My time in the military changed me and when I came back home to Jasper Ridge, I retreated to the mountains. It’s quiet and safe here, but it’s lonely as well. I’ve made my peace with it. I have my cabin, I have my dog, I have my solitude. What more could I want?

I’ve been feeling stuck and suffocated for far too long. I hate my job. My brother, who is part of the Devil’s Saints MC, will always see me as his younger sister instead of a woman who knows her own mind. As the holidays roll around, I’m determined to do something about it.

If Santa could give me a sign, that would be great, especially with my brother out of town. I have an opportunity and I don’t want to let it pass me by. When I come across a way to get out of town and head somewhere new, getting married to a stranger feels like a fair trade. I never expected Gannon to be my intended husband.

He’s gruff and grumpy, but I’m used to men like that. The surprise on his face when I show up on his doorstep doesn’t deter me, and the way it morphs into heat tells me married life will be better than I was anticipating. I’ll remind my new husband what Christmas is all about and then we’ll build a life together that’s worth living.

Me encantó la historia de amor de Lake y Gannon! Me pareció cálida, sexy y linda con un añadido de drama de hermanos.

Me gustó mucho esta pareja y disfruté su tiempo en la cabaña mientras exploran su conexión instantánea. Ellos estaban destinados a encontrarse para tener su final feliz. Gannon la llamaba su Pequeño regalo, qué nombre más perfecto con la navidad cerca. Ella le ayudó a sanar su herida y se hicieron el más lindo de los regalos: el amor.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Gannon and Lake met when she leaves Seattle and heads to Jasper Ridge Wyoming because she answered an ad for a mail order bride. When Lake arrives Gannon has no idea what Lake is talking about he never put an ad out for a mail order bride. Lake is humiliated and wants the earth to swallow her, she can't believe she quit her job and drove all this way. Lake's parents took off on her and her brother when she turned eighteen, her brother stepped up trying to give her a home. When Lake's brother leaves town she leaves Seattle to head to Jasper Ridge so that her brother, Nico doesn't stop her because he's very overprotective. Gannon tells Lake he didn't put an ad up for a mail order bride and doesn't know who did this. Gannon and Lake aren't sure what to do so he lets her stay in his guest bedroom. They want to figure this out and see what happens. After they head to bed, Lake can't sleep, then she hears a pained moan and realizes it's coming from Gannon's bedroom. Lake heads to Gannon's room, and knows that he needs her. Lake opens his door and sees his body covered in sweat, when Gannon kicks the covers off of him she sees he's naked. Lake calls his name loud into the room, even though she knows he won't hurt her she doesn't get close to the bed. Gannon eyes snap open and Lake covers his body with hers. Lake tells him she sorry for waking him but he sounded like he was in pain, Gannon tells her he's sorry for waking her he has nightmares. Lake sits up and straddles his lap then slides down his body Gannon asks her what she's doing. Lake tells him she doesn't know and begins to pleasure him. When Gannon wants to pleasure her Lake tells him that was all for him she wanted to slay his demons. Gannon wakes the next morning with Lake laying in his arms, and when he looks down at her her eyes open. Lake tells him morning, and Gannon apologies again about last night. Lake tells him he has nothing to apologies about, then her stomach growls, and Gannon asks her if she's hungry. Gannon gets dress and heads to make them breakfast, while he tells Lake to get ready. While they're eating Gannon tells Lake that he wants to head down the mountain, there's a storm coming and he wants to grab supplies. They take a walk after breakfast Gannon shows Lake around his property and where the generator is. While they are shopping several people stop and Gannon introduces Lake, everyone seems to love her. Gannon introduces Lake to Albert and Elaine Lang who helped him when he went into the service to raise his brother Slade who has a son Hollis who's the same age. The storm comes in and they are stuck in the house together for a few days. They get to know one another, Lake's been sleeping in Gannon's room but leaves her things