Keeping Indigo: Damaged Goods Book 2

Rate this book
A girl can wake up in a trunk only so many times before she starts to wonder if maybe she’s the problem…

My name is Indigo Evans, and I cheerfully identify as a problem (most of the time). The life I built brick by brick with Los Cuervos MC was in danger. Uncle Roark and the Irish mob, partnered with an unknown enemy, threaten to destroy all the hard work and personal growth Sheila and I have achieved in the months since Hoodie Guy’s timely demise.
Just as I started to build a life with the Crows and began to explore the chemistry between me and a certain growly biker, disaster struck. I’ll do just about anything to protect the people I’ve come to care about, even if that means facing down the scariest monster of them the Beast of Boston.

All I thought I wanted was for Indigo to leave town. How wrong could one man be?

My name may be Priest, but I seldom pray. God and I have gone our separate ways ever since the murder of my sister, but I’ll be damned if he wasn’t hearing from me now. Someone was attacking my home, kidnapping my brother and the woman I was starting to…not hate. As threats surround the Crows, we may have to look for unconventional allies to ensure our club’s survival and continue our mission to help those who need it most of all. Despite the danger, my mind is overrun with thoughts of a clinically quirky girl with green eyes and indigo hair. Will I be able to protect her, or will I fail Indigo as spectacularly as I failed my sister when she needed me most?

Keeping Indigo is book two of the Damaged Goods Series, and cannot be read as a standalone. It is intended for readers aged 18+. If you like dark humor, spice (3-4 chili peppers depending on your spice tolerance), a crazy fierce FMC, sexy bikers, vicious mobsters, and best friends this book is for you!

Tropes Include: he falls first, found family, mafia/bratva, MC romance, grumpy/sunshine, vigilante justice, healing & comfort
Trigger Warning: This novel contains material that may disturb some readers. It open-door sexual content, graphic violence, references to past SA (not graphically detailed), references to the death of a family member (off-page), torture, and references to human trafficking. Your mental health is important, so please read responsibly.

✨🖤 ARC Review🖤✨

Keeping Indigo by Meridith Gray
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️.5
🔪🔪🔪

First and foremost, I want to thank Meridith Gray for gifting me an e-arc of Keeping Indigo and allowing me to read this ahead of release. This review is voluntary and all opinions are honest and my own.

This book has to one of my favorite reads of the year. I ate this book from start to finish.

I want to be apart of Indi’s Wicked Sisterhood so bad. You pick up off the cliffhanger from the first book so you jump right into the badassery. I laughed so hard throughout some of this that my ribs hurt. The banter between Indi and everyone she encounters is refreshing. Indi is still working through decades of trauma and learning to love herself and who she is becoming while she’s healing and dealing with her past is making a reappearance. There are multiple POVs. In short, Indi is like a weird and unhinged woman and the easiest way I can encompass her thoughts is how I encompass mine — a dumpster rave party for raccoons.

Also I need to know now tf is going on with Rook?? And Bones needs to get his shit together..

Damaged Goods Series Book 2

I was so happy I could immediately dive into book 2 after the cliffhanger in Becoming Indigo.
I said it before and I'll say it again, I freaking LOVE Indigo! I have a serious lady crush on her. She is legit one of the best FMCs and will forever live rent-free in my mind. She has some of the best inner monologues and comments that had me completely dissolving into stitches of laughter. The dark humor in this series is just a chefs kiss.

Priest was growly, grumpy, and sexy as ever. He's far from the perfect Prince Charming, he's a work in progress. He's also passionate and loyal and that's what makes him such a great MMC.

This book had edge-of-my-seat action and suspense. I was thoroughly entertained and couldn't get enough.

The bonds Indigo forged throughout the series with the MC guys and gals as well as her long-lost Bratva family were truly the best found family ever. I also really loved how we got the other little romances developing through the story. The multiple POVs worked really great.

Contains:
Vigilante
Enemies-to-lovers
Grumpy + Sunshine
MC
Mafia
Dark Humor
Graphic
Found Family
Multiple POV

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Keeping Indigo – A Perfect Follow-Up That Hits Every Emotion

I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for Keeping Indigo, and wow—this book was every bit as amazing as the first! It dives even deeper into Indi’s healing journey, showing her growth as she finds love, builds unshakable friendships, and finally discovers the family she’s always deserved.

The emotional depth in this sequel is incredible. It balances heartbreak and humor perfectly—one minute you’re laughing out loud, the next you’re clutching your chest. And let’s just say… I will never look at a Dairy Queen the same way again. Also, pinkies? Completely fascinating after this read.

The MMC is broody, tender, and everything you could want in a slow-burn romance. The connection that started in Becoming Indigo reaches new levels here, exceeding every expectation. This series is raw, real, and unforgettable—an absolute must-read for anyone who loves messy, beautiful healing and love that feels earned.

Man, I didn’t think I could love Indigo more than I already did—but Keeping Indigo definitely proved me wrong. Meridith Gray is a Bobdamned comedic and emotional powerhouse! The humor in this one is top tier—my family kept giving me side-eye for laughing out loud while reading.

