With just days until Christmas, Sleigh twins, Kayauna and Kasha, are dealt a devastating blow. Instead of spending their mother's birthday honoring her memory, they're levied a demand from their overbearing grandfather, which sends the two down a path, neither expected.
Kayauna is in her final year of graduate school and not sure where her path is headed. Still grappling with the loss of her parents, she's just going through life, stuck with feelings only she hears in the chaos of her mind.
Kasha is the opposite. Her parent's deaths have left her with nothing but anger. Everyone is liable to feel her wrath. Anger has consumed her to the point that she doesn't even recognize emotions opposite of that.
Quilo Bell and Saar Savage have been friends since high school. When it comes to the Sleigh sisters, Quilo and Saar have always had a way of taming the storms that brew inside the sisters.
This holiday season, fate brings the four together.
Forced to take drastic measures to save their mother's masters, the sisters forge a pact to ditch the holidays. Kayauna is focused and calculating. Meanwhile, Kasha just wants to "do her" for a change.
Quilo has his crush in the palm of his hand. On the contrary, Saar needs a lasso for the woman who's held his heart since high school.
In other words, this Christmas is about to be chaotic with a little crashing out! However, love has a way of doing things that can't be explained.
Double the pleasure and Double the fun…. It was most definitely Double the Love as we were introduced to identical twins Kayauna and Kasha. These two are one and the same and we got to witness them being loved on by two alpha men in this holiday story! After the loss of their parents both sisters are dealing with loss and grief in very different ways. Football QB Quilo and Rap superstar Saar are up for the challenge when it comes to giving these two sisters the love and peace that have been missing in their lives.
This was a cute swoon worthy story that left me with all the feels! These twins met their match and I loved the connection that both sisters had with their men. The family in this book was trash per usual and Shyne deserved to have her throat slit but I guess we can’t have all of our wishes come true for Christmas 😒.
There were a few minor things that could have been improved upon but overall this was a really good read!
We see the love lives of two twins from a variety of perspectives. We observe the distinct ways in which Kayauna and Kasha deal with their loss. When Quilo and Saar enter the picture and fight for the sisters' affection in spite of their resistance, we receive twice as much love.
The family was shit and the situation surrounding that was a bit weird but I enjoyed this story.
This was cute, despite the ending being a little all over the place. 3.5 stars
We get to experience a second chance love story x 2. Quilo and Keyauna were too sweet. She was the one that got away from him after High School. Keyauna's primary medium of communication was sign language and I swooned when he ran into her over a decade later and signed to her. I was sold on their love from then on. Saar and Kasha, these two were a little fiery but I loved that Saar urged her to calm down. He was her safe space, where she could shed the walls that she hid behind and it was so sweet.
Even though their love stories were quick, I was still able to feel the love between them. There was growth between all the characters and I loved the sweet updates in their new families.
The ending of the book covered a lot. It felt rushed and the extra scene with Brit felt misplaced, but I understood her trying to close the loop it just wasn't well executed. Overall, I enjoyed the story.
This was a multi-POV I could totally get behind! It almost felt like reading two separate books, but it worked really well.
Basically, M. Monique dedicated one half of the book to one sister’s story and the other half to the other sister. I *do* wish we got a little more about the parents’ backstory and the issues between the elders, but honestly, it didn’t take much away from the story. Kay and Quilo were *so* cute, and Quilo wasn’t playing about her AT ALL. I really loved being able to focus on one couple at a time without any interruptions. It did throw me off that we started with this couple instead of Kash because we did meet her first.
Kash and Saar? Whew, they were a little wild, but I loved how they matched each other’s energy. Saar wasn’t playing about Kash either, and it was refreshing to see that he wasn’t trying to stifle her or change her personality too much. The Christmas aspect of the story, though? Yeah, that felt like a super distant background character, but the rest of the plot was strong enough for me to overlook it.
Now, I’m *high-key* interested in Adri and Coco’s story, and I really hope we get that in 2025! Not gonna lie, I’m probably biased because I usually enjoy M. Monique’s books and her storytelling style. That said, I do wish there was more depth when it came to the Mom and Aunt Shyne drama. Like, yeah, Shyne was a hater and jealous, but I needed more layers—give me some *intensity*! I also wasn’t a fan of the granny, BUT (and it’s a big “but”) I kind of understood the dynamic. She’s an elder, and the standards for relationships, especially with prominent men, were definitely different back then. Still, the fact that she went back to her ex-husband? A little crazy to me. BUT AGAIN, she’s a housewife and a pastor’s wife/mayor’s wife, so I can’t say I expected much backbone there. Sorry!