in the guest bedroom. Lake gets ready to head back into town for the Christmas parade, but Gannon has other ideas. Gannon tells her he wants her and wants to show her who she belongs to, Lake tells him she wants him. Gannon pleasures Lake then they make love. They head into town and Gannon introduces Lake to more people, and she welcomes everyone with open arms and an open heart. Lake wants to stay in Jasper Ridge with Gannon it feels like home. They haven't had a conversation about what will happen and they both know they need to. Gannon heads into town and Lake tells him she'll stay at the cabin. Lake realizes while Gannon is gone that she forgot to take her birth control, she looks through her bags and can't find it. Lake soon realizes that Gannon is standing in the door way and he tells her she's not going to find it. Lake asks him what does he mean, when she's about to cry Gannon and cups her face and asks her why she looks like she's about to cry. Lake tells him she doesn't know, she doesn't know what they're doing, and a decision has to be made. Lake confesses that she's falling in love with Gannon, with his dog, his house and place, everything. Gannon tells her she's not going anywhere, she's his. Lake tells Gannon they haven't talked yet, about their future, she doesn't know what to do she doesn't want to leave. When Lake tells him she can't find her birth control pills Gannon tells her she won't find them, he flushed them. Gannon tells her he wants her pregnant, and pulls her into his arms. Gannon tells her he wants her things moved into his room, he wants her to be his wife. Gannon has a ring in his hand, he tells Lake she told him she was falling in love with him, but he's fallen in love with her. Gannon tells her he loves her, and she's not leaving he wants to build a life with her. Gannon puts the ring on Lake's finger and she asks him if he's going to asks. Gannon tells Lake he doesn't need to she already said yes. Gannon and Lake make love, he tells her he loves her and she tells him she loves him. Gannon and Lake head into town to buy a Christmas tree and decorations. They don't find much since it's a few days before Christmas. They sit and watch the fire place with hot cocoa, Lake tells Gannon she doesn't want anything for Christmas, just being here is enough for her. When Lake's phone starts ring she knows she needs to answer her brother, after they talk her brother Nico tells her he'll be home soon. Lake tells her brother again that she's not home, her brother asks her why she left and what she's doing. Lake confesses why she's in Wyoming and that she met someone. Lake's brother starts yelling at her over the phone, then she starts to cry and that's when Gannon takes her phone from her. Gannon tells Nico that he won't have someone making Lake cry, when her brother asks who this is. Gannon gives Nico his history and all about himself, he tells him to do a full search on him he has nothing to hide. Gannon tells Nico he's going to marry Lake in a few days and he would like it if he was there, then hangs up the phone. Lake wraps her arms around Gannon and tells him she loves him. They head to the courthouse a few days later to get married, Eliane and Albert Lang show up. When they're just about to head inside, Nico comes. Nico apologies to Lake for what he said to her over the phone, and he's not going to stand in her way if this is what she wants. The ceremony doesn't take long, Elaine tells Gannon and Lake that she's the one that put the ad up and the Lang's are holding a reception at their house for them. Everyone congratulates them giving them hugs. Gannon is happy he's no longer isolated up on the mountain. The head home after the reception and Gannon carries Lake into their house. Their lives are just starting what comes next is up to them, but they'll be standing together through it all. Five months later, Gannon and Lake head to Seattle, they pack up her things to take back to Jasper Ridge. Gannon and Lake head to the DSMC clubhouse. Gannon and Nico are playing pool, Lake is so happy they get along so well. When Gannon slides up to kiss Lake she tells him she has a surprise for him, then she tells him she's pregnant. Gannon tells her she needs to repeat that so Lake tells him again. Nico walks over and Lake tells him he's going to be an uncle. Nico tells everyone they need to celebrate. Lake tells Gannon she's glade he accept her as his mail order bride.

