In a remote part of the kingdom of Akureyrian, a powerful Fae has been living in hiding for the past one hundred years. Ever since her family was murdered, Kaari has honed her skills as a healer, allowing her to keep her powerful magic hidden from those who seek her. But when the Prince of Akureyrian is injured while traveling through the ancient woods near her home, Kaari is given a chance to leave her life of solitude. And when she encounters the once banished undercreatures beyond the bounds of the Holvik Woods, she will be forced to face her past with the Prince of Akureyrian and his royal Treyst at her side. As her feelings for the prince grow, new dangers will arise that will threaten to expose Kaari’s secrets and shatter her most heartbreaking truths.
I absolutely loved everything about this book! Molly used incredible storytelling to achieve a beautiful world that simply dragged me in! INSPIRING! The vivid descriptions had me envisioning super surreal scenes. The book follows a an exciting pace which I found myself reading at a canter and clinging to every word! Still on the edge of my seat to see what unfolds next!
I couldn’t put this book down! Molly Parker is a gifted storyteller well worth reading. Her debut novel, A Healer’s Heart, will have you gasping and flipping pages until you wish there was more!
Of all of the books I have won through goodreads, this is my favorite by far. If you love romantasy this one is a must read. I cannot wait for the next book!
I absolutely loved this book! Such a great story with lots of imagination and so much strength in the main character who I fell in love with. A woman with power and humility who truly does have a healer's heart. I was so sad for the ending but looking forward to book number 2!!!
This was one of the most engaging and beautiful debut novels I’ve read. It’s hard to be unique in this genre, especially right now, but Molly has managed to shine through. She has created a beautifully crafted world and characters that I fell into and can’t wait to continue exploring. I am waiting in great anticipation for the next story!
100 percent worth the read! I absolutely could not put this book down. I couldn’t believe how easily I became attached to the characters, how strong my emotions were throughout the entire book. Between crying and giggling like a mad woman I fell madly in love with this story. I can’t wait to read what comes next!
This story had me hooked and I struggled to put it down. The romance will suck you in, and the turmoil and intensity will break your heart but have you eagerly waiting for the next book to be released (I know I already am!). With twists and turns in the plot to keep you at the edge of your seat, romance to keep you up late hours into the night feeling every heart flutter that Kaari experiences, and enough picturesque description for you to picture yourself within the magical kingdom of Akureyrian - this is a hard book to put down.
Yes, as the author I am biased. But this story has lived rent-free in my mind for years and these characters have my heart.
It’s a story of love, resilience, and finding strength in the face of grief and uncertainty, set in a world of magic, political intrigue, and Norse-inspired mythology. Writing Kaari’s journey has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. She’s a character who feels so real to me—a healer grappling with her duty to others while navigating her own scars and desires.
This book is for readers who enjoy complex relationships, and a mix of romance and adventure in a richly built fantasy world. If you love stories where the characters’ emotions are as important as the battles they fight, you might enjoy this one.
I hope it’s a story that resonates with readers, and I’d love to hear your honest thoughts if you decide to pick it up. Thank you for taking a chance on Kaari and her world—it’s a privilege to share it with you.
This book was gripping from start to finish. The descriptions were so tangible I could smell, and see, and taste this book as if I were existing in Akureyrian myself. I couldn’t stop turning the pages! Can’t wait for the sequel.
