It’s time I return to the living; time for me to look at the bright sun and let it warm my face, and permit myself to be free from the cold burden of grief that’s tarnished my soul.
That’s easier said than done when my heart died with my husband. Our hopes and dreams of a lifelong future with him by my side, fathering my children, and watching them grow into parents of their own have vanished.
I endure, but I’m not truly living… Until my elderly neighbour passes away and his dark-haired, hazel eyed son comes to town bearing burdens of his own.
If you are someone grieving over the loss of a spouse, keep in mind that this book deals with such grief and the difficulties that follow. Also, this book contains sensitive situations such as descriptions of violence, and fully-consensual sexual situations including bondage and kink.
I’m an Amazon international top-selling author of Suspense Erotica. Often, I write contemporary, erotic romance novels containing BDSM content, that revolves around real life human issues we often face on a daily basis. Keeping the characters relatable to my readers helps to bring the stories to life.
My books aren't all about sex because our lives don’t revolve around sex, or at least they shouldn’t. The romance, love and tender moments are what keep us coming back for more.
We all want to be loved, adored and cherished, and BDSM gives us all of that and more. I want to show the pain and pleasure associated with the BDSM lifestyle, but also the unbreakable, loving commitment between the Dom and Sub. The trust built by this lifestyle is undeniable, and this is why I love writing in this sub-genre.
That’s not to say I don’t have a few short stories that aren’t strictly hot and naughty. Sometimes we need a little kick to get the juices flowing, so to speak, and why not quick erotica? They make for great bedtime stories.
Heather has a wonderful life with her husband, Leo. She's loved and fulfilled, and suddenly he's ripped away from her in a terrible accident. She's locked in her grief until a handsome neighbor connects with her. Dane has lost a spouse too, and just recently his father passed. He also feels this immense pull to Heather that he can't ignore. Yet will he be able to help her out from under her blanket of grief to experience love again?
This is a wonderfully emotional romance that gives a second chance at love for two worthy individuals. Heather and Dane have both lost their spouses. Her more recently than him, but grief is something that never fully goes away, and it's portrayed incredibly well in this book. Her fresh grief and his years old. I love how they handle their own grief, one another's, and care for each other with great patience and empathy. Of course, the tension between them is sizzling, and there's several steamy scenes.
Oh my goodness! Have tissues at the ready! An entire box, because this is heart-wrenching! But then, life affirming, thank goodness!
This highly emotional story drew me in. I have not had to face what Heather and Dane have had to, and I'm thankful for that so far in my life. I'm older than Heather and Dane, so don't know how I would cope. One day at a time, one step after the other.
I was happy Dane's dad became a part of Heather's life. But even that was too short.
If we believe that everything happens for a reason, well...
Make sure to read the author's warnings for this story!
With yet another fabulous story, Pebbles Lacasse has insured I will be a fan for life! In the Widowed, her main characters, Heather and Dane, have both suffered the worst of heartbreak. Will they be able to overcome the tragedy they are faced with? Can they get past the obstacles that could keep them in different worlds? Could miscommunication turn them from one another? You must read and find out for yourself! I highly recommend you grab a copy of this page turner. If you're like me, you won't want to put it down!
Overall good read. I am confused by the dream in the beginning because it goes straight into their history. It needs to be a prologue with maybe a a present day and then chapter one how ma t every yesss ago. I read it twice because it wasn’t making sense. Last that the writing is good the story flows. Both main characters find the other attractive but don’t act on it because it would be inappropriate. Terrible things happen and brings them back together. I liked the positivity that yes life after love is possible, that loving again is also possible. I can embrace her guilt and his. And I was rooting for them. There were some rushed segments that was like oh okay we aren’t actually going to wait and processes anything. And there were some super sweet moments that had you swooning.
While not one that truly spoke to me it did get me in the feels a few times and I enjoyed the double sending chance romance and the banter.
There is no denying the emotion that is packed into Heather and Dane's story. It is a very sweet read but it packs a punch with the other emotions as well. It was overall a feel good read that had its swoonworthy moments. Beautiful second chance romance.
Such a wonderful story about living after death of a loved one. There is such sensitivity with all the sadness and love. New beginnings. Excellent story. Really moved me.
