Now that this book has taught me how to grow plants for free and how to properly care for them, there is no need for the annual trip to Hammer Barn to replace the ones we’ve killed - I will save so many dollarydoos! But seriously, I can’t wait to have fun propagating with my kids these school holidays. This book gives super simple to follow instructions on growing indoor plants from seeds, cuttings, and root splitting. Plus all the important details, like soil, pots, light etc, but explained simply and clearly. I also love how it explains how damn magical forest ecosystems are, and how an indoor forest should emulate these systems - it’s like we’re bringing forest magic into our home! The day after I read this book, I was seeing free plants everywhere that I had been walking past blindly for years. I think with the frantic pace of the urban life and it’s constant distractions, plus cost of living, this book is exactly what me and my family needed - we’re so excited to start our indoor forest adventure.
I really enjoyed going through this book and am thinking about buying a print copy for my oldest daughter. There are a lot of great strategies here for stretching your houseplant budget! I would have preferred real photos, as opposed to B&W AI-generated images of plants, but the information in the book is solid enough that I can look past that.
Good, accurate basic info presented in an easy to understand manner. Great for beginners and those who need to refresh their memory on different techniques.
