well I’d love to even more now. I adored the sound of the Autumn festival and all the brilliant events taking place: yarn bombing, a window dressing competition, Autumn themed book groups, Autumn treats in the Cherry Tree Café, a pumpkin picking patch, a community Autumn feast in a barn, and craft workshops. And that’s just some of them – count me in!
Clemmie had become rather reclusive and understandably frightened to give her heart away so she wouldn’t have to experience the pain of loss again. Much to her surprise, she finds herself giving her heart to a little dog called Pixie. These two really are the perfect match and so good for each other. As Clemmie begins to take risks and her life gets fuller again, will she also risk her heart with handsome local vet Ash? I did so hope that their tentative friendship might grow into something more. Heidi Swain is so good at capturing the complex feelings in the romantic lives of her characters and making them feel so real.
All Wrapped Up really is the perfect Autumn read to curl up with in the ‘ber’ months. The word cosy is maybe a little over used in the book world right now but there couldn’t be a better word to describe this lovely book.

Oh, this book!! It's like a cosy, warm hug inbetween covers. Every time I picked it up I felt all warm and cosy and it was so good to be back in Wynbridge.
Clemmie - my heart went out to her so many times. Still grieving for her husband and thinking she shouldn't/or isn't ready to move on. I felt like giving her a hug so many times. Luckily she ended up with little Pixie for cuddles. I loved how Pixie was her emotional support. Having had our pup for 8 months now, she is exactly the same and is so loving when she feels one of us is not quite right. I loved how Clemmie and Pixie supported each other though as they'd both lost someone so close to them 🩷
Ash - he is just an adorable man, but I was a little frustrated with him at times. I wished and wished he would just tell Clemmie how he felt. You could tell straight away how much he liked her, but didn't want to admit.
It was so good to see the other characters, especially the girls from The Cherry Tree Cafe. Another great read from Heidi and I definitely need to bump the other books up my TBR.
Heidi has now written 21 books, I’ve had the pleasure of reading or listening to 20 of them. I love that she takes the reader back to familiar places. In this book, I felt like I had landed in Stars Hollow. The vibe and the love in the community, the togetherness, so heart warming and familiar. Of course Heidi has brought us back to Wynbridge, I literally whooped when I read the name Cuckoo Cottage as being close to one of the locations in the book, the converted barn in which Ash is staying. Yes, Ash the dashing vet. Of course it’s not centre stage, she’s saved that for the cosy cottage named ‘Rowan Cottage’ in which widow Clemmie has been hiding for the past 18 months, having sold up and left her life behind to heal and grow at her own pace. Cranky Jason is the star of the book for me as well as the gorgeous Pixie, the dog. My heart warmed at the mention of Germany too. So many things to connect with. Now Clemmie is a very talented person and loves Autumn, she also have a very popular and extremely secret Instagram Account. Clemmie’s journey is written at an even pace, she can be quite snappy at times and overbearing. Although grief can do that to a person. As a CPTSD sufferer, I could see where her battles with the here and now stemmed from and Heidi handled that aspect with great sensitivity. Soon, she is involved in all kinds of activities in the town thanks to the Cherry Tree Café girls and their gossipy employee Joanne. Her friendship with Ash isn’t all plain sailing, you can’t hurry or deny love, or can you? As to be expected her romance thread is set up expertly with all the ups and downs to match. I enjoyed this book so much, I read it in 3 sittings, it’s probably in my top 5 of the Heidi Swain collection. Recommended for existing fans and those new to her sincere writing style. Loved that Magical Molly made an appearance too.
This book looks so lovely and that alone just draws you to it. When you start to read it, it continues to draw you in. It can be described as that lovely blanket of a book that has the reader completely wrapped up in the story. Autumn is my favourite season and Heidi certainly conjures up a really accurate feeling of this season. The description of the house too continues this theme. It is set in Norfolk and having lived there for a short while, I can easily picture the landscape. There are plenty of reviews of the story line and the characters so I won't take the time to review those aspects. What I will say is , although I love Autumn, I really do not like Halloween so an Autumn festival is a lovely idea and for it to conclude with Halloween and then Bonfire night is so much better than concentrating on Halloween. It is so beautifully written that it is so easy to see the festival in your imagination and you feel as if you are right there joining in with everything. This book also wins for me because the library gets several mentions and Heidi shows how much libraries can and are, vital parts of communities. It talks about the library staff running the book club and also about Bounce and Rhyme. Both of these things I did in my library career and it is lovely to see them getting mentioned. The description of the flying honking geese was also really special. When I lived in my village as a child, you would hear them and see them flying and this made me feel grateful that I had and also, made me feel cosy. Now, of course, the book is predictable but the readership of these novels know that, want it, and expect it and we are happy to see this happen. What I particularly liked about this, was though this didn't happen right at the end but almost at the end, it gives the reader an insight as to how things will develop. I have read 3 of Heidi's and I have to say, I think this is my favourite so far. A lovely, cosy read. Perfect for the season.
