0.0% Trying to catch up with this series :) Looking forward to getting Noah's story :D"

9% I could see the words coming out of her mouth before I could hear them.
Oh shit! :( that was one hell of a mistake noah! Though I admire him for not being a coward n breaking up with her face to face while trying to protect her :/

10% I held her tight in my arms, content with the fact that I’d do just about anything to take away her pain, including beating the shit out of his scrawny ass. He’d cheated and lied so many times, but she never learned. “Bells, you know you can’t keep doin’ this to yourself.”
Oh poor bella! :( I love that noah n bella still have that connection! :D

12% The older I got the more I knew I needed to have a talk with my parents. Obviously I wasn’t my father, and the sooner everyone realized that the better my life would become.
I'm starting to like noah - I love the relationship he has with bella n I feel sorry for him feeling like he can't leave :(

14% Do you know how hard it is to wake up every day and know that someone has your future planned out for you? I’m sick of it.
Oh poor Noah :( I know colts going to be pissed (more because he'll be hurt) but if he's like I remember him to be he'll get over it eventually :) I hope!

17% This was a long time coming and I was positive that if I did it while everyone was around, I’d at least have a few people on my side, supporting my decision.
Oh shit! I don't think this is gonna end well.... :(

19% “Dad, I’m tryin’ to tell you that I was protectin’ –.”
Oh colt! Listen to him! I feel sorry for Noah though I still love this family :)

21% She’d made her choice, just like the rest of my family. I’d never be able to do anything right in their eyes and I was done trying to change that.
Oh Noah! I feel sorry for you but you do go about things the wrong bloody way! :/

26% I haven’t driven something this big before.” The truck filled with his laughter. “I get that all the time.” I scrunched up my face. “Eww, please don’t talk bullshit to me while I’m trying to focus on the road.”
I'm really enjoying these together - I'm really looking forward to seeing alot more of them! Was thinking this would be a 3 star but if I love Noah n shalan together as much as I think I might this may turn out to be a 3.5 stars - rounded up to 4 :)

30% So there we were, two strangers on a road trip with no idea where we were headed.
Oh this sounds intriguing :)

33% “It’s takin’ all of my willpower not to take you upstairs right now and fuck the shit out of you, woman. I ain’t even goin’ to lie about it. That right there just made my dick hard.”
I love that shalan can affect Noah like that n I love that Noah's not hiding it from her! :D

37% His huge ego annoyed me, but it also made me hot between my legs.
I get that! :D he's cocky but it makes him hot! Especially as I have a feeling it's truth not cockiness haha :D

41% Now, dry those eyes and stop feelin’ sorry for yourself. You and I are going to get out on that stage tonight and make sure everyone there sees what I see when I look into those eyes, and when I hear that voice of yours.”
Awww Noah is so sweet sometimes! :D I'm enjoying this book :)

She felt so good in my arms, like she was supposed to fit like she did. It had started out as support, but the longer I held her, the more it was beginning to feel like something other than a shoulder to cry on. I actually wanted to hold her, to feel her close to me.
I love that Noah's starting to really think about shalan - you can definitely tell he's starting to fall for her :D <3

43% I flipped her around so she was facing me. Her eyes, filled with both fear and excitement, glistened as the sunset came through the window. “Like I said, if I can’t play.”
I'm really staring to love their flirting and banter :) it's definitely hot and these two definitely have chemistry!

44% I knew I was in for something dangerous. She was wet, unbelievably soaked and ready. I groaned again, picturing the way my dick could slide right inside with a simple push. “Oh, baby, there’s no denyin’ it now.” I pushed my fingers inside of her more and then started moving them back and forth. “Tonight this is mine, you hear me? Oh fuck, darlin’, I want this right now.”
Yep these two are definitely hot! I also love Noah calling shalan darling - it so hot! :D

46% “Because it might be the best you’ve ever had. Then what will you do?” “I was about to ask you the same question, cowboy. What are you going to do if I’m the best you’ve ever had? Have you considered that?”
I love that even nervous shalan gives as good as she gets! :D

48% He laughed again. “Can I tell you a secret?” “Yes.” “You give head like a champion, and act or not, that thing you did with your pussy was the fuckin’ hottest damn thing I’ve ever seen. I don’t want you to pretend, Shalan. I want you to spread those legs and let me fuck you, because you want me as bad as I want you. It’s your decision. I’ll take a cold shower and try again tomorrow if I need to. Say the word and I’ll get out of this bed.”
Oh Noah! I'm really starting to love Noah and shalan :D

51% It took one look; one moment to meet my stare, for him to stop. “Shit.”
Wtf Noah?! I really wanna love you but wtf?! I knew you'd stop but still?! I wanna say you were messed up about your dads call and that you hate what shalan might have to do but did you really have to go about it that way?!!