Overall, though, this was a fun read, and I enjoyed it!
Kayauna and Kasha are twin sisters who are dealing with the grief of losing their mother in two totally different ways. While Kasha is angry and lashes out at anything and everything, Kayauna has been mute since losing her mom. After Kasha's latest blowup makes the media rounds, their overbearing grandfather gives them an ultimatum: either get married and settle down or lose the rights to their mother's masters. The twins vow to never let that happen and set out to find husbands, but two very imposing blasts from their past make an appearance and let it be known if marriage is to take place, there won't be another men for the job.
I loved both Saar and Quilo. They came in and definitely settled the twins, and while I loved both couples, it was something about Quilo and Keyauna that just tugged at my heart more. The way he learned to communicate with her before he even got her so that when his time came, he was ready was everything! Every time he signed to her, I swooned; it was the sweetest thing. I loved the way M. Monique incorporated that into the storyline.
I really enjoyed this story, but I felt it could have benefited from being a full-length novel. Often when reading this I felt like I was missing information or perhaps there was a book before that I hadn't read. I think we needed the background information on the mom and her story. Also, I think that in terms of romance, greater insight into their high school days with Saar and Quilo would have helped with the development of the couples because I couldn't figure out why the girls were so opposed to exploring a relationship with them outside of their grandparents disapproval. Overall, this was a very sweet story, and I can't wait to read the other Bell books that are coming.
Loved reading. Multi pov between twin sisters and male bestfriends. Kayauna is mute and Quilo plays football, so he signs sweet nothings to her every time he scores a touchdown. Swoon. Kasha is the krash out but Saar matches all the energy. They’re perfect together. Both women are loved out loud and properly. Intentional love all up and through this book. There’s still enough drama to keep you invested.
Do anyone know if Coco and Adir have a separate story?
I liked the romance aspect of the book between Saar and Kasha and Quilo and Kayauna and the fact that the men were like brothers and the girls were sisters was a nice touch as well. I also thought it was sweet the way Quilo took the time to learn sign language even before he got together with Kayauna so that he could communicate with her better as that was her dominant language.
However, I felt like at times it was a little disjointed with the flashbacks and the chapters jumping back and forth with each couple. Also, when we found out what finally happened to the parents I was hoping for a little more detail. Overall I liked the book but I felt if more details were included about certain things and if there was a better flow I would have enjoyed it better.
This was really good love story for both FMC’s. M.Monique knows how to write a FMC that can throw hands 🤣🤣🤣 Both Quill and Saar were strong MMC’s that really showed up for their women . The spice was superb as usual.
I liked that this book happened in the winter but the Holidays weren’t the center of the story. I thought it was a good book but didn’t really hold my attention. The book was almost split into two and I didn’t like that. And then the random days throughout the chapter was weird to me. I also don’t understand how Adir is Quilo’s dad but he’s also married to his sister Coco. The author speaks a lot about Coco and Adir but it doesn’t seem like their story is out yet. Never addressed why Quilo had security before his football stardom.
Double the Love throws readers into a whirlwind of emotions, familial complexities, and unanticipated romance. M. Monique crafts an engaging narrative that follows Kayauna and Kasha Sleigh as they navigate a pivotal moment in their lives. With the weight of their parents' tragic deaths still looming, the sisters are confronted with a demand from their controlling grandfather that alters their holiday plans and tests their bond. The contrast between the sisters is striking and deeply human. Kayauna, measured and introspective, is fighting to find purpose amidst the chaos of her mind. Her vulnerability is palpable, making her journey relatable and touching. Kasha, on the other hand, is fiery and unfiltered, allowing her anger to dictate her interactions and decisions. Her emotional volatility adds an intriguing layer to the story, as we see how grief manifests differently in each of them. Enter Quilo Bell and Saar Savage—two men who have been constants in the Sleigh sisters' lives. Quilo’s unshakable devotion to Kayauna and Saar’s determination to win Kasha’s guarded heart bring an element of warmth and tension to the story. Their dynamic with the sisters balances the heaviness of the narrative with lighthearted, romantic moments that feel both natural and earned. The real charm of Double the Love lies in the sisterhood between Kayauna and Kasha. Their unwavering loyalty to one another, even in the face of personal struggles, is the heart of the book. It’s refreshing to see a story where the sibling bond takes center stage, showing that love comes in many forms—romantic, familial, and self-love. M. Monique’s writing shines through her vivid descriptions and fluid storytelling. The multiple points of view give the narrative depth, allowing us to see the complexities of each character from their own perspectives. It added an edge to the story, making the emotional stakes feel even more personal. The supporting characters, Brit and Coco, were delightful additions to the story. Brit brought a spark of humor and wit, while Coco, as Kasha’s brother, added warmth and grounding. Their presence enriched the story, making it feel like a true ensemble cast. Double the Love is a beautiful exploration of love, loss, and healing wrapped in the festive chaos of Christmas. It’s a story about facing your fears, leaning on those you love, and finding light in the darkest of times. If you’re looking for a heartfelt, gripping holiday read, this book is an excellent choice.
