So I read the first book? And when the author said she's was writing a longer book with these charas I was happy and excited, and it was something!!

I feel this story was way more fleshed out way more drama and heartache for Layne. The author put her through the ringer. Because all I wanted to do was hold her. We knew bad things happened to her when she was a child, and this one, it felt like it was more backstory. Plus, Wes and how he was shown stalking his girl and after. Every girly needs a Wes. He was obessed since day one and was always there for Layne when she went deep inside her mind. He was there to help her heal her. He was perfect.

This couple had a lot tossed at them, and it was heartbreaking. Would I want more of them? Honestly, no. I think they deserve to stay in a hea and not deal with more drama. Please let them just stay in a happy bubble.

Spice was spicy like the og one. This one gave even more ;)

Angst, no ow/om drama (unless you count the rapist),no cheating, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal no manwhore

Wes Cameron Larimore…need I really say more? Do you need another reason to read this book? Wes is the reason we read romance books. I would just like to thank Izzy for actually writing about how much Layne loved hearing the sounds that Wes made, male moans and whimpers are not talked about enough…especially the fact that women love it! I love that we get her perspective and that we actually get to hear her hype him up and talk about how hot he is. I loved Layne, and I do not often like FMC characters. Layne has a truly heartbreaking story and our FMC is a fighter and survivor, but she is also very kind, understanding, strong, and a bit bratty. Wes is the protector and possessive MMC that you cannot help but fall for. He treats Layne with such reverence, respect and kindness and he is intentional. He is also a Tolkien fan…swoon. Atlas was an amazing friend and I loved him. Wes’s parents are a dream. Wes and the way he is so attuned to Layne is beautiful. Stories about being loved even in your darkness are just extra special. I would have liked to have seen more of how the trauma Wes went through impacted him, cause I know it had to be traumatizing. This story is dark and does have some really heartbreaking and hard to read parts, but I loved every page. I have nothing bad to say about this book. I loved it so very much and cannot wait to own a physical copy. It might be one I read more than once. I secretly hope we get a book for Gavin. 😉

This book... THIS BOOK 💚💚 thank you so much Izzy for giving me the chance to arc read this !!

I honestly don't even know where to begin ! please check your trigger warnings before reading! This is a dark contemporary romance, stalker, masked OTT possessive mmc, innocent virgin fmc, serial killer couple, degradation/praise, instant attraction, and filthy 🥰

I loved everything about this book! Wes and Layne have such a special place in my heart. I loved all the characters, like atlas! LOL he is just so hilarious a perfectly written. I was hooked from the very beginning ! Even reading "haunting me" I just knew Wes and Layne deserved a longer book and here we are ahhh !!

Layne is truly amazing. Her growth from the very beginning to how she became such a baddie throughout is something that i absolutely love to see in an FMC! I connected with her on such a deep level. I felt her pain and I completely understood her 🖤 i just want to hug and cry with her.

Wes … THIS MASKED MAN MAKES ME FERAL !! His little side job as a district attorney investigator and then the most perfect stalker, vigilante who erases the city of scums 😩 like now can you not love this man. His character was written so perfectly! The instant attraction when he first met Layne had me EATING this book up! Him and his filthy mouth will always be my favorite. He's such a thoughtful and caring stalker LOL 😋 chef’s kiss 💋

Are you a sad girlie that just wants a man to be crazy obsessed with you? Would a good guy that pays close attention to detail, rails you regularly and kills for you help heal you? Well this is the book for you! Layne suffers from depression stemming from trauma and Wes loves her with a ferocity that is unmatched. Do check TWs. There’s some heavy topics in this book but the hard earned HEA was worth it for me. Low key wish Wes was real because I fell in love.
I was given a free copy and I am leaving a review voluntarily.

Stalker Romance...but make it beautiful.

Wes is obsessed with Layne in ways I couldn't even imagine. Red flag yes... but I loved every second of it. Layne has lived many lives at her young age, and not lives anyone should have to live. The extreme pain and trauma she lives with daily and how she copes with it was absolutley heart breaking.

Wes sees Layne and declares that she is his, but she doesn't even know it yet. He spends months watching her, silently protecting her and falling in love with her. When they finally meet it is nothing like either of them have experienced. The love is is instant, he pulls Layne out of her shell and makes her want to live. He will not live with out her, if she dies, he dies too.
Tradegy struck them... not once but twice and I felt my heart drop into my stomach both times.

Izzy wrote these events and the process of moving through them so elegantly. She didn't rush past it she put the characters right into and guided them through the healing. The events that transpired are real things people deal with on a daily basis, they were hard to read but made the characters even more relatable. The ending was beautiful and it was worth all the ups and downs through their story. On top of it all the spice was 1000/10. If I could cut a man out of a book Wes Larimore would be it.