52% He wasn’t my Prince Charming after all, because there wasn’t such a thing.
Oh shalan :'( I've kind of forgiven Noah but he needs to work at my forgiveness! But prince charming aren't perfect shalan - the best ones are messed up too! :D if it was all perfect you'd never have to fight for it and then how would you know it was worth it :) <3

I knew that he’d been dealt an ultimatum he wasn’t prepared to handle.
Oh Noah :( I'm really loving Shalan though :) seriously colt?!? I hope he realises he's being an ass soon I love him from the first series but he's not acting like that colt -_-

55% I'd left Kentucky to find my place, and instead found her. I knew I had to go home, but the mere thought of walking away from such a woman was making me go crazy.
Okay maybe I'm starting to like/love noah again! I love that shalan can affect him like this :)

57% The moment I heard his manly moans I about lost it. Just hearing him react to how good it felt sent shivers down my spine, and heat everywhere else.
definitely love it when a man makes noise - so hot! :)

58% She’d never forgive me
Oh Noah! :( please talk to shalan - I know why you're doing this and I love you so much for it but shalan! I love her too! :(

60% Noah Mitchell
Oh that note :( please don't be too mad at him shalan - ring him! He has a good reason!

62% All I knew was that, at some point, I was going to find a way to see him again.
I hope so! I hope they're not apart too long! They're really good together :)

66% I heard the phone hang up, and knew that was her goodbye. I’d blown it, and there wasn’t anything I could do to make things right.
Oh :( listen to him shalan - I know you're hurt but he had a good reason! :'(

68% I closed my eyes and felt bad about being mean to him.
I'm so glad she finally listened to him n understood where he was coming from :D

70% “Well, that made a mess.”
THAT WAS SO HOT! <3 <3

71% I got close to her ear, so our parents wouldn’t hear us. “If this Kev wants to live to see another day, he’ll keep his fuckin’ hands off of you. Make sure you tell him that.” She punched me in my stomach. “You can’t control me, Noah.”
I'm looking forward to Christians book! She seems so quiet so I'm looking forward to seeing more of her and protective Noah :D

73% “I can’t get you out of my head, darlin’. The more I’m with you, the more I want.” I turned and faced Noah, finding his eyes even in the dark room. “I know,” I whispered. “We have to enjoy the time we have. It’s not like we won’t talk. I mean, you are my only real friend.” He brushed the side of my face. “Until you meet someone else.” I saw pain in Noah’s eyes, and for maybe the first time, I knew it was about me. “Don’t say that. I’ve never connected with anyone like this.”
Awwww! I'm starting to love these two!! <3

75% “Do you want me to leave?” He eyes were fixed on mine, waiting for an answer. “You know I don’t.” Noah ran his fingers over my pouty lips. “Then give me a reason to stay, darlin’.”
NOAH!!!!! <3

76% “You know, I can be a pain in the ass, I get it. You need to understand that I’ve lived your life, son. I see you makin’ the same mistake that I did. The grass ain’t always greener on the other side. That sayin’ stands true in every aspect.”
This is the colt I know and love! <3

81% “Dad, this is Shalan, my -.” He paused and winked at me, as if it were going to make me forget why I was mad at him. “My girlfriend.” My stomach dropped and I felt dizzy. He’d said no labels, but yet he’d just given me a big one, and I didn’t know how to respond.
Awwwww Noah! <3 please don't be too mad shalan!

83% “You think you can just push me away and I’ll go quietly? Woman, I don’t care what you say. I’m tellin’ you right now that you’re my girlfriend, whether it’s for seven damn days or seven years. I’m tellin’ you that I want whatever I can get for as long as it lasts. I’m not makin’ promises, but keepin’ it bottled up ain’t doin’ neither of us any good.
Love Noah saying it how it is! <3

85% “His daddy fell in love with his mother in less than a month. Don’t think it can’t happen. I’ve never seen two people more in love than I do when I see them together. That kind of love isn’t based on time. Just do me a favor and don’t hurt him. Okay?”
Awww love Noah's gram! <3

86% “I may never want to leave.” Noah turned his head and leaned forward to kiss me. When our lips met he held his over mine. After pulling away, he said something that I will never forget. “I may never let you.”
Okay totally in love with these two now! They keep getting better - once Noah knows what he wants he doesn't mess around - so sweet and amazing like his father! <3

87% “I don’t get what this has to do with me.” The story was nice to hear, especially since my dad was always a hard-ass, but it had nothing to do with me or Shalan. “That’s where you’re wrong. The way you look at her, the way you kept her a secret, that’s love. You can fight it all you want, but it’s for real, and it’s goin’ to rip out your heart if you let it.”
This is the colt I know and love! <3 <3

