Despite her dark past, Madeline finally had her life under control. She was a successful New York journalist. That was until her best friend was kidnapped for ransom.

She thought she could outmaneuver the kidnapper. After all, she was an investigative journalist, top of her field. She could find out almost any information that she wanted. Madeline considered searching for the true identity of a kidnapping computer avatar a task she was more than capable of. She thought she could set her friend free.

That was until she discovered that she was dealing with one of the most mysterious and powerful families on Earth.

Ciaran LeBlanc was considered a revolutionary in the pharmaceuticals field. He was powerful, viciously ambitious, and he trusted no one. Unfortunately, for Madeline, Ciaran held the key to information she so desperately needed.

Earning Ciaran’s trust was one challenge but the greater challenge lay ahead.

It was not a computer avatar she that she had to contend with. It was a hologame war. It was not a identity she had to expose, it was a five-century-old-secret. A secret that was the key to the past, and the future of humankind.

Within the secrets, greed, and hatred, Madeline also discovered love; that she was capable of loving. But this came at a cost - one Madeline never had imagined.

Outstanding!!!

I almost didn't read this book even after I got it because it said it was a trilogy. I am so glad I did. Now, I can't wait until the next book comes out. Read it. You'll be glad you did!

Madeline is being blackmailed and must unravel a mystery that leads to a family secret that Ciaran LeBlanc must protect at all costs but with a twist of fate they join forces on a journey that will change their lives forever in this intriguing paranormal suspense.

A steady pace and smooth flowing plot keeps the reader entangled in a mystery full of suspense, excitement, secrets, magic and romance. The author brings the story to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination and the well orchestrated suspense draws the reader deeper into the mystery with strong, compelling characters that grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.

Madeline and Ciaran may be attracted to each other and their passions burn hot throughout the story but the relationship is hindered by some emotional and everyday issues but mostly by the manipulative game someone is playing with everyone’s lives. Like a jigsaw puzzle that needs to be put together, every bit of information leads them somewhere but without seeing all the pieces at once they don’t know what it means and the reader can’t help but get completely caught up in their journey as they fight off dangerous attacks, fit the pieces together and fall in love.

I have to say that at first I wasn’t so sure about this book and I sure didn’t have a clue where it was going but it wasn’t long before I was completely engrossed in the suspense of the story and of course since it is a trilogy, not all of the secrets have been revealed yet so I have to say the author and her characters have certainly caught my attention and I am looking forward to reading the next one and discovering all the mysteries both human and paranormal.

"She felt the heat of his blood on her hands. Blood spurted out from his open wound, pouring down on her hands, arms, and shoulders. Blood soaked in her hair..."
After only the first paragraph I was hooked. Pushed by curiosity I had to discover what this accident was all about. I found the book to be very entertaining and really good read as it is very different from any genre I have read before. There is a good flow between the mix of genres and the characters of the book. It is all about the discovery of the characters' true identity as they were living "a lie" their whole lives, not aware of being part of a bigger picture. Mystery, video gaming, and romance I thought were the most outstanding elements described in the book. The chemistry that is created between the main characters, Madeline a NY journalist, and Ciaran, a pharmaceutical company owner and, what seems to me, every girl's fantasy/ideal man, is electric and instant! This particular moments are describes in such as way that you not only see them as if they were a movie playing in front of you, but almost feel what the characters are.

She felt the heat of his bloods on her hands…And what happens next is a thrilling roller coaster of emotions. D.N. Leo has done an amazing job of capturing her readers’ attention, and from the first page you are immediately invested in the characters. I couldn’t put this book down; it was like visiting every form of reality an author can offer you. From mystery to romance…to science fiction... there is something in this book that every book lover will enjoy.
The story follows an investigative journalist, Madeline, who finds herself deep in a secret world after her friend has been kidnapped. Without giving the story away…To say that this book was amazing…would be an understatement. I cannot wait for the next installment...I highly recommend this book.

Reading "Virtuous Hustlers" brings you to a universe that will take you by storm. The author has succeeded in creating a story that is easy to relate to despite it being fiction. Further, the genres are tastefully blended together with hints of action, romance and science fiction without confusing the reader of the book's purpose. The characters are very well described and are easy to relate to. Madeline, an ordinary girl from New York meets the anything-but-ordinary Ciaran and the chemistry between them grows with every turn of another page. Together they are brought on an mission, which is bigger than themselves and are forced to reveal secrets and come to term with their past. I would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking a bit of adventure and action in their everyday lives.

I'm giving this two stars because there is a worthy story here. I'm giving this two stars because this book is in need of some serious editing. If an editor did review this book, they should be ashamed.

Where is the pride in ownership? Missing and misspelled words, disjointed time and space, flat characters... And on the reader side, I can only assume friends are providing reviews, or the lack of quality expected today is in serious decline.

I picked up this Kindle version for free, and it is worth every penny. If I had paid for it, I'd feel robbed. Hopefully this copy is an aberration to the rest of the books from D.N. Leo.

Tossing up between 4 and 5 stars for this one :) Decided on 4 stars on the basis that this is a first book of a trilogy.. (and the grammar needs attention!) if the rest keep up the good work I'll amend this rating! I loved this book.. what a wonderful mixture of mystery, romance with some sci-fi thrown in to the mix.. Looking forward to the rest of the trilogy - Just don't let me down!!!