I can’t stress enough PLEASE CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS!! I did not want this book to end Wes and Layne were everything 🥹🥹
Their love story may not have started off like most, but man was it the most beautiful!
Wes, you may have become my favorite stalker so far!

This story was heartbreaking, but yet by the end you are put back together piece by piece.

Sweet Layne, You were dealt a terrible hand, but once meeting Wes, he was what you needed. With her past trauma she deals with mental health issues, and Izzy did such a beautiful job with writing the realistic side of it.

Now Wes, my favorite!!
Serial unaliver, stalker, and best man for Layne, we love a touch her and die kinda guy! The love he has for Layne is out of this world!! This book was a 5 star read for me hands down, and the spice easily 10/5!!! One of the best books I’ve read this year!!

This book had me in the emotional cry fest Layne I connected with her on so many levels , her parents truly disgusting and evil Wes I love him so much everything about him is perfect he not scared of her pain, her trauma or what most people see as damaged he loves her darkness and the light in her. Atlas is the best friend you can have.

My favorite quote is : “Fuck me, Wes. Show me how thankful you are that I am alive. Don’t hold back, I want you. Raw, primal, fucking feral.”

Did I go into this thinking it’d be your typical st@lker romance? Sure did.
Was it? Absolutely not.

Layne has been through a lot in her short life. From a traumatic and terrible childhood to struggling to find her place in adulthood. She numbs her feelings with alcohol and is basically just existing- not really living. Wes works for law enforcement and does vigilante work on the “side” 😜 After losing his sister he vowed to make sure other predators were dealt with in the one way he knows how- extermination. Once he sees Layne his obsession takes the forefront of his mind. Knowing he’ll have to convince her to be his becomes his new game.

While Layne knows she’s being watched she is wayyyyyy more chill about it than I would ever be. Once Layne and Wes come face to face they both realize that maybe there is more to this than they ever could have thought. Was this a little insta love? Sure. But honestly I wasn’t mad at it. He definitely fell first but she fell right along with him. The love Layne and Wes share is unique and unconditional. Truly some of the most poetic things come out of this morally gray man’s mouth.

Thinking this is just a st@lker romance, once they book progressed I was a little confused on where the journey was going to take us. This was smut heavy- and it was some good spice. I don’t mind when the spice outweighs the plot personally but the plot didn’t really give me guidance on how these two would end up. Where we did end up I never would have predicted in a million years. While the first 1/3 - 1/2 was a true st@lker/ dark romance the last half was more of a contemporary mental health rep romance with dark themes.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

All I have to say is 🚨CHECK YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS🚨
I am not a triggered person- this book did not trigger me. But I can see how someone would be verily easily triggered by a lot of this subject matter- and it had nothing to do with the dark romance/ st@lker aspect of the story.

I really enjoyed this book! The plot was mostly the daily life of Wes and Layne’s relationship, with a sprinkling of Wes’s day job and “hobby”. I really liked the mental health aspect and how relatable they were. Layne deserved all the happiness after enduring her childhood and I loved reading about the found family she was able to find as an adult. Wes was everything you would want out of a dark romance, stalker boyfriend. I loved his relationship with his family and how accepting and encouraging they were of his “hobby”.

Definitely a story about past trauma and the emotional turmoil that stems from it. You want to feel relationship complexities ..this is the book for you. You want to experience falling in love… this is for you You want to have your heart ripped.. laugh at funny small talk ..flinch over some well deserved torture… THIS IS A BOOK FOR YOU

Both Layne and Wes were battling personal demons and found peace within each other’s toxic connection. BUT I suggest you have a cold towel handy cause it gets steamy in the sheets with these two.

I spoke to the author and shared how she vividly captured true profound love through Wes and it had to be from personal experience because of how raw it was. Truly beautiful..you have to read this

The story has themes of love, hate, and murderous redemption.

Highly recommended

First, this book did NOT deserve to be placed on hold! Wes and Layne are characters that I absolutely fell in love with and I failed reading them!
Second, get some tissues and check those TWs. Izzy’s writing is not for the weak and she knows how to rip you apart and put you back together.
Third, I loved this book! This relationship is not a slow burn, we get right to the point and oh.my.lawd. Besides the amazing sex scenes 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I have to say my favorite part was watching Layne grow as a person. She was dealt with a shitty hand but she finally had a reason to fight. Wes, that man of a man! Just a package deal….that’s all I can say! I love that we got to see more of Atlas in this full story, he is such a character and Izzy??? Are we getting more of Gavin because I need to know more about this man!

