It all started with an interview and the need to start over again.
I'm always early…and usually, that's a good thing. Unless you find your maybe boss in a compromised position with a blonde on his desk - his eyes locked on you.
What would you do?
Run as fast as you can from the building? or sit down and wait your turn like a good girl?

Publishers Mafia Rules is a dark romance stand-alone book that some may find triggering.
Eve and Ash’s story : states it’s a mafia romance , not too many mafia components. FMC was childlike and immature at times . The steam was good . MMC sometimes gas lit the FMC and was sometimes all over the place . But overall a decent story
Okay, let's dive into my thoughts on Tanya Wingate's "Mafia Rules."
This was my maiden voyage into Wingate's world, and while the story and plot had a definite pull, I'm left with a slightly mixed bag of feelings, eager for more but also wanting a few tweaks.
First off, the central premise was engaging, hooking me in from the start.
However, given the title, I was craving a deeper dive into the gritty underbelly of the Mafia.
While the romantic elements were certainly present, I yearned for a more pronounced "Mafia feel" – maybe more complex power struggles, strategic maneuvering, or even a glimpse into the everyday realities of that world.
Now, let's talk about Eve, the female main character. While I appreciated her spirited nature, there were moments where her immaturity peeked through a little too brightly.
Those "break-up" scenes with Ash? Let's just say my eyes did a bit of a workout. It felt a little repetitive and, at times, undermined the gravity of the situation.
Speaking of Ash, the male main character, well... let's just say he delivered on the promise of smoldering intensity. He was definitely a highlight, bringing that alpha male energy that you expect in this kind of story.
The pacing, though, felt a little rushed at times. I would have relished the chance to linger longer in certain scenes, to really soak in the atmosphere and allow the relationships to breathe.
A bit more expansion in those key areas would have elevated the overall experience.
Ultimately, "Mafia Rules" left me wanting more, and in a good way! It's a story with potential, a spark that could ignite into something truly captivating.
And the biggest question burning in my mind? Is there a sequel on the horizon?
I'm definitely curious to see where Wingate takes these characters next and how she further develops this world. I'd be happy to go along for the ride.
Today is a "Mafia rules" day! I have just finished reading this book of @tanya_wingate_author that I want to thank for the collaboration. What can I say of Ash and Eve.... explosive and hit by love at first sight! However something complicates more than expected the love story... he belongs to a mafia family, with a more than authoritharian father, and a surprising return of his old cheating fiancee. Eve, on the contrary, is a very simple soul, trying to rebuild her life after the end of bad relantionship with a drunk man, and her insecurity could be a problem against the very attractive and fierce Ash' s ex! ⭐️⭐️⭐️,75/5 Waiting for the other mafia kings 💣💣💣
I wanted to love it! This book was very fast paced and steamy. Unfortunately the story just fell flat. the mfc was very immature and it reminded me of a high school relationship breaking up every two seconds. THe mmc would gaslight her on things. This is supposed to be a mafia book. Where are the descriptions of what the family does in the mafia. There was barely anything. When it came down to eve seeing her ex again it was very anticlimactic. This book had so much potential but the story was just missing too much.
Mafia Rules is Eve and Ash's story and it's quite a journey by this new to me author. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters (except Ash's father and Sasha). There were times Eve was a bit bratty and at other times she gave in way too easy. but by the end she kinda grew on me. Ash struggles to find his place in his family and how he can blend his life with Eve and the disaster of his family. Overall this was a good read and I'm anxious to see what this author brings next.
I read this as an ARC. I’m a sucker for mafia romance and this did not disappoint. I was rooting for the MCs throughout the book. Reading the end took some time because I had to read through my tears. lol I loved this book. I want to know more about Hardy. Hopefully he will have a book.