88% Right then and there was when I knew she was going to break my heart, and what was about to come next would end it all.
NOOOO! :'( I think this might just break my heart! :'(

91% “Noah, sometimes it takes a man’s sensitivity to win back the woman he loves. The sooner you accept that, the better your life will be. I’ve never felt more in love with your father then the few times I’ve seen him cry.
Tell him van! Tell him to not give up! <3

93% He answered on the first ring. “Shalan?” His voice, that drawl, made me immediately begin to cry harder. I couldn’t reply. I just hung up the phone without saying anything. I knew he could see it was me calling, but I still hung up anyway.
Oh shalan! :'(

96% “Noah, can you believe it? I think your parents knew. They watched you that whole time. Oh my god this is crazy. She’s freaking on stage singin’ to you. TO YOU! Holy shit!”
I love colt and van so so so so much!! <3 <3

97% “No you’re not.” He grabbed my arm and swung me back around. “It took you long enough.”
NOAH! <3 <3

98% I was going to give Noah my all, and if my career got in the way, I’d give it up in a heartbeat to make it right. He might not have known it, but he was my dream come true, and I knew my mother had given him to me.
Aww! Love these two! <3

100% I really enjoyed this book - I've had like zero time to read the last couple days but enjoyed getting lost in it this afternoon :D glad Noah got his HEA - looking forward to reading bella finally get hers and see what really happened with her and her ex :) 3 stars!

~~ 5 "Darlin'" Stars ~~

I know I say this with every Jenn Foor book I review, but I honestly believe Jenn Foor can do no wrong when it comes to creating a new book. Noah is no different. I was so completely excited when I heard she was creating a NEW SERIES with the Mitchell/Healy Clan. I have read every book in the Mitchell Family Series and I just wasn't ready to say good bye to that family. Well thankfully I don't have to because Jenn has created this series about all the kids from the Mitchell Series.

Noah is Book 1 in this new series (That's because Noah is the oldest of the kids) Throughout the Mitchell Series we got to see Noah as a kid and then growing into a preteen, well in this book was get to see him at the age of 25. What I loved the most about this book was that even though it is built off the original series, it was a completely different story. It really felt like it's own book and not just a continuation. We got an original storyline, but Jenn added enough of the "Mitchell" aspect to help you connect with that old feeling from the original series. I will say that it was weird for me to see Savanna and Colt in different roles. I had to keep reminding myself that they were much older in this book ( they are in their middle to late 40's ) I also had a hard time accepting this new version of Colt. He was my favorite in the first series and I will tell you the way he was in this book was very different from his books. I think I was just shocked and wasn't expecting him to be like he was. I am glad to say that he got better as the book went on and by the end I felt that the old Colt that I loved had returned ;) As for Noah….I don't know what to think of him. I loved him but I have to say he did remind me more of Ty or Connor more then he did Colt. I felt that by the end of the book we truly got to see the Colt side of his character. I will say that every time he said Darlin', he made me weak in the knees. There is just something about a strong alpha cowboy ;) Shalan was an interesting character. She was both strong and independent, but in many ways she was broken and vulnerable. All she truly wanted was to feel wanted and loved and to be a part of a family. (Because her family sucked and she lost her mom at a young age) I loved watching her and Noah grow closer as the book continued on. They truly had so much in common. Their road to their HEA wasn't an easy one and they had a lot to overcome and work through, but in the end it made them both learn to love and appreciate everything they had.

Savanna and Colt played a big part in this book, which was great to see. We do get glimpses of some of the other Mitchells and Healys, but they really weren't a strong presence in the story. The only other character who played a huge part in this book was Bella. I loved that her relationship with Noah hadn't changed over the years. They truly were more then just cousins, they were best friends and were willing to do anything to help and protect the other. I loved that Jenn also set the stage a little bit for the next book in this series which happens to be Isabella (coming summer 2014) That book should be interesting.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the Mitchell Family Series or a fan of Jenn Foor. If you haven't read the original series, that really isn't a problem. You honestly could just start with this book as a standalone from the first series. Jenn does a wonderful job in filling in the blanks and how everyone is related to each other. My suggestion though is that you start with the first series so that you can really get a feeling for this family and its dynamic. You really need to see how far they have come!!!!

I loved the series leading to this novel! Words cannot even explain how EXCITED I was to read about Noah growing up and becoming an amazing man. Sure he wasn't perfect but it just took the right girl to make him change his ways. Shalan had someone who supported her and put her first before their feelings (DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT). I don't even think I had a chance to take a breath let alone put the novel down ... IT WAS AMAZING. The characters were relatable and I enjoyed the characters from the other series mentioned. To be honest ... I just want me a Mitchell Man (ANY OF THEM WILL DO), and what makes them so darn ATTRACTIVE is there country accents! I swear that every time the endearment "darlin" is mentioned my heart just melts.

the fact that there's a second book ...

