I can’t even begin to say how good this was! Everything from the plot, characters to the artwork was so on point. Easy 5 stars!!
The story begins with the Winterberry family and the Red Vampire Clan meeting to begin negotiations to discuss a potential peace treaty after decades of conflicts, this meeting quickly goes sideways and both sides point fingers against one another for sabotage. In the midst of this conflict, the family patriarchy goes missing and a young witch accidently turns a vampire into a cat? Yes, a cat!
The plot is not just intriguing; it’s addictive. Every twist and turn had me glued to the pages, and before I knew it, I’d devoured the whole volume. The artwork is just gorgeous, especially the characters' facial expressions, they’re not just expressive but also hilariously on point. Mordecai’s facial expressions were downright epic!🤣
As for the characters, Morgana and Oz absolutely stole my heart. Morgana, a young witch struggling to control her powers, is charmingly relatable, especially as she tries to navigate the fallout of her tiny (but adorable) mistake of turning Oz into a cat. And Oz? Let me just say: book boyfriend material! Initially wary of witches, he starts to bond with Morgana, learning that his preconceived notions about witches might not be true. His growth throughout the story is as heartwarming as his support for Morgana is swoon-worthy.
Also, let’s talk about Oz’s cat form, he’s the cutest thing ever. And did I mention he’s a short king? I JUST LOVE THAT FOR HIM!! The fact that he blushes nonstop around Morgana just makes him even more lovable.
If you’re looking for a fast-paced, magical adventure filled with witches, vampires, and the “he falls first” trope, look no further. Morgana and Oz have all that. I urge you to pick this up!!
One volume wasn’t enough for me, so I immediately pulled out my iPad, opened the Webtoon app, and binged the entire two seasons, only to find out that next season will be the last?! What do you mean it’s ending already? This story is so good that I never want it to end.
Thank you @wattpadbooks and @wbywattpadbooks for gifting me the review copy!
i live for this authors gorgeous art style. it’s so nice being able to read the story in a physical format now. Morgana and Oz are so cute already and i will always gravitate towards vampire vs witch stories. i love how chaotic they both are .. must be protected at all costs !
THIS WAS SO CUTE I WANT BOOK 2 IMMEDIATELY. Thank you to my girl Krysta ꕤ for this amazing rec 😭 dying of cuteness. And Molly the cat was just so happy???? I want 1000 of those cats please and thanks 🥰
Morgana is a kind-hearted, naive witch in her late teens who's struggling to keep her powerful but chaotic magical spells under control.
Oz is the youngest - and angstiest - vampire in her area.
The vampire clan has been feuding with Morgana's family for many generations. We enter the story in the minutes before a reconciliation dinner at the witches' house. Her entire household is in a pre-dinner frenzy, but Morgana is trying to magic her formal dress into something that she actually wants to wear. Naturally, the dress goes up in flames (again).
When the vampires arrive, Morgana is still frantically covering up her mishap in the backyard - right where Oz is standing by as his clan's secret backup. Morgana is the kindest witch in the history of fantasy - so, of course, she doesn't realize what he's doing behind her house. Instead, she wants to be his friend. And he plays along.
Relatable.
But when chaos erupts inside the house, Morgana is startled and blurts out a spell. Suddenly, Oz is gone... and in his place, there is only an angsty, pointy-fanged cat.
It's a slow-burn story of young love and friendship.
It's got kidnappings, family secrets, and lots of humor. The detail, colors, environment, and chemistry between characters are to die for.

Morgana and Oz is coming out in physical form on September 24th. In the meantime, you can find it as a webtoon. Thank you, Miyuli and Webtoon Unscrolled, for this Netgalley ARC.
I LOVED THIS!! the art style is amazing, the plot was really cute all I can say is that I need more!!! I need to find the webtoon and happily binge the series!! will 100% be buying myself a copy once it comes out!!
thank you Netgalley, and the publishers for a copy in exchange for an honest review!
