Whewww, chile. Man Of Few Words by Connie Easton? Yeah... this one had me cheesin’, blushin’, and clutchin’ my pearls ALL at the same time. This is book two in the Brown Brothers series, and while Xander in Man of the Year had us hollerin’ with his wild, unhinged energy—his brother Nico? He’s just as crazy, but cool with it. Blue pill instead of red. Same chaos, just delivered in silence.
Let’s get into it.
Nico Brown is the definition of lowkey obsessive. Like… this man stalked Ross for 492 DAYS. Let me say that again: FOUR HUNDRED NINETY-TWO DAYS. And Ross? She let him. She was into it. The tension between these two? Immaculate. They were watching each other from across rooms, studying each other’s routines, knowing they belonged together before either one said a word.
Ross is no passive player either. She’s a whole private investigator, so best believe she knew everything about Nico before he even made his move. When they finally collide? Oh baby. Fireworks. He’s ready to make her his wife, have some babies, and build a life. Real quick, real intentional.
But what I loved most about Nico is that underneath the cold, quiet exterior, he’s just a man who wants to love and be loved. He’s TTG for his woman and he does NOT play about her. Ever. And Ross? She’s soft with an edge. Hyper-independent, a little stubborn, but deeply loyal once she feels safe. Watching them navigate their love—with all the bickering, banter, and balcony spice (if you know, you know)—was a whole experience.
This book gave:
💙 Soft stalker-core (you just had to be there)
🧨 Tension so thick you could slice it
💥 Alpha meets alpha energy
👀 Quiet obsession, loud declarations
🔥 Spicy scenes that made me want to step outside
Connie Easton has the pen on LOCK. The pacing, the dual POV, the buildup, the payoff? All of it hit. If you loved Man of the Year, this is the perfect follow-up. And if you haven’t read either—run, don’t walk.
5 stars. No skips. And now the real question: are you team Nico or team Xander? Red pill or blue pill? 👀
