Enemies clash, Secrets burn, and Love defies every law...

Emily Nightsom is a wolf shifter born to lead. Strong, fierce, and fiercely loyal, her pack has always assumed she’ll rise as their next alpha, even though she has repeatedly said otherwise. But Emily harbors a secret—a weakness buried so deeply she’s sworn no one will ever discover it. If it comes to light, it could shatter her pack’s trust and destroy the one thing she’s fought to her family. She’s willing to shoulder the burden of leadership if she has to—but not until every other option is gone.

Then there’s Jackson Tryne, Alpha of the Slate Pack. Enemy. Annoyance. Predator. The wolf shifter who kissed her years ago on a reckless dare—and left her wanting more even as she swore she’d never forgive his arrogance. Jackson has wanted Emily ever since that moment, but her rejection only fueled his desire to prove himself worthy of the untouchable, untamable wolf who refuses to be claimed. Now, with a deadly assassin closing in on her, Jackson doesn’t he takes her, hides her, and vows to protect her—even if it means breaking every law of the packs.

Emily’s fury is matched only by the fire between them. She’s spent years fighting her feelings for Jackson, but he’s done waiting. As the danger around them grows, her carefully guarded walls start to crumble, exposing not just her heart but the secret that could ruin her. Jackson is determined to have her, no matter the cost, but when the truth comes out, will he still see her as the fierce warrior he’s always loved? Or will it tear them—and their packs—apart?

Predator by Rebecca Zanetti
Stope Packs series #4. Paranormal wolf shifter romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Emily Nightson has alpha blood. She is prepared to be the leader of the Slate Pack when her father is ready to give up the position, but she doesn’t really want it, nor does she want to kill because of a challenge. She can and will if necessary though. But she also has a secret that may change everything.
Jackson Tryne is the Alpha of the Granite Pack and he needs a mate. He’s chosen Emily. They shared a kiss back when they were really just kids, but he knows she’s the one. He arranges for Emily to spend time with his pack. With a bit of underlying manipulation. Ok, a lot. Emily agrees with conditions of her own.
There is another hidden enemy. Someone has sabotaged mining functions in the Granite Pack for the second time. Then the helicopter with Jackson and Emily is shot down. Can anyone be trusted?

Suspense, intrigue and sizzling heat plus humorous small town antics, make this story engrossing as it moves quickly from family to enemies, from fighting to heat, and pack to pack. More territory, miles, wolf packs, and treachery exposed.
Best of the series so far!

Predator, Stope Packs Book 4, is my favourite of the bunch thus far. I loved Emily Nightstrom even before she took centre stage, and apparently the same goes for Jackson Tryne’s Granite Pack. So, although Emily arrives at Granite territory to play matchmaker for their Alpha, the entire pack isn’t buying her “I’m not Alpha mate material” line for even a split second. The way they welcome her is adorable, like a wolf puppy who won’t let go of its favourite stuffy. The Granites are steadfast and endearing in their quest to make Emily one of the family.

Emily divides her time vetting other alpha females to date Jackson, trying to find out what’s making herself sick, and posturing about her Alpha-in-waiting status within her father’s Slate Pack. The latter is necessitated by her scuzzy cousin’s designs on grabbing power within Slate, with or without Phillip Nightstrom’s blessing. It keeps the girl busy.

“𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚 𝙠𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚.”

Jackson is delectably sexy, protective, and patient. He plays along with the matchmaking, but uses the dates as opportunities to make new alliances that benefits both sides, quietly building a stronger and larger Granite Pack. His challenges are keeping up with the dates while actually wooing Emily, protecting Emily from kidnappers, and preventing sabotage of his mines. He’s busy, too.

Rebecca Zanetti crafts another humourous, sexy, and suspenseful romance filled with shifters who look hot in both forms and don’t mind being naked in either one. Where is she hiding the recipe for the secret sauce that turns out the perfect dish each time?

Trite repetitive and predictable, so I obviously liked it because I was looking forward to reading this story. Also it should have been the last one, instead it will follow another paranormal romance with wolves and I can't ask for a better treat.

Loved it!

I always love a storyline where I can't figure out who the villain is! Fantasy isn't my first go-to but no one does it better than Rebecca. I've already pre-order ed book 5.

There is trouble in those hills

Predator is book 4 in the Stops Packs series. Subterfuge, mating, illnesses and betrayal is all in thus book, it is a wicked ride.

Emily, an alpha female, has been fighting an illness for about a month and its getting worse. With her aging father and no one to take over the pack her illness needs to be kept a secret.

