Dancing in the Graveyard: A Collection of Short Stories ... Tales of the Mystical

Rate this book
In Sandra Fox Murphy’s collected stories, her tall tales are often told from the other side. Many stories are set in early Texas or in early America, capturing the spirited color and settlers of the country in its becoming. “Dancing in the Graveyard” is a tragedy set in modern times, while “Picnic on the Island” goes all the way back to the Civil War at Fort Delaware. “Serendipity” is a joyful story inspired by the author’s time as a hospice volunteer, and “Spellbound” takes us into hard times of the future. Murphy’s stories are full of history and characters that seem to appear, at times, from thin air.