I got an arc, but my rating/review are my own!

I did wish I liked this book but it didn't happen😭😭😭

I think we got so much, but so little!! We got so much stuff going on that it seems that the author did dump all this stuff and then writted the story around it.
And the insta love? Or the way she simply accept the first time they meet? She didn't even knew she had a stalker until that day and... everything was so much rushed :(

HEA

Well, well, well, the relationship moved really fast, but it was still a good story. Wes is completely obsessed with Layne-he falls for her the moment he lays eyes on her at the club. He stalks her for three months without her knowing, and the day he finally decides to approach her, they end up having sex (which happens around 20% into the book). The next day, he asks her to marry him, which felt really rushed.

We see Layne struggle with being overwhelmed by negative thoughts-she's an overthinker who often spaces out. Wes tries to help her through it. As a married couple, we follow their journey as they try to conceive for months, and when she finally gets pregnant, she miscarries two months into the pregnancy. After this, Layne is hit hard by depression and even attempts suicide by jumping into the water, but Wes arrives just in time to save her. Following this, she decides to see a therapist to address her mental health issues, depression, and trauma. But in the end, we do get a happy ending.

What I didn't like was how her alcohol addiction was handled.
Before Wes came into her life, she couldn't sleep without vodka, but suddenly, after meeting him, she's no longer an alcoholic and stops drinking just like that. Addiction doesn't just disappear because you've found the love of your life.
Another issue was how her childhood molestation trauma was portrayed. The moment she meets Wes, she sleeps with him, without any sign of panic or trauma response. That felt unrealistic, as if her past trauma wasn't fully addressed.

The depiction of her depression in the beginning wasn't deep either—she was simply having intrusive negative thoughts, and once Wes entered her life, it's like all her problems were magically solved.
Depression doesn't just vanish when you meet someone, but that's the feeling I got while reading.
The trauma of molestation and her alcoholism weren't explored in depth. It felt like Wes appeared, and all her trauma and addiction dissolved. I think the portrayal of addiction was under-researched and poorly executed.

The trauma that was well-written was the miscarriage, and the emotions Layne experienced afterward. Here, the depression was portrayed as really severe.

There’s something off that I don’t quite understand. At the beginning of the story, when Wes does research on Layne, it’s mentioned that her parents have no criminal record or traffic violations. But later in the story, we learn that her dad tried to kill her by drowning her, and her mother was sent to jail. So, how does that make sense?

Remember to live, Remember you die

Struggling with the demons of her past, Layne Murphy is living in a continuous downwards spiral. Unable to sleep without alcohol, plagued by dark nightmares, the only things keeping her afloat are her love of music and her best friend, Atlas.
Wes Larimore is happy living a solitary life, investigator with the district attorney by day, avenging demon by night. That is until the day he spots his new obsession at a Godsmack show. From the moment he lays eyes on Layne he knows she is his. He also recognises that she is slowly dying. Can he breathe new life into her tortured soul? Will she live for him?

I already knew whilst reading this book that I was going to really struggle in not making this review all about the perfection that is Wes Larimore. This man is seriously everything and all the things between. Not only sinfully skilled and sexy, Wes is also amazingly thoughtful and supportive. I think he may be the most considerate stalker I’ve ever read! Lol.

My heart absolutely broke over and over again for Layne. She deserved so much more than the life she was given. Her past is tragic and understandably haunts her – her internal monologue is so well written. Suffering with my own mental health issues, some of Layne’s thoughts were so relatable. As with any dark romance, please check the trigger warnings because I know this one will resonate hard with many. Layne is a survivor and truly found her fight with Wes by her side.

As mentioned, Izzy has done a fantastic job with the mental health representation throughout this book, never shying away from the deepest darkest thoughts depression can lead someone to. On the flip side, she has also injected some seriously funny moments showing the lighter side of Wes & Laynes relationship and of course, Atlas’ bff energy. Oh, and she also delivers a banging playlist!

As a metal worshiping, horror loving, depresso, alt girlie, this one spoke to my gothic soul. Every Morticia deserves to find her Gomez! 4🌟

Wow. This book had me going through all types of emotions. It is a dark romance so please make sure to read the trigger warnings but I really enjoyed this story. The back stories of both MCs will rip your heart out. I wanted to cry for both of them at times. I really felt for both MCs wanted to keep reading this story even after it was over.