Part of the Mistletoe Love series each can be read as a standalone with a scrooge who needs some cheering up. Lake is such a sweetheart considering she was raised by her brother after being forgotten by her parents but like most brothers he is extremely overprotective she just wants to live just a little but her brother is holding on just a little too tight, she just wants to live life her way playing by her rules and while her brother is out of town she decides to sign herself up to be a mail order bride to a retired soldier in Wyoming knowing her brother is going to kill her. Gannon sexy as all get out recluse retired military living alone in his cabin out of guilt after returning home from the military tortured trying his best to deal with his demons alone so when a young women shows up claiming to be his bride he is truly confused she explained she answered an ad that he placed but that is the thing he didn’t place an ad yet he can’t or won’t turn her away she calms his inner turmoil like nothing has before so he offers to allow her to stay just until they figure out what or who placed the ad. The magnetic pull between these two can’t be ignored and the more they try the stronger it grows and he instantly protects her and she protect they are perfect but can they stand up to her brother together, can she help him with his demons, and can they find happiness despite meeting through mail order brides?

Born to careless parents, Lake was practically raised by her older brother, Nico. She’s grateful she had him and that he’s helped take care of her all these years.
But now, she’s grown up and Nico is a little too overprotective. Lake is lonely and feeling stifled by life, and her brother. She’s looking for a change and to live life on her own terms while her brother is out of town when she stumbles across a personals ad seeking a bride for a lonely ex-soldier in Wyoming. When she responds to the ad, she’s pleasantly surprised that they hit it off through email so she packs up and sets off for Jasper Ridge.
Gannon Parsons isn’t quite a recluse, but he’s pretty close. He’s holed up in his remote cabin, avoiding people and essentially exiling himself in punishment ever since returning home from the military. He’s more very confused when Lake shows up on his doorstep spouting nonsense about an ad and being his bride. He’s just fine with it just being him and his dog, Storm and he definitely didn’t put an ad out looking for a wife. So why then, can he not bring himself to turn her away. Instead, offering to let her stay so they can figure it out.
And why does it feel like he’s just received the best present ever?

Mail Order Bride for the Scrooge by Ember Davis is part of the multi-author Mistletoe Love series. This is a sweet and spicy short read with an inviting and lovable story. Lake is looking to make a change in her life and find where she belongs. She grew up in Seattle, being raised by parents who did not care and an older brother that took care of her and made sure she had the things and love that she needed. She has a good job but is not happy. So one night she sees an ad on the internet for a mail order bride and decides to contact the man. After a few more emails she is invited to come to Jasper Ridge, Wyoming with the understanding they will be married. Gannon is ex-military who has moved back to his hometown of Jasper Ridge. But he suffers from PTSD and so has built a cabin up on the mountain and away from town. He is really a hermit to the town, even though there are people who really care for me. Lake packs up her care, puts her belongings is storage and gives up her apartment. She is on the adventure of a lifetime, not sure what she will find when she arrives. The one thing she was not expecting was to find a huge and sexy man who knew nothing about her. It seems someone is playing cupid for Gannon and he is hit with an arrow to the heart....or maybe getting an early Christmas present.

Stardust and forever!

I love Lake for Gannon and Storm! And I am super excited that this book launches a new Jasper Ridge series.
We have met both their siblings in other series this year, but Gannon and Lake join everything together with a huge Christmas bow, a lovely Christmas gift, thank you Ember.
Gannon is tortured, fighting so many demons and whilst Storm helps he cannot drag him into the light he needs to fight his way free. Lake bursts into his life with so much light, sweetness and love that she has wormed her way into his heart before he catches his breath enough to even attempt to resist.
Lake is so brave and strong, she knows deep in her soul that Gannon is right for her the moment she sees him, he is everything she would wish for if she had been brave enough to wish. Unlike Nico, who trys to protect her from everything, Gannon stands strong by her side as she fights her own battles, yet with a single nod he steps forward to slay her dragons for her, he instinctively knows just what she needs.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This instant love story is about two people who need a change in direction. Gannon believes that his life is set up the best it can be after coming back from service. He struggles with the past and keeps himself isolated because of it. There are those that claim him as family and want the best for him. Lake felt that she had to take drastic steps to find what was missing in her life. An ad gives her the opportunity to take a big leap of faith into the unknown. The girl had some amazing strength and bravery to leave the safety of the MC to find what was out there for her. Gannon didn't expect her but she became his regardless. The mysterious bride posting was their chance for fate to step in. I liked both characters and the storyline. I do wish that the last of the book was as detailed as the beginning. I guess I wanted more involvement from Crucify and the MC considering the circumstances of her leaving. Overall it's a great story with plenty of passion, humor and emotions

