Symona and Jaq agree that falling in love is inconvenient, but love is always worth it, or will Symona’s naivety ruin it all?
Inconvenient Love" by Aubree Pynn takes readers on an emotional rollercoaster, exploring the complexities of romance amidst a backdrop of familial loyalty and personal growth. Symona LeFleur, raised under the protective wing of her father, the Don, ventures into the world with rose-tinted glasses and an unwavering desire for familial unity. However, her journey takes an unexpected turn when she finds herself irresistibly drawn to Jaq Mikells. Jaq, determined to leave his past behind and carve out a new path, finds himself entangled in Symona's world. As her designated protector, Jaq grapples with his growing affection for her, knowing that love can be both a source of strength and vulnerability. Despite their mutual agreement that love is inconvenient, their hearts refuse to heed logic, leading them down a path fraught with challenges and uncertainties. The death of Don LeFleur adds another layer of complexity to the narrative, serving as a catalyst for both personal and interpersonal growth among the characters. Symona's naivety is put to the test as she navigates the aftermath of her father's passing, grappling with newfound responsibilities and the harsh realities of the world beyond her sheltered upbringing. Pynn masterfully weaves together themes of love, loyalty, and self-discovery, creating a narrative that is as heartwarming as it is poignant. The character cameos of Cree, Riana, and Judah add depth to the story, offering glimpses into interconnected lives and the ripple effects of past decisions. Judah and his wife's nomadic existence, haunted by the specter of their past, serves as a poignant reminder of the consequences of choices made in the name of survival. Overall, "Inconvenient Love" is a captivating tale that resonates long after the final page. Pynn's adept storytelling and rich character development make this a must-read for fans of contemporary romance with a touch of suspense and intrigue.
This book kept me intrigued from beginning to end. I think Jaq and Symona are my favorite couple of this series. They both knew they wanted each other but Jaq said they weren’t ready but fate said they were going to get ready while being together. Their connection and chemistry was on point and their pranks on each kept me laughing. Once they got together, their love was reciprocal and balanced. They lifted each other up when necessary and loved each other unconditionally.
I loved Jaq’s protection of Symona and that he didn’t try to coddle her like everyone else. He kept it real with her and told her the things she needed to hear in a way she needed to hear it. I completely understood why her family wanted to keep Symona as the innocent one but they left her exposed and unprotected by not keeping it real with her until ish started hitting the fan. Some of the stuff that happened probably could have been avoided had her family not coddled and sheltered her. Symona truly walked around with rose colored glasses and a skewed perception of the real world. I think they could have told her what was going on and still kept her away from that life but she would have the knowledge and wouldn’t have befriended a snake like Esteban. Esteban’s fate was sealed from book 1 of this series but it was hard to see him keep being able to wreak so much havoc before his final downfall.
This series brought out some familiar faces from previous AP works like Cree Alexander, Nyne, Judah and the women from Gannon Hills. I think some things were tied together with some of those books that had questions that were left unanswered. I look forward to seeing what will come next from this author.
THE WAY that Jaq cemented himself as a series favorite character has me sitting here smiling so big! In book one be made me dislike him as much as I disliked Tariq the last 2 seasons of power. But book 3 showed so much growth and maturity, so much love, so much kindness, so much power and protection. He loved Symona and it was beautiful to witness the man he became for her and because of her. She was very green, almost to her detriment. But her heart was pure and her intentions were good. Don's final act was surprising and sad, but Syrenna stepping into the shoes that were made for her was exactly why he did what he did. She was indeed the Olivia Pope of the family. This book tied up all loose ends, and karma finally found Esteban. It also filled in most of the blanks about all the other flunkies, except what happened to Drako. Overall though, this book was my favorite in the series and had just enough of everything to keep me fully engaged and feel all the feels. The epilouge found everyone in a better place with many new beginnings on the horizon and I really love that.
symona was so green, naive, delusional and hardheaded. everyone told her that they didn’t trust estaban and he’s a snake and she shouldn’t trust him either but her dumbass decided to trust him and sign her name on documents for him. symona just wanted to make her dad and sisters proud while also helping jaq step into his purpose. jaq had the best character development and it was so good to see him become a better man, finish school to be an architect. just like his brothers he was a true protector and provider anticipating symona needs before she even knew them. once jaq got on track he had good instincts as well. don dying made me so sad because it should’ve just been estaban but like angelic said “don said the only way he’d want to go is protecting his children” and estaban may have been his child but he didn’t deserve the grace don kept extending to him. seeing syrenna step into her role as the new head was so empowering but wish it was under better circumstances but she was born to be the new don.
OMGGGGG!!!…Why you do us like that!!!…Not the Don!!!…Angelic needed her partner to see their grandbabies!!!… Jaq and Symona stressed each other out, but it tickled me for them to irritate each other!!!… I knew Syrenna was going to be the one to take Esteban selfish last breath!!!…He was moving recklessly, not knowing his sister and her husband, along with their father was stepping way ahead of him!!!… Cree is back on the scene and the fact that Naji is standing in the front with his wife moving smoothly next to him to wreak havoc!!!…I love it!!!… The snakes were slivering everywhere and acting like they were working with each other!!!…
Symona and Jaq what can I say? This book definitely took me through emotions because Symona pleaseeeee take the blinders off! Jaq is my favorite brother, knowing what he wants and what he has to do in order to have it. Esteban was still a roach.
Aubree wrapped this series up phenomenally with a twist. Of course without it, the next steps probably wouldn’t take place. I look at it as a canon event.
Jaq and Symona’s story really brought all the drama in the previous two books to an explosive head!! In between the brewing war the love story between Jaq and Symona!! Aubree always manages to mix romance and steamy attraction in such a glorious way.
This was such a great series to read, I really enjoyed seeing the characters grow and see the plot unfold from some of the other series! This one had me laughing and crying. I Definitely recommend this series!
