USA TODAY Bestselling Author Mary E Thompson spent most of her childhood wishing she had a few less curves. She hid in the pages of books because her favorite characters never cared what size her clothes were. Now, neither does Mary, and she writes stories that celebrate women like her. Real women who have curves, chase dreams, and find love, because we should all be happy, no matter our dress size. Mary spends her non-writing time with her husband and two kids, watching too much TV, cheering for her hometown football team (Go Bills!), and hiding chocolate from her family.
I agree with others that have written a review of this book, has secondary characters in the 1st book you get a sneak peak into what seems like a well rounded happily married couple. But that is an illusion plenty times throughout this book I wanted to shake Lizzie am sure the author wanted to strangle her, I was a little miffed that we didn't get more insight with the ML's thoughts and feelings but I guess the real moral of the story is that you take for granted what you have until you lose it. And there is definitely no I in team lol it takes work and dedication, give and take and a lot of compromise to make a healthy marriage!!
I’m giving this book 3 stars because it was entertaining and I wanted to see how it would end.
The reason I wanted to give it one star was because h was a selfish, self centered, spoiled brat who deserved to be alone feeling sorry for herself and the mess she made of her life.
This story surprised me in so many ways. I first read about Aaron and Lizzy in the first book. As an outsider, they seemed like the quintessential happy, loving and devoted couple. But their story isn't such. It looks more like "happy on the outside, miserable on the inside." The relationship and dynamics of any marriage takes work and commitment. For Aaron and Lizzy, they certainly have to "work for it." Lizzy is a SAHM and finds herself unhappy lately. She struggles to figure out the hows, the whys, and the what ifs of her life. She is horrible at communicating her feelings with her husband. I can't tell you how often I screamed in frustration at Lizzy every time she pushed Aaron away. LOL. That's how you know it's a damn good story. You become emotionally involved with the characters. Lizzy and Aaron needed something major to shift to shake things up. The ending didn't feel complete but that's ok. No couple resolves all their issues in one moment. I'm just happy that in the end, they were very open about their feelings and committed to working on their problems together.