Jackson is the Alpha of the Granite pack and is investigating mishaps in his mines while fighting elders in his pack forcing him to mate or loose his status as Alpha. There is only one woman Jackson would ever mate and that was Emily.

This is one of those books that needs to be read in one sitting. I had to put the book down inorder to deal with dinner. I though most of the intense moments had passed. WRONG!!!!. I thought things would start calming down. WRONG!!!! The nail biting moments continued. The danger was extreme.

I had stopped at a point that was very poor planning on my part. I could not stop thinking about what was happening. I couldn't stop thinking about who was behind everything. I couldn't stop wondering how it would all end.

This has been such a thrilling, fun series to read. I am so happy to see that there is more to come.

Predator is a faced-paced, standalone, fun-filled romantic adventure.

Predator (Stope Packs Book 4) is a fun-filled, action-packed, standalone, steamy romantic adventure. Emily and Jackson’s HEA tale has it all; heart, heat and charm all wrapped up in a masterfully-crafted romantic suspense novel. I loved every minute!

Ok first off, I think I got my book days earlier than expected but didn’t sign up or receive as an arc?
So I guess thanks Apple! Secondly, super happy the cover was changed! The original one made this poor man look demented.
Thirdly, terrific installment to the Stopes pack books! I’ve been greatly enjoying this series and I’m looking forward to the final book when it releases. Great world building, strong pairings for all the couples, good action, and steamy!

Two more phenomenal characters in this series. Jackson was the strong, silent alpha, letting his actions speak for him. He didn't take any nonsense from anybody. And he claimed Emily long before anything happened between them, even when she was determined to find him a mate (that was not her). Emily was very stoic about her future fate. She also just did her best to get things done and she was proactive about her situation. They fit together really well. I loved Jackson's pack's efforts to bring them together. It brought some much needed levity in between all the angst and uncertainty. The villain certainly came out of left field, and though I usually appreciate this, in this instant, it was a bit hard to believe. Other than that, I enjoyed the way Jackson and Emily danced around each other and the action that unfolded at a fairly fast pace. It's not necessary to read these books in order, but I think it would be worth it.

3.5 stars!

Book #4 in the Stope Packs series, this is a fun and actiony wolf shifter romance with great chemistry and a sweet love story, and I really enjoyed this read.

Jackson is the alpha of the Slate Pack, and he needs a mate in order to hold on to his role. Emily is the daughter of the alpha of the Granite Pack who is poised to take the reigns from her father, even though it’s a role she doesn’t want. Jackson and Emily shared a moment years ago, and though Jackson flirts with her wildly, nothing further has happened between them. They do want each other, and though Emily continuously pushes Jackson away, he knows she is the one for him, and he’s done waiting.

“Why are you fucking here, Jackson?”
Those blue eyes landed on Emily with a force stronger than the current storm. “I’m here for what’s mine.”

It’s a good set-up, and it gets even more entertaining as Jackson whisks Emily away to his pack, where she is fawned over by everybody wanting her to mate their alpha, and she spends her time setting him up with other women as potential mates. All the while, he’s just waiting for her to come to her senses. But Emily has a secret – she’s unwell, and she’s not prepared to risk Jackson’s heart if her time is limited.

Complicating matters, danger is closing in from both within their packs, and from a rogue outside pack. They’re facing threats from multiple angles, which brings plenty of action and makes their situation all the more intense. It all works to push Jackson and Emily together, and I loved watching her walls come down as they give in to their wild chemistry and find their way to each other.

“My eyes are on you, baby, and you know it.”

This is a fun read. I loved Jackson and Emily, their chemistry is great, and their inevitable romance is fun to watch. We get to see the couples from the previous books in the series, which I really enjoyed, and though you can read this one as a standalone, there are ongoing shifter politics, and things are building towards the last book in the series, which I am really looking forward to.

I’m enjoying this series, and this was a great read.

3.5 stars.

Predator is the fourth book in the Stope Packs by Rebecca Zanetti. The first half of this book is pretty much identical to the previous book Shifter. The leading female character hides a secret and continually pushes against the leading male insisting she can’t be his mate. It’s so similar and so annoying I stopped reading and actually read a couple of other books instead. I finally picked Predator back up and finished, but sadly, the break between didn’t help.

Emily and Jackson have felt a deep attraction towards each other for years. They apparently shared a kiss when they were younger and have both known there was something special between them. They are in different packs which causes a problem because both feel loyalty to the one they are currently in. Jackson is the Alpha and Emily is born to lead her pack, but her secret is not only the reason she pushes Jackson away, but also the reason she’s hiding that she can’t take over when her father (the current alpha) dies.