The MCs made this book. What they went through, how they dealt with things, and how the people around them impacted their lives. It is so amazing that even though the MCs were both shaped by their previous trauma, they come from such different backgrounds. I loved Wes. I am not one to romanticize morally gray characters that do seriously questionable things, but I just felt so different about Wes. Although he does some very creepy things because of his obsession with Layne, I love that his day job is working for as an investigator for the DA. I love the love he has for his family and his interaction with Layne when they finally “meet”.

Layne tears at your soul. She has been through some very serious trauma and it has affected her greatly. She doesn’t always deal with her demons in the healthiest of ways. When she and Wes finally get together, it is like a cataclysmic event, healing each other with a huge helping of spicy spice. I loved Atlas and feel like every friend group has to have that balance of one super out going and one not so much.

This book is dark and anyone embarking on the journey of reading it should heed the trigger warnings and take them very seriously. There are some things in this book that could easily trigger someone. But if you see those and feel like you can handle them, this is a great book to pick up. It’s dark and spicy, but the emotions are strong and raw. I hated to see it end.

This book 🥹🥵🤤 it literally made me feel every emotion I could! Honestly I thought the writing in this book was amazing.

You have Wes the MMC who is the obsessive stalker/vigilante of San Francisco who also happens to work at the DA's office, his other side hobby other than stalking Is being a vigilante cleaning up the scum of the city 😍, he is a seriously smexy Scottish man with breathtaking bright green eyes I mean come on 🤤🥵 and the second he lays eyes on Layne (the FMC) that's that he is OBSESSED! Is he possessive? Hell to the yes he is, but by God he is absolutely smitten with her and in it for the long hall in this life and the next.
And then there's Layne the Vi/rgin FMC who has one hell of a trauma background, currently working at a little vintage store with her ride or die bestie for life Atlas (who in himself is an amazing character!)  She loves her metal music and band T's and doesn't even blink when she comes eye to eye with her stalker. And don't even get me started on their nicknames for eachother! 😍🥹

This book was just downright AMAZING! It made me feel all my feels from giggles to oh Sh*t, p@nting 😉 to crying to the end where I just felt happy and warm. The story and characters were so well thought out and written that you needed to keep turning the pages because you HAD to know what happened next!

Izzy, you have done such an outstanding job with this book, if I could find myself a Wes I would ☠️ happy and knowing how loved I am, thank you for allowing me to be an ARC for this book it was an honour.

This was an absolute pleasure to read. It was so rough, raw and slightly unhinged (Wes, I'm looking at you). It was simply incredible 🖤🖤🖤

Let me preface this by saying please read your triggers because this beauty is dark and your mental health matters 💚

So our fmc Layne is so alluring yet you can see how much pain she carries in her beautiful eyes. I really like Layne's character. Her growth was beautiful and heartbreaking but so worth it. She values her friendship with her best friend Atlas and that's the extent of it due to her devastating history.

Our mmc is Wes. Man, I love Wes so much. Yes he is a stalker, serial unaliver and all round what I would deem a walking red flag but that didn't stop me from falling in love with how much he loved Layne. Wes has also experienced pain in his life and that lead him down a very dark and dangerous path.

The plot was everything! It took me on a roller-coaster of emotions but it suited Layne and Wes's story so well. It was truly heart breaking to learn what both Wes and Layne went through and it truly shaped who they are. It's so sweet that we see Wes truly fall in love with Layne, yes I know it's through a rather unorthodox way but she becomes his reason. Layne, my girl, you are everything and more ❤️❤️❤️

Big shout out to Izzy. The respect shown when writing about mental health in your characters was phenomenal.

Read this story, I cannot recommend it enough.

Thank you so much to Izzy and your beautiful team for giving me the chance to read this story. I am forever grateful 🙏 All opinions are honest and my own ❤️

Holy crap. This book.

Let me first start by saying that Izzy can write the men you can only DREAM about. Insanely hot, vigilante justice enforcers who are obsessed, possessive and worship every single thing about their women. Wes is absolutely perfect and there is likely not a dang thing I wouldn’t give to have a man like him!

This book was SO GOOD I was thoroughly upset that I had to do real life and couldn’t just read it straight through. Layne is so heartbreaking from cover to cover and Wes just loves her so hard!

I love all the side characters, including their little cat in the last couple pages and both Gavin and Atlas were great additions to the story. Obviously now I’m waiting to get a book about Gavin 😏 and LOVED the tie in to Leonid! I’m so glad we got a peak into that part of the other story for a crossover.

WARNING if you are anything like me YOU. WILL. CRY. That’s all I’m gonna say about that, but I was bawling then happy again… then bawling at 5 AM and I just flat out wasn’t prepared for that kind of morning.

