Bridgette Musgrave has been planning on taking over the family business her entire life, but her parents have mismanaged it, and it’s in danger of being sold off to Arnette Assets, a giant corporation that might come in and steal the one thing Bridgette has been working toward for a decade.

Monica Arnette is slated to take over the multinational business based in New York when her aging father retires. It’s been her plan all along. Not part of that plan is to take a trip down to hot and humid New Orleans as a favor to an old friend of her father’s to buy some small greeting card company that Arnette Assets doesn’t need to add to their portfolio. Also not on her list of things to do is meeting a fiery redhead who doesn’t want Monica there.

As the two women are tasked with working together, Monica discovers that there’s more to New Orleans than her first impression. Moreover, as they begin to get to know one another, maybe, just maybe, Bridgette might discover that she doesn’t mind having Monica there at all.

This author is one of my gotos when I want to get lost in a story. This is the second in her New Orleans themed series. I fell for her first pairing of Kyle and Melinda.

This continues an extension of Melinda's friend circle with Bridgette. She is set to inherit her parents' greeting card company until they decide to sell it unbeknownst to her to a family friend. Queue said daughter of the family friend, Monica. She's slightly older than Bridgette with her own complicated issues. The tension and initial animosity between the two drives the story. I found this quite enjoyable and recommend this series as it stands. The next book should be out next month.

I really liked February. It was a bit spicier and had more longing than January. It’s an excellent pallet cleaner. It’s a bit of an age gap (13 years) and excellent banter between the two MCs and Nicole Pyland can write some really fun spicy scenes. This book features Bridgette, who we met in January and out-of-towner, Monica. Monica comes in to facilitate the purchase of Bridgette’s parents’ greeting card company. Bridgette isn’t super keen on that since she thought the company would become hers. There’s tons of friction at the beginning and that turns into banter. As is the case with this series, it becomes the local girl showing the newcomer the city. It’s about falling in love with the city of New Orleans as much as it is about Monica and Bridgette falling for each other.

There are some characters from the first book, but they don’t play a huge role in this book, so it could be read as a stand-alone and a reader wouldn’t be too lost at all. Quick and fun read, but I’m not sure I’ll remember either character for too long. Considering that I just finished the book and had to go back to it to remember Monica’s name. Still a solid read from a really reliable author.

I really enjoyed this book. Bridget and Monica’s chemistry was great, and I loved the pacing and growth of their relationship (other than the very fast falling in love part). I actually liked this one more than January, but the ending kind of dragged and was predictable.

As for the side characters, I thought they were okay overall. I really liked the way Noah was written because he added depth to Monica and helped show her as more than just a businesswoman, making her a more relatable character. I do wish there had been at least one meaningful bestfriend moment between Bridget and Mel. Bridget was going through a crisis with her family business, and Mel was nowhere to be found.

I didn’t rate this a full 5 stars because the ending spent a lot of time with Monica putting plans in motion for the future, but not actually doing anything. Since the ending was already predictable, it would’ve been more satisfying if it had gone deeper and shown that future instead of just setting it up.

Although I didn’t necessarily love the ending, Nicole Pyland’s writing was amazing as always, and I really enjoyed every moment reading. I’m looking forward to continuing the series.

I read part 1 about five books ago. As happens when you read a lot of books in a short time, I already had little idea what it was about. I refreshed my memory with the blurb of book 1 and enthusiastically started book 2.

Barely a chapter later, I was hooked again. That's always how it goes with Nicole Pyland and me. Somehow, she always manages very gently create a romance out of nothing, or even less. Very admirable. I was already introduced to Bridgette in book 1. I wasn't particularly impressed with her, but now she quickly captured my heart. The same goes for Monica. New to this book and rather uptight at first. But she became more and more likable as the story progressed. Really good character development.

The story was, of course, solid story. What's always so enjoyable, yet also a bit annoying, is that Pyland manages to build up the sexual tension effectively. She has the main characters, for some vague reason that you then end up going along with, want to postpone sex. When that sexual tension finally reaches a climax, well, all hell breaks loose, and the climaxes follow one another in rapid succession. And then, before you know it you're already done.

February, the second book in Nicole Pyland's New Orleans series, picks up where the first book left off, focusing on Bridgette's journey with a smooth transition between storylines.

Bridgette Musgrave (27) works in the family card business, and one she will take over one day.

Monica Arnette (40) is the soon to be CEO of a family business. At her father's request, she travels to New Orleans to take over a business that has had better days.

I found this a low angst easy read and loved Bridgette and Monica's story! The characters' fears and hopes, woven into their deeply relatable pasts, resonated with me. Familiar and new characters alike appear, bringing a comforting sense of familiarity. I’m also enjoying getting to know New Orleans. I can’t wait for March and the surprises this will hold.