Someone is after Emily, both packs are getting attacked by other packs and they’re all stumbling around trying to figure out what to do. It’s really confusing trying to keep up with which packs are aligned and which are not. Not to mention there appears to be all these other random smaller groups of wolves living together around them who are conveniently without alphas. In each book, the main featured pack has needed to increase it’s number of members because of the ones they loss to the poison from a bad wolf pack(s) - incidentally, this apparently happened to most of the other packs, yet none of them have been honest and told the other packs that they are supposedly aligned with about their losses. In the middle of all this, Emily is trying to arrange/advertise/schedule dates for Jackson for a potential mate. It’s ridiculous.

This has not been my favorite series from RZ. There is another book, Enforcer, but it’s not scheduled for release until early next year. I may or may not continue with this series.

This is the 4th book in this series and in this book we are focused on the Slate and Granite Packs. We are introduced to our FMC Emily Nightson. Emily has alpha blood and is in line to become the Alpha of the Slate Pack. Unfortunately, she is hiding a secret. She has an illness. She doesn't know what it is but she is getting sicker and sicker. Her mother and grandmother died early of an unknown illness and she is terrified to tell her father - the current Alpha - because the pack is in a vulnerable position right now.

Then we meet MMC Jackson Tryne, Alpha of the Granite Pack. He shared a kiss with Emily many years ago and has not been able to forget her. He is being told that he has to mate to strengthen his hold on his pack and his first choice is Emily. Obviously that is going to be a problem.

There are all kinds of things going on in this book. There is someone sabotaging the mines of the Granite Pack, and then Emily's father is attacked and seriously injured. Emily is kidnapped.....twice...and that is only the beginning.

There is drama and betrayal and non stop action along with the growing attraction that Emily and Jackson are either denying or trying to fight. As usual, there was a twist at the end as well.

Another good entry in this series.

Loved this story! Emily and Jackson kissed when they were 14… then Jackson’s dad died. At age 15 Jackson had to become Alpha.
Emily’s dad, who is alpha, promised her to Jackson for mining rights and a coalition of the two packs. Emily is not happy about the agreement. She’s been having health issues and does not want to include Jackson and his pack.
Jackson is set on Emily being his mate. When she agrees to help him find a mate, he is agreeable since she’ll be in his territory. She’s already been kidnapped and he just wants to protect her.
Her half sister is found and is a sweetheart spit fire. While Emily is in Jackson’s territory, she is actually kidnapped twice. He is on a mission to help her. She’s set on secretively figuring out her health issues.
As they navigate who is blowing up Jackson’s mines, Emily’s illness, and who’s behind her kidnappings, they are falling in love.
This story is action packed. Keeps you guessing. There is a happy ending. And an opening for the next book. I can’t wait continue this journey.

Lots of unexpected in this one. Jackson and Emily were attracted to each other years ago when they shared a kiss in their teenage years. Despite that, Emily ends up betrothed to Seth and we met her then and again with Eric in their books though they were very clear that none of the Alphas were interested in the mating romantically.

Emily was somewhat lackluster as she was sickly the most of the book. The inbreeding was not a surprise to me when we learn her mother/grandmother had same issues but not nearly as early. Then we have the constant attacks on her with the same MO every time. Geesh, no one could figure out who this was but they all had 'superior noses'. A little crazy. The issue with her dad being attacked and no one never seems to be protecting these older Alphas as well.

Still all in all a good read and I'm looking forward to Nadia and Caidrick's story.

The 4th book in the series is as pound pulsing and exciting as all the other books in this series.

This is the story of Emily Nightsom and Jackson Tryne. Emily is the daughter of Philip Nightsom, the Alpha of the Slate Pack, and Jackson, the Alpha of the Granite Pack. They fell in love when they first kissed as teenagers, but Emily has been refusing to admit she is in love with Jackson ever since. Jackson has been waiting for her to agree to mate, but Emily is hiding a secret from everyone, including her dad. Throw in a new sister, an angry cousin, and two rebel packs giving all of the Stopes Packs trouble, and it is another blockbuster. I loved it, and can't wait for the next book!!

Villain or hero?

Jackson has been an enigmatic figure since we met him in the first Stope Packs book and his reappearances since then haven't really defined him. So we finally find out who he is in this installment of the Stopes Packs. Is he lurking waiting for an opportunity to take over a pack? This apparent playboy who spends all his nights partying with women? We all love a bad boy. But is he who he seems? What drives this man? And who is sabotaging his pack? And who is saving who in this engaging book?