I tried. I really, really, really tried but I can't. I'm not a grammar nazi but when you can't tell the difference between then and than, I feel smoke coming out of my ears.
Also, who calls a vagina "hot muff"? Even typing it makes me gag. That's as sexy as taking a dump. Now add cheesy dialogue and I want to forget the past few days so I don't have to ever remember that I read this book.

A new generation of Mitchells, and it was good to be back in the family, headed by Colt and Savannah. Noah, Colt's son gets this spin-off series started with a story about his doubts on whether or not he wants to follow in his father's footsteps.

While stewing on his indecision, he meets a lost angel, Shalan, who is talented and dreams big. Noah inadvertently becomes the catalyst to Shalan's new found hope and success, and in a New Adult let's see where this attraction takes us way, this couple eddies back and forth into love.

The plot had blindspots, so I wasn't able to really buy the mood of certain settings and characterization. Shalan is a singer, but the only thing that lent to that were lyrics in italics. This side of her character was underdeveloped. She fell for Noah quickly, and she didn't shy away from it, but she wasn't as charismatic as Noah, and she could have been. The only point where I "felt" Shalan was when she connected with Noah about his mother and connected with Savannah(his mother) herself.

As for Noah, he was sort of a derivative of Colt(bummer). I could see where Foor tried to make him different, but really, with the "darlin's" and the stubbornness, the apple didn't fall too far from the tree, except maybe Noah is a little wilder in the bedroom(LOL). However, for me, there's only one Colt, and I would have liked to have not compared father & son as I was reading; I even had a hard time at first reconciling the little Noah with all-grown-up Noah. There just needed to be a little more spark to get me on board.

All in all, it was a cute, but lukewarm start. Sadly, I don't see Isabella's book (the cousin) being any better, but maybe, later books that introduce other Mitchells, ones that weren't as focused on as Noah and Bella were in the original series, have the potential of being better.

If you like the Mitchell family drama, then you won't mind the read.

Happy Reading.

I've been a big fan of the Mitchell family series fan and I was really looking forward to this new series. I hate to say this but I didn't love it, it wasn't bad, but I didn't connect with it. First, the teenage cousins seemed really bratty and not really people I'm looking forward to learning more about. In The Mitchell series Ty is a prankster but his jokes are funny ost of the time. The twins just came across as bullies. Also, I don't like where Bella's charcter is going. I dislike weak characters that have a tendency to get into abusive relationships. It seems to me that Bella is headed in the same direction as her mother before she met Ty. I liked Colt in the first series but didn't recognize him because in this book he's a domineering unreasonable man that is not the same one I remember. Colt and his idea that the ranch is Noah's birthright and his only option for his future just rubs me the wrong way. When Noah and Colt have a big blowout, Noah takes off for a few days which is when he meets Shalan. Shalan is a true damsel in distress. She finds out her boyfriend and best friend are sleeping together behind her back, and in a moment of impulsivity she drives the boyfriend's car into a lagoon. In order to prevent his revenge, she just takes off with Noah to NY joining Noah on his big adventure. I find that a bit improbable. Who takes off with a total stranger on a cross country trip? Once they get to NY she catches a lucky break when she is discovered while singing karaoke. That is another event that is hard to believe. Noah starts the book questioning his path in life, but his father calls him after being gone a few days, gives him an ultimatum, and Noah just caves and goes back to the ranch, it because he realizes that the ranch is truly the right path for him. It seems to me like he settled. In the end he says that he realizes the ranch is his future but the way it comes about doesn't feel like it. I can't help feeling he's settling. I didn't fully connect with the romance between these characters and that is my ultimate problem.

Having never read the Mitchell Family Series I wasn’t sure what to expect from Noah, which although a new series – The Mitchell Healy Series – is still a branch from the original tree. So this book was like a blank canvas.

Firstly the book goes through the characters and the background, so, for someone like me it gives you a basic story of the history. Equally those who have already read these books can skip this part and go straight to the meat (so to speak!).

Noah is a young man who really wants for nothing, except his freedom. He feels as though he has been tethered to his family ranch business. Having been brought up at the ranch, seemingly to follow in his fathers footsteps, he feels it’s not so much of a choice as an obligation. His father never listens and after an especially bad argument he decides to leave to see what life could hold for him outside the ranch.

Shalan is in a dead end job, in a dead end town with a dead end boyfriend and no real family. Wondering what to do with her life and how she could get out of there she stumbles upon Noah, and so begins their journey together.

Whilst together they enjoy each others company; although they try to deny its anything more than ‘in the moment’. They make each other better people and ultimately they both realise what they want from life, but moving towards what they want and need means moving away from each other, and maybe not having their happily ever after with each other.

