3.75 or 4 stars Uhg, 4 stars rounded UP (my review talks about volume contents, but not direct big reveals of certain information)
This had a lot going on, but do understand, I was into it.
First of all the black market auction arc officially started. There was first of all, I said this before in previous reviews, but we are getting deeper into it. We are starting to see characters come back and we are starting to see “antagonists” come back. I love the whole vibe and the illustrations of the auction because it has this charismatic, energetic eccentric energy but it’s so dark and cruel and violent.
The way, please let me just say, the way I was reacting to seeing Sho become agitated and desperate trying to save Akira was freaking so good. We’re starting to see dynamics shift and change and seeing Sho who tends to be able to stay “composed” lose his composure. The thing is Amamiya keeps doing shady stuff and he keeps pushing the people under him to doing things that they wouldn’t normally do. He does it with Akira and he does it with Sho, and now he’s doing it to both of them together. I think this revealed a lot more about the feelings that both Sho and Akira think of each other, and I think we are really seeing the depths of them becoming protective over one another. And even though in this volume, we mainly see that through Sho, they honestly mirror each other. And I have a feeling it’s going to cause a problem in the future. I feel like there was a lot of confirmation about their dynamic getting deeper, of course, and Akira wanting Sho to come find him and Sho wanting to find Akira, in the way that just certain panels were done in this volume..ok I see you.
Sho and Amamiya, I really enjoyed seeing the contemplation Sho was having in regards to what Amamiya made him do. You know I love when it starts to crack down. Keep on going because I’m ready for this to become a conflict.
Speaking on the more other characters that got introduced obviously Harold is here and we seen the one-on-one interaction with him and Akira and more things got revealed about the AMO and possibly about Akira… and I like knowing that, but I am thinking about it. I’m thinking….. you know I like think about it. Sometimes theres just casual things that are said in the series that are layered in a lot of violence and I’m just like OK, I see you. I also was feeling empathy for Akira in this volume because he was going through it.
And then the ending left us on a bit of a cliffhanger but things are they’re ramping up for sure.
Overall, like this was a good volume. I was excited about it. This is this is a type of volume that I really enjoy in this series because it starts to get serious and we just see a lot of development happen with characters relationships and connections and it’s such a vibe and this is why I stay and keep reading.
First book of the year!! Of course we got more questions this time too. There are really no questions answered in the books at all. I guess it will all be revealed like the 3rd or 4 the to last book after we have invested way to much time reading to give up on this story.
Sho tan pasional con Akira, de verdad está tan enamorado de él que me tiene loquisima, les adoro tanto. Encima han salido Mei Mei y Yuen!! Y sabemos un poquito mas de Akira🫣 que ganas del siguiente tomo!!