As always, M. Monique does not miss. I loved all 4 main characters. The way Quilo and Saar were so in love with their women was amazing. Kasha and Kayauna dealt with a terrible loss, and years later, they were thrown a curveball due to hate and envy from their aunt. Imagine being forced to marry just to retain the rights to their mother's music because your aunt is a hating heffa. This led to these two reuniting with the men they have been in love with since high school. Keyauna went to her love Quilo with little to no fight, but that dang Kasha fought tooth and nail at first to avoid Saar. I loved watching both sisters get the kind of love they deserved. The plot twists with their aunt, now I didn't see that coming at all. Read this beautiful love story of two couples learning and loving each other properly. You will not be disappointed.
I loved this story! 💔for what happened to Starr and Mav Ugh Shyne and them Grandparents pissed me off 😡🤬 I need more consequences for their actions.
Kayauna’s and Kasha are twins dealing with the trauma of their parent’s deaths and it has silenced Kayauna and angered Kasha. Kayauna prefers to communicate through ASL and Kasha crashes out any times someone pisses her off. I mean everyone catching hands.
Quilo and Saar are best friends in love with the Sleigh twins for over 10 years and they are not about to miss their chance at love.
Quilo Quilo Quilo 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 this man learned sign language for when he came for Kayauna. That man that man!
Saar had that energy that Kasha needed,he was the calm to her storm!
This book was just too sweet! I loved every single character (except the Sleighs). I will say that as much as I loved Saar, Quillo & the Twins, I am just as intrigued by Adir and the sister.
Why is Adir's last name Bell? What is the story there? Is there a book coming, or do they already have one?
Another question is... when exactly did Quilo learn sign language because it mentioned Celestine taught him how and that Kayauna was shocked that he knew but in the restaurant running into each other for the 1st time, she was reminded of how sweet it was that he signed to her in high school.
I also wish that it would have said, "she signed" instead of, "she said" that confused me.
Overall, the book was great & could have read more about them!
Having to be so hard all the time to living the most softest of soft life is really my favorite kind of read. They really were able to shed so many layers with their men because they made them feel safe. Having a man who just handles it all without asking >>>>> top tier. Quillo & Saar really said they were NOT coming up off the twins ….AND DIDNT 😌. They were twins fighting the same battle while coping with it definitely. I enjoyed reading about them together and separately. The twins family ain’t ish and I’m glad some type of justice was served. They both got all the love they deserved and I love that for them.
Multi- POV read & easy to follow. Kasha & Kayauna are simply trying to navigate life while still grieving the loss of their parents. Kasha & Saar, and Kayauna & Quilo were deff matched well together. Time meant nothing once they crossed paths again. 10 years since HS and the feelings then, are still prevalent now. This read reflected growth and also acceptance of things as-is and not what we hope them to be. The men stood ten toes down about their women, true protectors of them! The Sleigh family- what a waste of space…the audacity!! *Baby, listen. Sometimes it’s totally okay to deal with family members from a distance… it is TOTALLY okay!*
This was really a good Christmas love story that I enjoyed reading. I absolutely loved the sisterly bond that Kasha and Kayauna had because it didn’t exist with Starr and Shyne. Shyne was really a despicable, miserable person to do what she did and still not get the spotlight that she desperately wanted. I loved the love Quilo had for Kayauna and Saar had for Kasha that overflowed in abundance to help heal them through their trauma and grief. Baby, they say it be the quiet ones and Kayauna proved that not once but twice with a busting lips and a gun🤣🤣 I can’t wait to read the back stories especially CoCo and Adir’s and why the Bell name ring bells.