With how much I enjoyed reading this story digitally, I KNEW I had to get it physically, and goodness!
It was just as wonderful and magical as the first time I read it!
I honestly had forgotten how "bad" Morgana was with her magic in the beginning and how chaotic things were for Oz when she turned him into a cat! Morgana has come SO far in the latest chapters on WebToons, that it was a lot of fun coming back to the beginning of her story and seeing how everything starts!
One thing I really appreciated when rereading is seeing how well the story is set up. You have the VERY high tension between the witches and vampires, Morgana's earnestness as a witch to be at peace with the vampires, Oz being a cat (LOL), and this overall unraveling of what seemed like a "perfect little world" that is now showing how unpeaceful things have been.
The art is absolutely delightful!! I loved it so much! Everything is so vibrant!
I would HIGHLY recommend this series to those who like tall girl x short boy, witches and vampires, and Ghibli-like stories! I can't wait for volume two to release!
Also! If you read this digitally and are wondering if this volume has bonus content, IT DOES! Lots of cute art with some I've seen shared by the creator on social media, but also some I've never seen before! I was excited to see that it was even several pages long, including a 4koma comic!
You look at the cover and know you can expect a cute, light and maybe even fluffy romance and that's exactly what you get but it's also a bit silly and an adventure with kidnappings, chaotic spells and family issues. The romance part is more a subliminal slow-burn and even now at the end of season 2 there's no declaration or anything more concrete than slight blushing (it's YA after all). Doesn't matter, I'm nevertheless going to follow it into its last season. Can't get enough of Oz, the short vampire without a clause.
3.5. A Romeo-and-Juliet style romance where the warring families are witches and vampires, plus a healthy dose of Fruits Basket charm. Like a lot of people I had a really intense Webtoon phase a few years ago, so there's something almost nostalgic about this sort of incredibly light, fluffy, silly story. It feels like you've read it before, even though you haven't; the art, characters, and story beats are just exactly what you expect them to be. Adapting webcomics into published graphic novels poses challenges that this story definitely does not overcome - the pacing is strange and drawn out, and the book ends in a place that feels completely arbitrary. But it's exactly what it intends to be: sugary sweet and easily consumable.
Thanks to Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
It's an instant favorite! Thank you, Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group and NetGalley, for allowing me access to this first volume! All opinions are my own, and all my love for this book is true!
I have seen and heard a few great things about Morgana and Oz, so I've been meaning to get to it. Seeing volume one on Netgalley made me request it, and OH, I am thrilled I did because this is now a fast favorite!
I love witches, I love vampires, and I love magic! This graphic novel/Webtoon has it all, and I cannot believe I didn't start it sooner. Right off the bad, we can see there is trouble for Morgana's family; from accusations of dark magic to hits with portraits and badblood with the vampires, and my detective hat was ON thinking about theories! It is also very clear that the vampures have been given a bad wrap, too, and there is a lot of misunderstanding and hurt, and I know there are going to be some amazing stories/backstories to come!
Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review. This series has potential, but I'm sad that I saw all of that potbetial in the last handful of pages. The story starts off in the middle of something and we're not really given background information. While this can be done well, this book sort of muddles through that device making it frustrating at times to read. The lack of explanation for the world or the power systems or really anything for a first book in a series is shocking. The characters are a little archetypal, but not too off putting. The art is gorgeous in still frames, the scenery is often amazing and full of bright and vibrant colour, wonderfully detailed. The main character designs are cute and fun, albeit a little plain compared to the right world the author creates. The panels where there is movement or facial expression aren't as well done and feel really over the top compared to the rest of the book which is incredibly toned down. I'll admit, I wasn't into the plot and was going to give this a worse review until the last like 50 pages. The sudden repercussions from the dinner scene at the beginning were unexpected and added more to the story - gave it some of the ooompf it needed. I'll read the next volume and hope it improves in the areas I feel it's lacking!