To all of you who read the short version of Layne and Wes and convinced Izzy that there needed to be more…. Cheers to you! I’m glad I didn’t get the taste because I SO LOVED this book. But I’m SO GLAD this author thought to give us the whole shebang because this is going into my vault of favorites and I will be purchasing a book trophy to keep on my shelves!

Lordddddd where do I start?!? I didn’t want this book to end because I was not done with Wessy and Layne, thank goodness there is more to come!

Please check the trigger warnings before starting!

Wes, you are the perfect stalker. Apparently that’s a troupe I love more than I realized, thanks to Wessy.
This story was heartbreaking in ways I did not anticipate, but then said heart was glued back together. I’m pretty sure I need more therapy now.

Layne you little baddie! You were dealt a terrible hand in life, but don’t worry Wessy is there to help you put those pieces together and lift you higher than you ever imagined. Due to all her past trauma she deals with many mental health issues. I believe Izzy does a beautiful job in showcasing them in the most realistic way. As someone who also suffers with similar issues, this felt perfectly executed and I appreciate that so much.

Now Wes our sweet🖤, serial unaliver 🔪, stalker, total nerd🤓 , and all around romantic (but only for Layne). He’s 1000% book husband material. His job comes in pretty handy for his little hobby. How he loves Layne is so swetet and supportive. He somehow knows what she needs without her having to say it, but boy is he big on her using her words 😏

This book was amazing!

It didn't go in the way I presumed it was gonna go, in the sense of dark and sinister twists and turns due to the stalker element - which I am saying in a positive way, because it was a refreshing change.

This book explores the dark side of mental health and how abuse can leave a person.

We are introduced to Wes, who is all in, downright looney bin over his woman, and will stop at nothing to be part of her life - even when she doesn't know it.
He will stop at nothing to get the woman he loves and whether she likes it or not, she is going to be his.

The woman in question is Layne. Layne may come across at the start as an innocent happy go lucky kinda gal.. but you're wrong. Inside she's dying, being eaten alive by the ghosts and demons of her past and even Wes has no idea how much she's dealing with.

Please please PLEASE check the trigger warnings. This book contains graphic, on page detail of child sexual abuse, stalking, baby loss and suicide. It's not for faint of heart and your mental health matters.

I couldn't put it down!

ARC Review

I loved the idea of this story. I wanted to love this book more because Wes and Layne are amazing. I love them together. But I really struggled with this book. I just felt like this book was going nowhere. I love a book with lots of spice and a little plot but this book was too long and drawn out for me. I was really hopeful in the beginning while Wes was stalking Layne and we were really sure about his job. Then when they got together and immediately got married, it started to go downhill for me. I just feel like there was nothing more to lead up to. I thought there would be more with Wes’ job. I needed more. I felt like it was pretty predictable. I just ended up skimming the last part of this book.

Now the spice was pretty good and heavy throughout the book. I did like the representation of mental health and the struggle Layne goes through. Please check the trigger warnings for this book. I signed up for it a long time ago and don’t remember it saying anything about pregnancy but that was a no for me. That’s my own problem that I didn’t know I had. With all that said, book was good.

Tormenting Me was entirely a beautiful read for a dark stalker romance. There were moments so heavy on the emotions that it was making me teary, moments that had me laughing, and moments that were so damn sexy.

I enjoyed every second reading it.

Wes and Layne’s relationship went from 0-100 real quick. No slow burn build up to the good stuff there. It fit these characters so much with Wes’s obsessive need to protect Layne from any harm. And Wes was just the most loveable MMC. The stalker, serial unaliver/vigilante and self-proclaimed nerd that he was,….perfection. Layne was an admirable FMC as well, she was truly a survivor and fighter and it was never a struggle for her to be compassionate, supportive and loving. I really loved watching their love blossom early on, becoming a couple that fit each other so well.

Their relationship didn’t escape some having some harsh challenges to overcome though. It was completely heart wrenching what Layne had to go through. Wes was so patient and supportive throughout it all.

Atlas was also an amazing character. The interactions between him and Wes consistently made me laugh.

🖤🖤🖤

“Tormenting Me” unfolds the complete narrative of Wes and Layne.

Layne possesses a profoundly moving backstory; she is both a fighter and a survivor, yet she also radiates kindness, understanding, strength, and a touch of playfulness. Wes, an investigator with the DA, dedicates his free time to vigilante pursuits. Following the heartbreaking loss of his sister, he vowed to ensure that other predators are brought to justice.

Wes emerges as the captivating and protective male lead, impossible to resist. He treats Layne with the highest regard, respect, and kindness, showing intentionality in all his actions.
