Cherringham #46

In Good Faith

When the treasured 15th century Cherringham Chalice is stolen from St. James, it looks at first like the work of a professional gang, robbing local churches. But Jack and Sarah realise that there must have been someone on the inside, helping the thieves - and they start to investigate. Can it really be possible that a member of the church council is guilty? Soon Jack and Sarah discover that even in this world of trust and faith there can be secrets, lies ... and real danger.

Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid-90s, creating innovative content and working on major projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and the best-selling mystery series Cherringham. Their latest series project is called Mydworth Mysteries.

It's so good to be back with Jack and Sarah. This was a unique mystery in the series. I kind of figured out what was happening but I had a couple of guilty parties who weren't guilty of what I thought. Still, that's what makes a good mystery--you can figure it out, but you might not get everything right or they might totally trip you up with a red herring.
I want to say so many things about the story, but I really can't without giving things away.

Revisiting Cherringham

Each time I see another book for this series, It's a joyful surprise. The story may not be very long but it is time well filled. (A great escape) Always fun watching Jack and Sarah drawn into another case. I love their comaradory and ability to work so easily together, and with the people connected in their pursuits. They are "people" persons, able to start conversations with anyone and able to read weather or not it is a lie or truth or hiding something that is being said.
Keep on writing Matt and Neil. You add a lot of
Joy to my day!

This series is my favorite. Great characters and mysteries to keep the pages turning. More please. Jack and Sara can always solve them.

There were a lot of twists in this one and a pretty exciting climax at the end. I would love to visit Cotswolds! The ending was interesting and not totally sure whether I liked it all or not but overall it is more of the same from the dynamic duo of Sarah and Jack.

My preferred format is audiobook as they are narrated by Neil dungeon (Midsomer Murders) .

If you love Midsomer Murders, you'll love this.

Cosy Cotswold village setting with the perfect crime solving duo, retired NYPD cop Jack and Sarah, web designer and mum of two.

Loved it!

Another great 'case' for Jack and Sarah. It seems almost everyone in Cherringham has a secret and Jack and Sarah may have to expose a few to find who has stolen the Cherringham Chalice.

I've read them all. And looking for more.

Lukijana Neil Dudgeon.

The story was going along swimmingly until at 98% Sarah and Jack made unilateral decisions about the criminals facing consequences, without consulting the lawyer or law enforcement! In fact, the police were not included in this story at all!

These are pure comfort mysteries for me. I love the characters Sarah and Jack and all the other regulars in Cherringham. A good book to listen too when you clean the house. It gives you ”Midsomer murders” wibes. It is fun to try to figure out how the guilty person is. Jack is a retired cop from US, Sarah is a singel mom and they solves crime together. This one was about a mystery.