I think what pulled me to reading this is how much I love magic and fantasy which you will definitely get a lot of from this graphic novel. It has a cute premise and the main character has a warmth to her. I felt disappointed with the art in certain places, especially because there were some sections that were done so well and other areas that felt lacking. I had also hoped for more complex magic instead of the language used in the graphic novel. It has a cozy fantasy vibe that will definitely intrigue many people. I think ultimately the audience for this is young adult, and it can be a nice introduction to graphic novels.
I have read most of the first "season" of this before on Webtoon so I did already know what was going to happen but I still really enjoyed my time with this. I love the art style and the formatting of the book is much easier for me to read rather than the scroll format but I really hated how dark the watermark was for the arc edition, I could not read some words and it did take away from the art a bit. I just feel like they could've watermarked it in a less invasive way that would still be effective and then the book would've been a complete 5 stars from me. Anyways, I love this story and I love it when there's fighting between supernatural beings in stories but then there's those middle characters that fight against the useless fighting. I love the main characters and Morgana's brother is so adorable, I can't wait to see more of him in the next volume because I will definitely be collecting this physically when I can make some more room for graphic novels. There are quite a few mildly annoying and unlikeable characters which I think really helps balance the loveable idiots that are our main two characters. I am also a sucker for characters that have really strong powers that have to learn to control them but are afraid of hurting those around them and then angsty but soft vampires??? yes please.
Disclaimer: I received an arc copy of this from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Mini Book Review: Thank you so much to Wattpad for the gifted copy of this book!
This book is totally not something I would have picked up on my own. But I am trying to incorporate more graphic novels into my reading. I am thankful that this was gifted to me as I do not think I would have picked this up on my own.
The book read so quickly! I know it shows I took a while to read it due to just making time but I have read this in two chunks between the dates.
This was a really cute book about a witch who does not have the best control of her powers. It has been fun to see how she navigates trying to turn a vampire Oz from a cat back into human form. The family dynamic have also been fun (and is it weird to say how cute the dad is?! He seems so young in the illustrations) and the whole witches vs vampires war played out on page.
If you are interested in dabbling into the graphic novel world but unsure, this would be a great starting point! It is fun, easy, beautiful illustrations and the next volume will be out in March 2025!
Morgana and Oz is simply charming. I had previously read some of the webtoon years ago, so I was delighted to receive an eARC of the graphic novel edition thanks to NetGalley!
Morgana the witch is cute and endearing; she struggles with casting magic properly yet retains a sense of optimism while trying to fix her mistake of turning Oz into a cat. Oz the vampire is mysterious; he seems brooding and quiet, but becomes more impassioned and kind throughout his time with Morgana. The developing relationship between the two is excellent, and I can't help wanting to see more of them together. The illustrations are simple and pleasing, and at times much more detailed in the depictions of plants or spells. Both main characters have great designs - I always love a cute, large witch's hat, and of course I'm always a fan of a white haired anime boy.
My only complaints are minor and come from the transition of webtoon to printed graphic novel. At times the pacing seemed a little off, and I think the book ended on a very abrupt note. Overall though, this was still a great read.
A very cute and fun beginning to what appears to be a Romeo and Juliet style fantasy between a witch and a vampire…well, at least when Oz goes back to looking less like a cat, that is, haha.
The art is very whimsical and fun and I like the idea of these two groups not getting along with some real stakes for Morgana and Oz to overcome in order to regain peace between their peoples, which is kind of a run of the mill plot but it works and more unique elements could crop up from here. Aside from Morgana and Oz the only other character I liked was Mordecai, Morgana’s little brother, as the rest were just there or just plain wacky, haha. I do hope I’m reading these could be hints wrong and the villain doesn’t turn out to be the uncle because that would be totally unoriginal, so hopefully I’m reading into things that aren’t there.
Aside from everything just being okay, the main reason I rated this so low is that I constantly kept getting confused as to the order I should read the panels in which is weird since they’re aren’t many per page, but I kept bungling them up which confused me, plus I had to go back and reread stuff just for things to make sense. I’m sure this is just a me thing but it was still annoying.
