Avalon Gildy is an average student constantly in the shadows of her overachieving best friend, Bree. However, when Avalon discovers a time machine, she embarks on a journey forward and backwards in time. After meeting her grandmother in the past, Avalon discovers a magic inside of her that she never thought she had. Avalon and her friends must discover their inner strengths to stop an evil witch from destroying the world and fulfill The Original Prophecy.
Fun YA story. Well developed characters and a fast moving plot. Turning Time contained plenty of peril. Themes of friendship and loyalty made Avalon seem very mature for her age. It can’t have been easy to learn about her special powers but she worked hard to discover the best ways to use them. Containing time travel and inventive world building, the end left open the possibility of more adventures for these characters.
Wow! I originally picked this read due solely for the fact that one of my son’s high school classmates spoke about it. The author is his 14 year old daughter. The well thought out character development was so spot on that I was amazed throughout the entire novel. I will be sharing it with my granddaughters when we visit this week. Can not wait to follow this author for many years to come!!!
Fantastic Book! And the author is only 14!!! So impressed! Fun read for those middle school tween ages. Lots of twists and turns and she left it open for future books in a series! The characters are very relatable to the age group. Can't wait to see what she writes next!