The book is a very easy read, something to shut the world out with or read by the pool on a sunny day. It has drama, sex and love. The arguments felt so real that I would find myself getting irritated on his behalf, and equally on Shalan’s behalf when Noah acted like a tool. I found myself welling up towards the end and felt like everything come together just right.

It would be a good 4 star book for me, a great escape when you want something that’s not too heavy and can lighten your heart and your mood!

I like how the story started.. Noah breaking up with her girlfriend, and his girl begging him. It was pretty exciting, but after that, It was just... BLAH!

I've read at least 2 novels from the Mitchell series, and one of the reason why I haven't read the other novels yet is because of the 'CHARACTER OVERLOAD' there's too much! It's not that I could actually remember who's who. The only character that I do remember was Savannah, the rest, I don't. The characters from the other novels kept popping up and I hate it! Well, at least this is not a multi-POV unlike Kelly Ellliot's WANTED series. In her book 1 & 2 it was okay that both main characters from the series had their own POV in each novel, but then in the 3rd novel, gahhh! it was just too much, I mean, fro christ sake! The main characters from the other novels should stay just where the heck they should be! There's no need for us to know what the heck they're doing with their life...ARGHH!

I just breeze through, and everything was just a blur. He left her, he called, they talked, she's mad, she texted him to get his address for some shit, then BAM! They're together again.... gah!!

This book pissed me off, then it got ok and I was kind of coming around, then it pissed me off again and just made me frustrated...

I feel like we grew up learning and loving Noah, and I feel that this book was a HORRIBLE representation of the boy we all came to know...

Shalan was just a different story and she kind of annoyed me for a good portion of the book...

At the end of it though, I am still happy Noah found someone with Shalan.

I’ve been a Mitchell Series Fan from the very beginning. The close family ties, the dynamics and the characters themselves have been the strongest draw for me. So as soon as I heard that Noah and Isabella (and hopefully the younger siblings) were getting their very own series I couldn’t help but feel excited.

In this book, Noah is all grown-up and I must say he sure has matured into one “fascinating” young man. By all means he isn’t perfect. Early on he exhibits this rebellious streak which I blame mostly on the rocky relationship he has with his father Colt. He also is conflicted with the direction his life is headed. Without a doubt he loves his family unceasingly and it seemed to me that he did accept his birth right wholeheartedly but even so he continued to wonder if there was something beyond the fences of their ranch.

It takes one heated argument for Noah to finally decide that he had to take a break from his life and this is when he embarks on a road trip that would change his life forever. He really didn’t have a plan. He left everything to chance and with that being said – he was destined to meet Shalan. Yet as much as he needed someone like her in his life, she needed him even more.

Noah and Shalan certainly did get off on the wrong feet and at first I thought the author wouldn’t be able to make this couple work but as the journey they took on together further progressed I could see that what they had was real. For Shalan, Noah was truly her hero and in return she provided him with a priceless gift where he came to realize how lucky he was to have such a loving family even if at times they didn’t see eye to eye.

For me, Noah wasn’t just about finding and falling in love it what so much more. Besides reiterating how important family is it was also about acceptance, having faith and most especially having the motivation to make your dreams become a reality.

As a Jennifer Foor (specifically a Mitchell Series) fan I enjoyed this book tremendously and I can not wait to see how Bells and the rest of the siblings each get their HEA.

I loved Noah, "it's takin' all of my willpower not to take you upstairs right now and eff the sh** out of you, woman. I ain't even goin' to lie about it. That right there just made my di** hard." He is not one to be easily embarrassed or is he self-conscious which shocks the hell out of Shalan:
When he opened his eyes it startled me. I turned away even though I knew he'd caught me. "You still up?" He stood and walked into the bathroom, not even closing the door when he started to urinate.
"I went out." I started removing my shoes and watched as he walked back to the bed.
"Guess you didn't get mugged. That's always a good thing." Right in front of me, in between the two beds, he dropped his jeans. Standing there in only his boxers, he let me take him in before smiling and climbing back into bed.
Noah is sweet in his own charming way, "I want you, and I don't give a damn if this is your first time, or your ten-thousandth. I still want you. Now climb back on top of me and quit that cryin'. The only time you should be cryin' is when you're callin' out my name." I loved the banter between Shalan and Noah it was just cute:
"I don't have to keep this ring, Noah. We can get something smaller."
"Woman, I had to sell my left nut for that ring. You're keepin' it."
"I saw your left nut this morning, you big fat liar."
I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Noah: A Mitchell Healy Series By Jennifer Foor

Noah was running from a lifetime of expectations and someone choosing his life for him.  He came from a tight night family and a strong minded father who wanted him to take over the family business whether he wanted to or not.  Shalan was a bartender in a tiny town, running from a cheating ex-boyfriend and a life of abuse from a drunkard father.  The two come together at a time when they could both use a friend and the chemistry ignites.  Shalan discovers a lifelong dream is within her reach and Noah realizes that family is worth more than he ever knew.  Along the way the two discover that what started as a simple need to escape, and the comfort of a stranger turns into much more than that.