This book is a part of the Mistletoe Love series and focuses on Gannon and Lake. Growing up, Lake only had her brother to rely on since their parents were not the type of parents to care about their kids in any capacity. While she was close to her brother, she had started to yearn for something more that was just for her. She decided to sign up to be a mail order bride and move to a whole new place. She's expecting Gannon but she wasn't expecting that he had no idea about her and that he had definitely not signed up for a mail order bride. Gannon instantly felt drawn to Lake and it didn't take long for him to realize that Lake was everything that he never knew he needed in life. He knew that she was his forever and went to work on getting her to stay with him forever. I loved everything about Gannon and Lake together! This was such a great story and a great addition to the series.

After driving from Seattle to Jasper Ridge, Wyoming, Lake’s stunned to find that Gannon never placed an ad for a mail order bride, though he offers to let her stay while they figure things out. The pair are drawn to one another and begin to connect with one another, forming a connection they never expected. Loved how Janelle was able to win Gannon over and get him to open up, and when she stood up to Nico about what she needed in life, Gannon and Jasper Ridge. Hot and steamy grumpy sunshine, military, mail order bride, mountain man romance with a spunky, strong FMC and an MMC who supports her.

This was such a fun read and I knew I'd be fully hooked after reading that blurb ;) I cannot even imagine showing up to be a mail-order bride and have the prospective groom know nothing about me or our intended wedding. This is what happened to Lake when she arrived at Gannon's cabin. Of course, he really was quite smitten with her right from the beginning, despite his grumpy face - and so was his dog ;D These two take some time to let their chemistry heat up between them but avoided the talk about the future until it was almost too late. They certainly deserved their HEA and I love that her brother found a way to approve. There are also a couple of wonderful epilogues to finish their romance off beautifully :D

I loved this quick read! Lake and Gannon just worked so well together. With that little voice telling her to take a chance and start this adventure and with his almost immediate male reaction to her, fate has definitely played a part in their pairing. It doesn’t take long at all for them to both realize that this is forever. There is some brief angst and self-doubt on both sides that is quickly squashed and ends as always, with a HEA.

I love how Davis mentions relationships with peripheral characters from other series/books, this time from DSMC and the Denver family. Truly a sweet present for the holiday season. I highly recommend and look forward to the next one!.

Lake has been unhappy with her life for sometime, she hates her job. Her brother tries but he has his own life with Devil’s Saints MC. When she comes across an add for a bride, it seems to be the perfect answer. Except when she drives from Seattle to Wyoming, he has not idea what she is talking about.

Gannon came back to Jasper Ridge after he was discharged from the military. He built a cabin in the mountains for solitude. When a woman shows up saying she is his bride to be, he knows someone has meddled.

He just cannot bring himself to tell Lake to leave, so he offers her the spare bedroom. The more time he spends with her the more he likes the idea of her being his wife.

Gannon is a former Marine with some demons. He returned to his hometown of Jasper, Wyoming and built a cabin (house) in the woods. Lake is a brave woman ready to make a major change in her life when she answers an ad for a mail order bride. I loved her bravery and her sass. I adored how she was able to read Gannon from the very beginning. I loved Gannon’s protective nature. I loved how he cares for Lake. I loved the hot times between them and how they were so uninhibited together. Hot.
Did I mention he chops wood?
This was a fast and fun holiday read.

Loved it! Lake really set out to change her life and she did it - even better than she could have ever imagined. Gannon was a total grump but even he recognized what was in front of him.

My favorite thing about any and all of Ember Davis’s books is that there is always at least one connection, if not more, to another of her books or to a series of books. There are familiar friends and new friends.

This book, just like all her others, makes me so happy! Gannon and Lake are everything beautiful and amazing. And the chemistry that they share is off the charts. So good! ❤️.

