Poems From My Heart and Soul Before I Left the Planet is a posthumous collection of poems written by Prince William Gaston Livingston-White (also known as "Prince Willie Willie"). Its creation has been a long, arduous process due to remembrances of the joy he brought into my life, and the pain I feel due to his departing this planet all to soon! William struggled with his identity but had a heart as big as the sky. He embraced all humanity and abhorred suffering and injustice. He had friends worldwide from his extensive travels at an early age and embraced diversity and the LGBTQ+ community. He shined his light in the darkness by encouraging the soul and spirit of all those around him. With the publication of this book, William's creativity and light become available forever to the universe. As an extrovert, I feel that it would please him greatly to have his work in public view—sharing his insights and vulnerabilities—hoping that there is something to be gathered from and learned from his joy and pain.
A portion of the proceeds from this publication will be donated to causes that support affordable housing for the homeless, food for hungry children and young adults' physical and mental health. These were causes for which William felt deeply. As he once said, "No child should ever go to bed hungry; they didn't ask to be here!"
William departed this life near midnight on December 29, 2015. at the age of 22 ...Father Paul, who had also given the final prayer and benediction for William's father (Dr. William Tyrone White) approximately 20 years earlier, mused that William would be joyful "... joining his father in a heavenly dance ..."
I hope you will find the essence of William in the poems he left behind...I believe this is one way he had hoped to carry on, offer encouragement, and make new friends after his departure.