Jennifer Foor does an amazing job of reeling the reader into the Mitchell family dynamic and creating amazing chemistry between Noah and Shalan.   I was rooting for them throughout the story, hoping the two crazy kids would be able to figure out their lives and find each other.   She brings the reader not only into the story of Noah and Shalan but also into the history of the Mitchell family and how they work as a whole.  She has created an amazing family full of great characters and back stories, definitely pulls you and makes you want to read more Mitchell books.

A truly amazing and easy read.  I hadn’t read any of Jennifer’s books before this but will definitely be adding her to the author’s to look for.

I am a big fan of The Mitchell Family series, however, I did not enjoy this one. Colt is by far my favorite in this entire series and I did not like how he was being potrayed. I don't know maybe I just don't want to read about Noah being so grown and doing grown things. Did not like where Bella was heading in this one. Reminded me too much of her mother and given how much Ty loves Miranda and he has been there since her birth how could she be ok with being treated or settling for less. She is daddys little girl she has seen how a man loves and treat is woman (esepcially being around Colt and Ty). She knows what it looks like to be loved. I think I might have to skip this new series with the kids and just re-read the older version except for the one about Heather. Don't think she had any redeeming qualities. JMO

Everything about this book was not really something I expected.

THat doesn't necessarily have to mean a bad thing, at least it wasn't predictable.

So the Mitchell- Healy family is not all happy ever after I thought it would have been. The twins that Tyler and Miranda had are a real trouble maker. Not in the most wonderful way. I can honestly say that there is no family love between Noah and the twins, at least now there isn't.

Isabella honestly reminds me of her mother, picking up assholes. Though I realize that Miranda has a much better excuse to try and pursue her ex than Isabella.

Noah and Shalan don't have instant love. It wasn't a gradual slow love either.

But I don't feel the chemistry that the other couples in the series had.

Next gen!!

The next generation of the Mitchell family is here and I loved book one!! Noah was Colt and savannahs son, who meets shalan while both of them are lost and trying to rediscover themselves. Their journey is rough, and they have more of a frenemies bond than anything but else!! I can't wait to jump into the next book!

For us Mitchell lovers, when we (Kayla & Kristy) found out J4 was writing Noah's books we were very excited. Noah Mitchell is all grown up! He's just like his daddy, dark hair and green eyes. You Colt lovers are going to be swooning for Noah. We are both team Colt and Noah takes after his father. He will have you swooning).

Working on the ranch just isn't cutting it for Noah, it's all he's ever known but working with his dad is wearing thin and wondering if there is more out there, something else he could do or experience is never far from his thoughts. When his cousin Isabella (Bells) comes running to him again with another boy problem he is there to help her through her crisis. Noah and Bells have been close their whole lives and as adults there bond is stronger than ever.

When the Mitchell-Healy family all get together these days it's a huge gathering, getting together on the Mitchell ranch for a surprise party turns out to be very eventful...

"Uncle Ty was a crazy man. Growing up he’d taught me how to be funny, mischievous, and also that no matter what I did, there’d be a time to grow up and be responsible."

Colt’s mischievous cousins are exactly like their father Ty. With the bad mood Noah is in, this was the icing on the cake. After the twins were caught picking on his younger sister Christian, he comes up with a plan to get them back. Colt is not happy with Noah's actions and has words with him. Noah has had it and is now at boiling point. After yet another conversation and choice words Noah finally stands up to Colt and tells him what's been on his mind.

Colt has always been a hard man but always with the best intentions for his kids. His family is his life, nothing is more important. Noah's words have pushed him too far and he's told Noah to leave. While it breaks his heart to watch his mother, Savannah breaks down, he is determined to go and find a life for himself. Not sure where he is going, he starts driving until he sees a remote bar for a beer and a meal.

Sitting down for a meal and a few relaxing drinks turns into having shots, he notices the bartender in baggy clothes and a baseball cap hiding her face from his view. He can't help but watch her.

“Here you go. Two shots of whiskey.”
I looked down and noticed that there were three. “Um, there’s an extra one here.”
“Oh that one’s for me.” She picked it up and held it out in front of me. “Here’s to assholes that hold us back from our dreams.”
I almost spit the whiskey across the room. Her toast hit so close to home, but I knew she couldn’t possibly know what I was going through."