I think this book should have been a full length. While I enjoyed the story I read, it felt like something was missing. This was second chance squared but even that aspect felt a little lacking, I think I needed to see more of them in high school to really drive home that these were 4 people coming together again. I did enjoy the twins relationship and the way they seemed to just fit with Quilo and Saar. Hate that there wasn’t anybody going to jail at the end of the book, but maybe we’re getting more from that. This is NOT a holly jolly kind of read, Christmas is present though. Again, overall I enjoyed it, I just needed more.
This may be my favorite M. Monique book 🫢🤫🫣 The way these men loved on their women. The way the protected them from everyone who meant them harm. The way they allowed them to grieve in their own way while also supporting them & letting them know that they’re there for them always & forever 🥹🥹🥹 I do love how I went through all the feels throughout the book & the emotional stuff was spread out evenly. The book wasn’t just heavy & emotional in a sad way. I definitely cackled (especially at Saar & Kasha) & I definitely swooned.
Double the trouble, double the love, double the fun!
This was a very entertaining read. I love the multiple POV, you get all point of view from all the main characters. I love that part. Now let me just say I couldn’t pronounce the name of one of the twins.
I enjoyed the way these men showed up for the twins. They didn’t play about Kasha & Kayauna at all! It was love out loud vibes! The spice was good but honeyyyy the drama was even better.
Side note, I love the ASL. I really respect how the author included that in this book.
Ok so left me just say that I definitely enjoy this authors work and there has been a time where I took a break because some other titles left me feeling like WTF. BUTTTTT DOUBLE THE LOVE DID IT FOR ME. Kasha and Kayauna got everything they deserved and I hope to see more of them intertwined in other works. And to have two men like Quilo & Saar to step behind you and dare a mofo to play with you is top tier. I’m waiting for my Saar baby! Even set during the holidays you can read this anytime so try it out!!!!
Overall this was a good book! I liked that she incorporated the ASL into the book. Anytime Kayana was speaking we knew she was signing! The fact that Quilo learned it before they even got together! Yesss that’s the type of energy we need! Even with Saar and Kasha, the love story was just as good! I knew she mentioned that we would get to see more about the Bell family and I cannot wait! Overall this was a good read!
I just loved that Kasha and Khaotic found such loving relationships with the guys. The fact that Quilo learned to use sign language and hired an interpreter for Kay was everything and show how he loved her. Saar provided Kash with the peace she needed to allow down and stop fighfing. The aunt and grandDad were 🗑 and got what they deserved. Great holiday read👏👏👏😍🙌🙌⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Kayauna and Kasha were twin sisters who loved each other and had each others back through thick and thin. The both experienced a tragedy that affected them in different ways. They were determined to only depend on themselves. Fate has a way of changing things! Childhood crushes on Quilo and Saar from high school, resurface years later! A great holiday love story!
Kasha and Kayauna are twins, both struggling with the loss of their parents at a young age. Being raised by their controlling grandparents only added to their trauma. Given the ultimatum to marry or lose rights to their starlight mother’s music rights, fate brings the return of their childhood loves to answer the call of “husband”.
The drama in this book was MESSY! I gobbled this book up. MM you know you can weave a tale girl. 😏
Uhem… I would like to thank M Monique for graciously sharing this family! As always there is a great story to share full of love, loyalty, loss and laughter. I loved seeing both men grow up and pursue their dreams and love. Kasha was wild!!! I loved her though. Kayoz was like a quiet storm. Quilo and Saar took care of them so well! Makes me wonder how the other guys are doing.
This is one of my favorite authors and again she didn’t disappoint. The book was beautifully written. Twin sisters are forced to get married, but they end up marrying their childhood crushes. The reason they had to get married and the family drama that unfolded was crazy, but with the right person by your side love conquers all
Double the Love is an unexpected surprise. This story captivates you from the first page, and keeps you in a chokehold until “The End”. Under the backdrop of the holiday season, M. Monique provides the reader lessons on love, joy, peace, healing, and forgiveness. Let me say, we all need a Quilo and Saar!!
