The Dragon King wanted a breeding vessel. So he captured me.
I’ve been an outcast my entire life—bullied, ridiculed, and shunned. Unprotected.
So when the Dragon King comes to claim and impregnate me...I am completely at his mercy.

He’s the last Dragon King and rules his lands with an iron fist.
To preserve his ancient bloodline, he hunts for a human bride.
When his soldiers descend on my village to capture untouched women, I become their prize.

I’m dragged to the king’s castle, where he strips me of my freedom and chains my ankles.
I’m unworthy as his queen. Instead, I’m his prisoner, his pawn, his plaything.
Bathed, bound, and forced into suffocating gowns, I vow to escape him.

But his forced proximity awakens something inside me—a power I never knew I had.
I must play his mind games. I must obey his cruel commands.
I must let him claim me in every possible way.

Will I ever escape the brutal Dragon King?

The Dragon King of Kaldoria is the monster of your nightmares. He gets what he wants, he makes no compromises, and he claims his one true mate without apology. She’s his forever, whether she likes it or not.

This is Book 1 in the Dragons of Kaldoria series. It ends on a cliffhanger.

It was okay. The plot was great and the mystery was there. All the characters are hard headed and can't see past what they want or how to get what they want. The king is a tyrant and his soon to be bride is stubborn to a fault. They each fight one another not getting anywhere. That is pretty much the whole story for me. The author writes about this and that, what the kingdom is like, how the people are, the surroundings and a bunch of other fillers. There isn't much spice at all. And not to mention it leaves you on a cliff hanger. Granted it continues in the other books. But I just can't see myself reading them.

King of Flames and Shadows is book one of the Gods of Kaldoria Series.

This story kept me captivated throughout the whole book. I really wanted to know what was going to happen between Calliope and Arvoren. He was extremely intense and I really wasn't sure what he was going to do with her. She is a very b@d@$$ character. Some would say stubborn, I would say determined. She really fought for what she wanted and didn't cave to others opinions. By the end of the book you are left wanting more. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

The book had a lot of potential, but the illogical events and actions made it not worthy of expectations.
For example, how did the heroine manage to sneak out of her room without being noticed by the guards guarding the door all the time? Her room burned down. How? Whom? How was the fire extinguished when the hero did not give orders to act?
The heroine suffered a bleeding wound, but she made love with the hero without mentioning the bleeding injury or even pain and treatment. Did she recover suddenly?
Such illogical events made me quickly lose interest.

There is a lot of political unrest mentioned in this book which at some point felt as too much. The main character who is the dragon king is always in a bad mood and is rude to pretty much every one. Being rude and brooding seems synonymous with masculinity in this book. The heroine is pretty much captured against her will but there is no concrete plan or effort on her part to escape her situation. She is someone who is waiting for others to rescue her which is a bummer.

A really good spicy dragon novel. It's got all the typical dragon mate elements along with political upheaval. Calliope is such a strong, fierce, level headed, determined woman who is so much more powerful than she realizes. She refuses to bow down to him or give in to his commands. And to his credit he never forces himself on her. Sure he tries to boss her around and keeps her in chains but she's too strong to buckle. If you're a fan of dragon mate books then you'll love this one!