Shalan has been dealt a shitty hand in life, her father is nonexistent and a dick since her mother died. Fed up and no longer wanting to put up with her jerk of a father she connected with an uncle she didn't know she had. Working at her uncle’s bar on the anniversary of her mother’s death she is left to close the bar by herself. It's not the best night for Shalan her douche boyfriend hasn't returned any of her calls or been to see how she is and she's stuck closing the bar.

Her night isn't so bad when in walks a tall dark gorgeous stranger with the most amazing eyes.

"I approached the customer and noticed that his eyes were drooping. Where he’d worn a frown before was now replaced with a cool smile. His white teeth were perfect, and I almost wondered if they were fake. Though he was wearing a hat, I could tell he had thick dark hair. Then there was those eyes. My god, I’d never seen green eyes like his before. “You comin’ over for another round, darlin’?”
His words…
That accent…"

No man had ever made her feel the way this stranger had, not even her sorry excuse of a boyfriend.

Closing up and ready to head home her car doesn't start and she relies on this stranger for help. Driving his truck home she notices two familiar cars out in a deserted carpark. Opening the door to the car that she is familiar with, she finds her boyfriend and best friend in the throws. Hurt and pissed off she seeks revenge. Once again this stranger is at her side and offering to help. Little does she know this stranger she now knows as Noah Mitchell is about to help her in more ways than one...

Noah and Shalan end up in NYC sitting in a hotel having dinner and drinks chatting like old friends. Before Shalan knows it she hears a voice singing she just can't look away from, It's Noah, she is up next singing karaoke. Blown away by her beautiful voice Noah is captivated by her. Shalan’s dreams are about to become a reality.
Watching and seeing Shalan sing on stage is a huge turn on for Noah the sexual chemistry is hot!

When Shalan finally gives into the temptation and sexy banter she is blown away. Noah's cocky comments weren't cocky at all every comment was true. Shalan is starting for fall for this caring and attentive man, no man has ever treated her the way that Noah has. All this is about to change after Noah receives a phone call from home and Shalan sees a side of Noah that scares her.

Noah is torn, missing his family and life on the ranch, but the thought of not seeing Shalan again is making him feel things he's never felt before. When an opportunity knocks will he accept it? Or is his life on the ranch and his family more important than spreading his own wings and finding another path?

“Whatever. Just know, you ain’t gettin’ into my pants on this trip. I’m tryin’ to get focused and pussy will just mess me up.”
“Did you really just say that?” She looked appalled.
“Yeah. I know how women look at me. Stop actin’ like you’re so shocked. It’s human nature. It’s like how you were given a beautiful voice. I was given this face. Don’t act like you haven’t noticed.” I was cocky. Some may say that I was being an asshole.

While Noah loves spending time with Shalan his family always comes first and he heads back to the ranch leaving Shalan to question everything they've been through in such a short time.

With their lives going in separate directions it's time to let go of one another, letting go of something that felt so right isn't that easy!

With Shalan’s dreams becoming a reality she pours herself into her work in NYC. Back on the ranch Noah is dealing with Bells and his parents, being away from home really puts things into perspective.

"My mother walked over and put her hands on my dad’s shoulders. He reached up and touched one of them, turning to give her a reassuring smile. “It’s fine, darlin’.”
When he called her that it made me think of Shalan. At first she’d hated when I called her that, but I’d learned it from my father. He’d always called my mom that, out of respect and love".

Picking up the phone and taking a chance Noah calls Shalan, even on the phone the chemistry between these two will leave you needing a cold shower! Worlds apart the two know remain friends with benefits both knowing deep down there is more to their relationship. How can they ever be a couple when she is in NYC living a jet setting life while Noah is living life on the ranch?
When Shalan comes out to the Mitchell Family ranch she is blown away, this isn't some farm it's almost a little town. Shalan loves life on the ranch as well as Noah's family.

Kayla- I was smitten with how Noah showed his affection to Shalan.

“I can’t get you out of my head, darlin’. The more I’m with you, the more I want.”

Will their lives that are so different keep them apart. Could Shalan have the life she wants both ways, her singing career and the love of the simple life, not only simple but the large family life that he has to offer, the one thing Shalan has always wanted and never had.

Kristy - l loved these words spoken from Savannah to Shalan referring to Noah. "When our family loves, we love big, and we love forever.”

Noah is the first installment of the Mitchelle-Healy Series and what a way to start a new series. This was an amazing story of two lost souls falling in love, one offering what the other had always wanted. We cannot wait for the next book “Isabella” coming Summer 2014. Bravo Jenn on another amazing book.