The book is filled with all the twists and turns of a Rebecca Zanetti book at its best. Dive in to solve the mysteries that surround Jackson and Emily.

Emily & Jackson

Jackson and Emily have intrigued me since they first appeared in the Stope Packs series. Emily always seemed to be suave and chill while Jackson just oozed dark energy and BDE. If you know what I mean. Emily always seemed so tough and capable but she's far from that in this book. It is explained by her unknown genetic/inherited illness, but it's still frustrating. The alpha males in this series are always saving the females in one way or another. And while it's hot, I wish it wasn't necessary all of the time. Still an amazing read and Rebecca Zanetti continues to be one of my favorite authors ever.

Predator is an action-packed suspenseful read with engaging characters and an exciting storyline that kept me engaged until the very end.

Jackson and Emily are brilliant together. Both of Alpha blood, they’re equally stubborn, fiercely loyal, and dutybound to their packs. I loved watching these two dance around one another and I especially loved how Jackson’s pack got in on matchmaking Jackson and Emily. It was so funny and completely heartwarming!

This book can easily be read as a standalone but I invite you to check out the entire series. Each story is just as exciting as the next.

I highly recommend the series and any book by Rebecca Zanetti.

I have enjoyed this whole series. With that I totally got into Emily's and Jackson story. Emily is from the Slate pack the daughter of the Alpha. Jackson is the Alpha of the Granite pack. They grow up together and as teens share a kiss. Jackson knows right then that Emily is his mate. But at a very young age he is force to become Alpha
of his pack. The Council is on him to mate so he turns to Emily. Emily it seems has a secret. Also someone or someone's wants both packs for themselves. Kidnapping ,sabotage and other incidents start happening. Will Jackson convince Emily that they are meant for each other and find out what is going on in their packs? Great read!

I love this series!!!!

I absolutely love this series! Predator was great and I wish I could read it again with the same suspense and excitement as the first time!!

Emily and Jackson are inevitable. You could feel it in the last book and in this. But whomever is sabotaging the mines, kidnapping Emily, and attacking alphas is not who you would expect. I called it and whoa! Was I wrong!!

This is a must read and I have to say the ending has me more than excited for the next book. If only the release was tomorrow!!

Great Paranormal and Great Mystery

Emily and Jackson met as teenagers and shared one kiss. Shortly afterwards he became Alpha of his pack and he had to put all thoughts he had on hold to learn to be a leader and keep his pack whole.
Emily is the daughter of the Alpha of another pack and has begun suffering from an unknown illness that she’s kept secret.
Both packs face challenges and are being threatened as Emily and Jackson try to figure out what’s best for them as well as their packs.
Loved it, read it in a day.

Jackson and Emily are both Alphas, but with competing packs. They both know they are meant for each other from an early age, but stubborn streaks, family loyalties and other issues get in the way. I enjoyed seeing how all of that is resolved for two such strong personalities and enjoyed their interplay. As always, Ms. Zanetti keeps everything on the edge with her subordinate characters, plot twists and emotion-filled scenes. I'm looking forward to the final Stope Packs book but will be sorry to see them go--maybe somehow cross them over into another one of her series? Highly recommended.

This is my favorite of the Stope Packs books so far. It was a little long, the plot did not support the length to me, could have added some more character development or more romance to help support the story. Everything thing seem to be thrown together at the end. I hope Nadia and Caidrik don't spend the next book fighting each other. instead of coming together and fighting the bad guys . Can't wait to find out.

Good book

This book is full of action. A little bleak in the beginning with Emily’s secret illness and the tough situation between her pack and Jackson’s pack, each having their own issues. But it picks up once she visits his pack and interact with him more. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow. He is such a strong alpha male who is very capable, a good fighter and protective of her. I liked their soft moments together.

Loved all of the Stope Packs books!

I loved all the different characters and their stories. The mysteries that unravel thru each book kept me looking for the answers. I was surprised how wrong I was because usually I am good at figuring them out before its revealed. Can't wait to read the last book and hating that it'll be the last to this series. Thank you Rebecca Zanetti for sharing your story telling talents. 😼

Always enjoy reading RAZ's books

The politics thicken. Emily and Jackson both feel a strong sense of loyalty to their packs, but the mate bond is stronger.. Well developed world and characters. Deception and intrigue abound as the two packs struggle against threats from within and outside
Well worth my time and $$ as always