I loved Mail Order Bride for the Scrooge. This was an amazing story. Lake answers a request for a mail order bride but unfortunately, Gannon didn’t know anything about it. Fortunately, he’s seems keen on keeping her like she wants to be kept. He’s damaged, she’s trying to find her own way. They have the amazing chemistry that you can’t wait to read about like in every Ember Davis story. It was an amazing storyline and I loved the characters. I can’t wait to read Nico’s story, hopefully he gets one. I would definitely recommend this book and everything by Ember Davis.

Mail Order Bride for the Scrooge (Mistletoe Love Series) by Ember Davis. I’ve read most of this series by multi authors and all can be read as standalones. This one really stuck out to me; characters seem so relatable even though the drama was a bit OTT. I enjoyed the way Lake was finally ready to move on with her life and do something for herself. Gannon had no idea what was going on but after taking one look at Lake and recognizing the feelings she stirred, drew him in and he was ready for the ride. Good short story with just the right mix of heart, heat, and HEA.

Lake left her brother and home in Seattle after answering an ad for a mail order bride. Lake loved her over protective brother but she wasn't happy with her life. After arriving at Gannon's cabin Lake finds out that Gannon has no clue who she is and that he never put out an ad. Such a sweet read between a torture ex military man and a girl just trying to find her way.
There is a few typos but doesn't take away from the story.

Love this series.

I enjoy series of stories and when it includes Christmas, I am over the top happy. Loved the love story of Gannon and Lake. It was like two halves became whole. She's from Seattle and he is in Wyoming. Modern day mail order bride. One hitch, he didn't order her but felt the pull when she arrived at his home. It was fun reading their story. Enjoyed the descriptions of the town, his friends, her brother and his MC, his cabin and their connection. Written by Cindy :)

Lake and her older brother have always been ignored by their parents so when she graduated high school her parents sold their house and started traveling. Lake has been left with her older brother Nico in Seattle where he is part of a MC but she wants her own choices and answers yes to a mail order bride ad in Jasper Ridge, Wyoming. Gannon does not know about the ad but he is happy she answered because she is just what he needed. This is a short steamy book with great characters.

A quick read about Lake who answers an ad to be a mail order bridge and Gannon, her supposed husband. Gannon did not know anything about the ad but it did work out for them both because it was basically love at first sight and even though Gannon is grumpy he was quite smitten with Lake. I loved it so much and found it to be a wonder Christmas romance. Ember Davis is the queen of romance and I have loved all her books and this was no exception.

A quick, sweet romance must read.

This was a quick and sweet romance story. Lake came to meet what she taught was her husband to be when she knocks on Gannon’s door and they both get the surprise they didn’t expect. It was instant and their chemistry heats up when she finds herself stranded and he lets her stay in his cabin. Will this mistake become a HEA for them? One click to find out in this newest release that doesn’t disappoint. I love the likable characters that will have you cheering for their forever during the holiday season.

This was such a sweet novella with a really fun meet cute! Lake shows up at Gannon’s house after needing a chance in her life and answering an ad for a mail order bride. But all of this is news to Gannon when he opens his door to her.

They had an instant connection and I loved how sweet they were with each other. They were open and honest with each other and had some seriously amazing chemistry.

I’m looking forward to Nico’s story!

A really good holiday read! Lake has decided that she needs to leave Seattle and spread her wings. She hasn’t been happy with her life. Lake knows her brother won’t be happy but it’s time for her to spread her wings. She answers an ad for a mail order bride in WY and decides to go for it. When she meets Gannon he has no idea who she is or how an ad appeared. The chemistry between them is sizzling!

This was an amazing story! I absolutely loved it! Lake was tired of her life and her brothers over protectiveness. She loved him but needed a chance. She answered a mail order bride ad and ended up in Jasper Ridge on Gannon’s doorstep. Gannon was not expecting Lake but now he had her he was determined to keep her. Sweet, steamy story with amazing chemistry, a loving, caring hero and a wonderful HEA.