A cute read with enough danger, fun MC interactions, and continued questions to keep me interested, plus a potential cute romance on the horizon.
‼️Content‼️
Language: sucks; crap; hell; oh my gosh; damn; damn it
Violence: books are thrown at a cat; rocks are thrown at and hit a girl; a cat is flung into a wood pile; vampires try to attack a girl; injuries and blood (PG)
Sexual: a naked man (nothing’s shown); a woman shows some cleavage
Alcohol/Drugs: vampires are poisoned which is making them go crazy; implied wine being drunk at dinner; a man smokes a pipe
Other: witches; vampires; magic; magical objects/abilities; vampires drink blood; a house is burned; witches are accused of using dark magic; a girl accidentally turns a guy into a cat; a character is kidnapped, tied up, and gagged; vampires are “cursed”
I love this SO MUCH. Quirky, relatable characters, intense stakes, and a sweet slowburn romance. And the way it explores imperfect yet loving family relationships makes my heart ache in all the best ways. 😭💖
Morgana and Oz is a webtoon I had on my list for a while now, and even better I was allowed to read it as an advanced reading copy!
I loved reading this! The art is gorgeous and radiated cosiness and asking me to continue reading. The plot is really cute and gives me Romeo and Juliet vibes. While I am not a big fan of romance novels, I loved this one nevertheless.
100% will continue reading the series, either on webtoon or (not so) patiently waiting for the other volumes.
Thank you Netgalley and publisher for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review
Graphic novels have a hard time impressing me. Since the prime days of early 2000's fandom when manga really started taking off in the states, I have seen a deterioration in quality when it comes to story / character development. This one is different though. I appreciated the story here as well as the portrayal of personalities that seem more human than artificially stereotyped.
I am surprised to say I'm going to continue reading this series. Maybe I share the author's prevalent love of cats? The cat humor alone has won me over. Combine that with witches, vampires and pseudo feudalism-era Japan style clan wars and I'm a happy camper.
This is a good one, I recommend it.
Thank you to Wattpad Webtoon Book Group and to NetGalley for providing this title in exchange for an honest review.
As you generally expect with WEBTOON novels… this story was pretty amazing!
First, the art. The art was absolutely gorgeous. The time and effort that the author took to draw the backgrounds, add details, and especially the facial expressions. The art really demonstrated Morgana’s expressiveness throughout the story and it was really cute. So… suffice to say, the art is 10/10.
Then, you have Morgana and Oz themselves. Morgana is a cute witch who is struggling with her magic. She’s a little naive but she’s the sweetest and really tries to do the right thing. Oz, meanwhile is an angsty vampire who is secretly a cinnamon roll who starts caring about Morgana. The circumstances that they meet under aren’t the most ideal… but they make it work and honestly, you start rooting for Morgana and Oz as they try to figure out what the heck is going on.
Then, the story is also great as well. It starts out a bit slow and there is a lot of worldbuilding, but slowly, clues start being added up and you wonder… is there something bigger going on? The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger but… I thought that the worldbuilding and tension leading up to that point was great. It definitely made me want to keep reading.
I really enjoyed the fantasy aspects in this one. The feuding families & the difference in paranormal creatures gave for lots of mischief & things going awry.
The art work was amazing and I breezed through this one pretty quickly.
You get: • Witches & Vampires • Feuding • Magic Gone Wrong • Coming Of Age • Who Did It? • Family Drama • Missing Person
Ok read till Chapter 69 then realized it's on hiatus. Awesome LOL
I loved him turning into a cat but this story has way too many mysteries I need solved already instead of opening more! And can Morgana just like chill for 5 seconds without running off LOL but I do the same thing honestly so I get it
es ist so süß ich krieg cuteness aggression und es ist so ein schöner artstyle und oz wenn er als katze isst und die hexen outfits ich will auch eine hexe sein oder eine katze AHH und die artworks am ende????