Between the pop culture chaos, Indi’s unmatched hilarity (IYKYK—that lipstick taser 🤣), and the deeper vulnerability we see from her and those around her, this story hit every emotion perfectly. Meridith masterfully balances laugh-out-loud humor with raw, heartfelt moments that stick with you long after the last page.

And listen… I need more. Like yesterday. Bones, Lennon, Cricket, Sutton—and Rook?! What is going on there, Meridith?! 👀 I’m officially invested in every single one of them.

Oh—and DO 👏 NOT 👏 skip 👏 that 👏 bonus 👏 scene. You’ll thank me later!

Book 2 has more drama with the motorcycle club with the different mafias. More adventures with kidnapping(s?), jail, traitors, and stabbings. More spice as Indigo and Priest continue to develop their relationship. Indigo is more confident in who she is and her healing journey. There’s just more love from her found extended family, which leaves me with the warm fuzzy feelings on the inside.

A lot of POV’s, 7 I think, so there are moments I was taken out of the action for background story of other characters. I think I would have been happy with learning some of the characters stories in their own books. With that said I am curious to see how some of these relationships play out. Bones and Cricket seem like if they want their girls they need to beg and crawl for forgiveness.

But WTF is with Rook!?! When’s Book 3?

*** ARC REVIEW ***

Oh, my Bob!!!! Meridith Gray’s talent is on full display!

‘Keeping Indigo’ is AMAZING! Brilliantly written. Incredibly thoughtful with Indigo’s traumas. And, if that’s not enough to draw you in, the spice is next level! 🌶️❤️‍🔥

Indigo is a trained killer, who is also a lost Bratva princess. And the things she thinks and says will have you laughing so hard it’ll leave you crying and holding your ribs. All in all, she’s the steroid version of Harley Quinn. Priest is the arrogant, bad boy biker who enjoys to have people in his confessional. (Which will NOT help you get to Heaven.) He’s the VP of The Crows MC. An all-around bad-ass!

Their love is explosive! Yet, it’s where they find the most peace. Crazy and beautiful…just like the two of them.

This may be the ‘conclusion’ of our dynamic duo, but have no fear…coming in 2026 will be the next book in the Damaged Goods Series…Lennon and Bones!!!

*Please read the trigger warnings. Book 2 is much more intense than Book 1.*

Listen, I was absolutely obsessed with Becoming Indigo and Keeping Indigo was the perfect, chaotic ending to Priest and Indigo’s story. I will die on a hill that Indigo is my favorite FMC ever. She is unhinged, unpredictable, and I never know what wild thing is going to come out of her mouth next. I very much want to be part of her Wicked Sisterhood, thank you very much. This book had me laughing, crying, and spiraling all the way through. The plot was multilayered and complicated, and I loved watching it all come together in the most satisfying way.

Book two picks up right where the first left off on a cliffhanger, letting Indigo fully embrace her baddie energy. The story explores multiple perspectives, which set up the rest of the series beautifully, though it could be a bit overwhelming at times. I loved seeing Indigo finally get her happy ever after.

Indigo may have her ending, but I’m not over her yet—I’ll be screaming for her antics in every future book. If you love chaotic, hilarious, and completely unhinged heroines, do yourself a favor and dive into this duet.

I really had so much fun reading book one and book two of this series! I love Indigo so much. Despite the horrors that she went through it never diminished her ability to find happiness where she could. Every step she took she took with purpose and an open heart. And we as the readers get to go through this journey of healing and finding love, family and acceptance.

Ok, let me start off this review by saying that initially I had not read the first book in this series when I started this one and I just couldn't get into it after trying to read it 2-3 times. Then I decided I would read the first book in the series and continue with this one and I'm so glad I did. I really enjoyed the first book, "Becoming Indigo" and while it's not technically necessary to read the first book, I think it definitely helps when you know more about the characters, especially with alternating POV's.

Now, on to this book. I think this book was just as good as the first if not better. This one is slightly more serious and I found it to be more emotional. I love these characters and Indigo & Priest are adorable together. I love how they took their time to form their relationship and they didn't just hop into bed together. I love the buildup and yearning and because of this I see their relationship as strong, healthy and long lasting.

I absolutely adore Indigo's quirky one liners, her singing and her silly antics. You would think that her and Priest wouldn't work together but they just do.

This was a great read and I'm looking forward to continuing this series.

Thank you to the author for access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

most excellent

This book is officially in my top five most favorite series EVER! I’ve laughed and cried and squealed while reading this wonderfully written book that I call an MC and the Bratva meet the snarky Rambo Barbie angel of eternal rest🤣. I so want to be in the bestie sisterhood with Indigo because I fell in love with her character. And this author sure can create some awesome ones. Indigo is an orphan that was very mistreated through her whole life and after getting taken by a serial k dude who she nicknamed Hoodie guy and she sends him to eternal rest and later finds out he’s the number one wanted dude by an MC and they swear to always protect her for ummm services rendered to Hoodie is just the beginning of the unraveling of her past and demons. And you better buckle up peeps because this is one wild ride you will not be able to put down! Trust me 10/10 I want to read it again and can’t wait for more wonderful stories from Meridith Gray. Chefs kiss perfection.
