Orange Camo and Hot Dish: More Stories from Life in Wisconsin

Rate this book
Wayne Larson is back, and he’s ready to dive even deeper into the soul of Midwest living. Orange Camo & Hotdish brings you more laugh-out-loud tales and cozy memories from America’s heartland, where folks wear blaze orange as a fashion statement, and hotdish is as much a tradition as Sunday church. With humor, warmth, and a touch of nostalgia, Wayne explores the quirks, customs, and downright eccentricities that make life in the Midwest unforgettable.

Orange Camo & Hotdish is packed with stories of family gatherings, community potlucks, and winter mornings so cold you have to double up on mittens. From the annual “orange army” of deer hunters trekking through snowy woods to the art of bringing the perfect dish to the church supper, this book celebrates the everyday moments and larger-than-life characters who make the Midwest truly unique.

I read the first book in this series - Grillin’ In Da Blizzard and wanted to move on to this volume. I like it better than the first. Less repetition than the first book. Being a native ‘Sconnie, it does bring back memories of home.

14 steps to Wisconsin Good Bye? Seems about right.
