I love and respect animals so much, cats are our Sons & Daughters. I dedicate this review to our dearest Marigold, who went to Heaven this morning at home. We mammals are alike in complex minds, spirits, goals, preferences, joys, experience, histories, discomforts. They skip pettiness and are not weighed down by that baggage. They value every inch of life, are infinitely strong and courageous, loving, forgiving, fun, loyal, and patient.
I have been learning spiritual and energy healing to do my best to help our Spirit, who went to Heaven in January and then our sweetest Marigold. Books may be written for people but I applied whatever Spirit & Marigold needed to them. Energy medicine and spirituality are universal, of course. The notion of metaphysical causes for physical problems does not fly for animals. Lise Bourbeau repeats a few similar issues no matter which ailment you look up, which sound like faults. Humans do need to do better in self-care, life issues, and paying attention to feelings, spirits, and bodies. Lise takes a loving approach and offers to help. However, you do not blame people for sicknesses. A dear little cat has never made bad judgements, nor ever deserved to be unwell.
Because this is a dictionary, I read all around it and a few ailments of family interest. The quotes from Hippocrates are inspiring, about how doctors should look at whole bodies and souls individually; not design one pill or plan for all philosophies and histories. I bought “Your Body’s Telling You: Love Yourself!”, 1997 for my Mom and hope it sparked ideas for her. It stretches and misses too much for me, now that I have begun to learn about energy medicine. It is simply about setting energy flowing as right as rain, without placing any blame.