I started reading Noah right after I finished with the last book in the Mitchell Family series & I was kind of weirded out because I still saw Noah as a kid but as I kept reading, I pushed that aside & got it through my head that he was in his 20’s now. This was such a good book. Noah was due to take over the Mitchell Ranch but he didn’t want to. Well, at least that’s what he thought. He loved his family but he needed some space. He & his dad butted heads one night & Noah left. On his travels, he met Shalan. She was a feisty one but they ended up taking a trip to NYC together. What started out as some kind of friendship, lead to something more but they were too stubborn to acknowledge it. There were so many crazy things that happened on their trip together. It was fun, emotional, funny, sensual & sexy. Getting close to the end had my heart beating faster. I wanted to hurry & finish reading but yet I didn’t want it to end. I didn’t think Jennifer Foor could keep blowing me away after such an awesome job with her Mitchell Family series, but she did just that. I can’t wait to read Bella’s book.

I was pulled into this story right from the get go, which is where I stayed until I had read every single word that was written. At the same time I had my mini movie playing along in my head. Love it when that happens.
Emotions run rife through this book, I went through each and everyone of them along with the characters. I have to admit though, there was a character or two I really wanted to punch, but they redeemed themselves before the end of the book. I might of cried once or twice, so if you are anything like me you might want to make sure you have tissues on hand.
There are surprises throughout this story, some you may see coming, where others you won't. Some are large while others are small, some of the surprises may hit you square in the face, where others may pull on your heart strings. But each and everyone of them holds equal importance within the book.
I have read this book on more than once and have enjoyed it each and every time, even cried at the same places.
I highly recommend this book and this author.

Noah Mitchell didn't want to be tied down to no family farm, he just thought there was more to life than that. So after a fight with his dad he leaves and heads out on the open road with no place in mind. That's how he ends up in bfe meeting a spitfire who would forever change his world.

Shalan has faced heartbreak before, after loosing her mom at a young age and her dad and brother not being in the picture. And now a cheating boyfriend. She had no reason to stay in town. When the good looking cowboy offers her a ride she didn't know what she got herself into.

The 2 spend an incredible time together but having a cousin back home in trouble and a family that needs tending to Noah knows the trips short lived. He was suppose to go to a singing contract agreement with shalan but instead left her alone. She vows to be done with him. Over time she can't seem to get this certain cowboy out of her head.

I am so ridiculously in love with this cowboy! Noah stole my heart within minutes of meeting him. No, he’s not perfect. He hate’s his job and the plan for his life that has been laid out for him, without regard to his wishes. He just needs to get out and discover what it is that he wants to be when he’s grown up, especially now that he’s grown up.

Noah has one of those big, loud and obnoxious families. Some members you want to smack, some you want to embrace. But no matter what you want to value what they have as a family. They treasure their moments and they treasure one another. The hold to their places in the family and no matter how angry they get, home is where their family is.

But Noah just wants a chance to figure out who he is. He wants to know if there is life outside of the fences of the ranch. He wants to be who he wants to be and not who he is expected to be. Taking the opportunity that he has been given, he does just that. What he doesn’t expect is what he found.

Running from his life, he finds himself in a small town at a local place to catch a bite to eat, but when things get crazy for his waitress he knows he can’t leave her alone. She needs help, he is there. He will help Shalan. Together they embark on a journey that will change everything. Not only will things change for Noah, but for Shalan as well. Some may call it destiny, some may call it fate, I call it beautiful. These two just are so imperfectly perfect for one another, even if they are not willing to admit it.

Shalan has had her fair share of crazy in her life. She just wants to start over. But if Noah leaves, she knows she will be on the first bus back to a town that didn’t want her. Her dreams are bigger than the town she was escaping. Held deep inside, she knew that she would never be anything… until Noah.

Noah guided Shalan as much as he was guided. Now, I am not saying that Noah was a perfect gentleman. I think his mouth was anything but gentle, but his heart was pure and he always had the best of intentions, especially where Shalan was concerned.

But no one is ever as perfect as they seem. When things shift and change, these two are forced apart. Unable to explain it to themselves or anyone, the chemistry was there, but they were in two different places. Noah’s family needed him, Shalan was daring to believe in her dreams. Can they find their way back to each other or is something, once lost, gone forever? Can she understand his reasons and accept him for who he is or will it be too much?

This book was fun, flirty, a tad bit dangerous and full of family crazy! I loved every minute of it. I loved Noah’s smart mouth, Shalan’s shy ways. I loved that when they were together things just ignited, sometimes good, sometimes bad. I loved the journey. It was a crazy ride and it was worth every moment. The characters just captured my heart and it was such a great reminder that even though they may be crazy and extreme, family is the most important thing in your life.

Noah and his story just stole my heart and I don’t think I want it back anytime soon. Jennifer Foor does an amazing job and I cannot wait for more of this series! Well written and well told, this is a 5-star read without a doubt!