Seasonal books are always fantastic, and this influx of autumnal books is terrific, so cosy, like a hug in a book! We travel to Wynbridge, where influencer Clemmie Bridge has lived for the past 18 months. She's kept herself to herself, renovating and decorating her cottage, as well as building up a community of autumn-loving followers on her Instagram account that is all things Autumn. A chance meeting with a local who has decided to pop in and visit the reclusive new resident gets Clemmie involved in a huge local autumn festival - something she would love, but also something that could catapult her back into an awful situation she had removed herself from previously. The book is a journey for Clemmie as she slowly builds her trust in a few people and begins to engage with the local community, all while protecting her fragile heart. Clemmie meets some real characters, including Lizzie, who is the reason she finally gets out into the real world, along with the other Cherry Tree Cafe girls, and Molly, the local 'witch' as well as Ash, the gorgeous, sensitive vet who is there for Clemmie in many situations, but will he help her to heal her heart? Of course, I can't review this book without mentioning Pixie the little rescue dog who Clemmie finds herself with - a beautiful bundle of love who helps to anchor her. There is sadness, but there is also hope. There is grief, alongside acceptance. And there is autumn - lots of it! Many thanks to NetGalley and Simon and Schuster for an ARC.
A huge thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read a copy of this e-arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I call Heidi the queen of Christmas because she nails a season so well and this is no different. It read somewhere that it was like stepping into Stars Hollow and honestly it really is. Wynbridge at Christmas is like stepping into Stars Hollow so this was next level. I promise I'll stop comparing this to her Christmas books but I just love how Heidi knows how to describe a season so well.
From the colours that Autumn brings to the festivites we have all come to know and love (Pumpkin picking to even a recent and epic trend Yarn Bombing. This book has it all.
You know what you get with a Heidi Swain book and this is no exception, there's community spirit and a bit of romance too but this one also gave us something else, a story from a different angle. A young widow who was trying to keep to herself to process her grief. We meet her as she becomes ready to enter the real world again and what a town to do it in.
Is the book full of surprises- no not really. Does it fill your heart with joy - yes in spades!
So there we have it a 4-star review and I can't wait to pick up Heidi's next book and the rest like I always do.
It was a joy to read this autumn themed story that had the most lovely main characters who you really end up loving . The background of autumn and all the little details for autumn are just spot on, even down to the autumn fairy & decorating the home for autumn .. that’s like a bit right out of my life … a few sad moments but it’s soon lifted with getting your mojo and the spring in your step back and all the time your HEA is under your nose ! Lots of humor and warmth and a nice dose of small town friendship Vibes to make you feel warm & cozy .
It’s a refreshing feeling reading such a happy inspiring funny cozy small town vibes book that’s set in AUTUMN in the UK thats not cheesy . This book is a keeper for my bookshelf.
I listened on audio and read the book when had time and filled up with tears twice in the car whilst listening . Happy tears 🥹
Great narration on audio
From one Heidi to another .. PERFECT.. could not fault it .
A great autumn read, I loved the autumn theme and all the cosy descriptions, really got me into the autumn festival mood, so nice to see books celebrating a season that isn’t just Christmas or summer, as you can tell from reading, there is so much fun to had in autumn.
The story line of Clemmie loosing her husband and how she deals with it was really very touching and real, so many relatable thoughts and feelings. Ash is amazing too, he shows Clemmie that she can open her heart again and believe in love, plus Pixie the little dog is so cute.
Heidi Swain has done it again, a real page turner and thoughtful writing, great for curling up in front of the fire with on a dark autumn evening.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. This is my first read of a book by this author. I am aware she is popular and I can now see why. The plan for a series set in a lovely town, where you can read most books out of sequence with only a few minor spoilers being revealed, is a good idea. That said, and even with someone still grieving as the main character, I found it too optimistic. Every problem was easily overcome and quite quickly so it appeared to me to be quite formulaic. Perhaps this is because it’s the eleventh book in the series and the author is running out of ideas.
I love Wynbridge and it was lovely to pay an Autumnal visit. The storyline was beautiful and I was willing Clemmie on as she decides it’s time to face up to new challenges now her cottage makeover is complete. Clemmie takes it slowly but soon finds herself caught up in the Autumn Festival planning through meeting new friends especially Lizzy from The Cherry Tree Cafe and a special four legged friend called Pixie. Ash is the local vet and he becomes a friend as well as deputy for the Autumn Festival but could he be more. Lovely to meet up with characters from previous books. A delightful, emotional, feel good read, perfect to curl up with as the season changes.
If you‘re looking for a cosy small-town story, this one‘s perfect! It‘s set in rural England and features a cute cottage and an autumn festival. The main character is the young widow Clemmie. There‘s also a very cute small dog called Pixie, and a handsome vet called Ash, and lots of townsfolk.
Although this is part of a series, I had no problem reading it as a stand-alone, although I liked the writing so much that I really want to read other parts of the series or other books by Heidi Swain.
I‘m not sure if I‘d call it a romance because that part is not at the forefront, at least not in the first half or so. But it‘s really enjoyable women‘s fiction, with a great ensemble of characters and a lovely setting with a lot of autumn vibes (more sunny September and October than grey November, but that was okay).
4,5 Sterne!!
A moving Fall romance that sees a grieving young widow coming back to life and taking a second chance on love again when she is persuaded to help organize her small English town’s first Autumn festival with help from a charming single man and his rescue dog. This was a light-hearted, cozy feel good read that was also good on audio. Recommended for fans of authors like Karen Swan or Sarah Morgan.
A brilliant heartwarming cosy Autumn read. I really enjoyed reading this as I haven’t come across many Autumn themed books so it’s a nice change and I love Heidi Swain’s writing so that is a plus.