I received an arc for an honest review.

Really sweet read without any unnecessary drama or arguments.
I liked both main characters, especially Monica.
I like all the side characters too but my favorite was definitely Jill.
The last 24% went downhill for me, that's why this isn't anything more than a 4 star.
I'm definitely going to continue with this series and other books by the author!

The second book in the New Orleans series, this being the love journey for Bridgette. We met Bridge in the first book, She is Melinda’s best friend. I did enjoy the first book but I think that I enjoyed meeting Monica in this story enough to say that they might be my favorite couple in this series so far. Love a good age gap story. Monica and Bridge’s relationship felt so nature. From the beginning with Bridgette being a brat towards Monica you can just tell their connection was going to be something special. I really hope to get more of them in the future. Feel like there is so much left to say about them!

February

The second book in Nicole Pyland’s New Orleans series did not disappoint. This book was an enemies to lovers, age gap romance that definitely had some spice to it.

In the first book of this series, we met Bridgette, who works for her parents' greeting card company and who wants to move on from her last relationship but is struggling to do so.

In this book, you get to see that Bridgette's family business is struggling and even though she expected to take it over one day and has all these ideas on how to improve the business her parents keep putting her off and figure selling the struggling company is the best bet for all of them. In walks Monica, who was sent by her father to purchase the card company as a favour to Bridgette’s family. This, of course doesn’t go over well with Bridgette, who deems Monica the enemy.

However, after lots of banter and getting over herself, Bridgette soon realises Monica isn’t the enemy after all, in fact with Monica’s help Bridgette is ready to show her parents that the ideas she has for the company are truly what’s best and to give her a shot. In the same way that Monica supports and encourages Bridgette, Bridgette also does the same for Monica in helping her realise she has just been existing in her current work/life roles since her divorce.

I loved that the fortune teller from the first book also made an appearance in this one as well and I hope she continues to make an appearance in the rest of the books as well.

Although I did find that some of the storyline did move a bit fast and some decisions were also made a bit unrealistically fast. However I do understand why as each new book happens in the following month. Overall, though, I loved this book and can’t wait for the next one to come out.

*Honest Review as part of Arc*

The second book in the New Orleans series. I'd classify it as an Enemies-to-Lovers/Age-gap type of novel.

Bridgette is set to inherit her family's Greeting card company but has to fight her parents and potential love interest when her parents threaten to sell the failing company to Monica's family company.
Monica goes to the city with the plan to buy a failing company and return to New York and her potential inheritance but instead falls in love with the city and the daughter of the company she's supposed to buy.

February is a good book. I think the timing of the narrative was good, the emotions of the two MC's were believable, and the romance was sweet.

It's one of the few enemies -to- lovers stories that I actually enjoy. They banter and make fun of each other in a comical way (that's the most believable part of the story honestly). Although it's mostly just Bridgette disliking Monica because of what she represents so she spends the first 1/3 of the book being passive-aggressive. Monica ends up helping her young lover rise up to the challenge of taking control and telling her parents what they've needed to hear for a while.

The age-gap took me by surprise because I don't think I've seen (read about) one that large before but it's not off putting.

(The first time the couple has sex is pretty spicy just a heads up.)

I was most excited at the return of the mysterious fortune teller from the first book. If she's in the other 10 stories, then this will be one of the best series ever created.

This is the second book in Nicole Pyland’s “New Orleans” series. I am very intrigued by the premise of adding a new couple each month and I love the idea of a group of friends that expands each month as new relationships develop. I especially enjoy the continuation of the romantic journeys of each of the couples as the year progresses. I’m a big fan of series so I really like that each story introduces one of the main characters in the next book and still checks in on the main characters from the previous book. This is a nice alternative to the sadness of saying goodbye to a couple at the end of a good book.

Inspire of all the positives, there were a couple of minor things that bothered me. I enjoyed the sarcastic banter between the main characters but it seemed so intense that I struggled to like either of them for the first third of the book. It was a relief when they finally started being nice to each other! I also found the romance very rushed as they they went from disliking each other to being hopelessly in love in just a few weeks. I realize that was necessary given the premise of this series - 1 new relationship each month- but it didn’t seem so jarring in the January book.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and plan to hang on for the ride throughout the year. Finally, I loved the fortune teller’s appearances and look forward to more of her in the upcoming books.

You met Bridgette as one of the gang of women who hang out together in New Orleans. Bridgette has always been a romantic, and she's always planned to take over her parents' greeting card business. She knows the business is struggling but it's not until Monica Arnette, daughter of the man who built and controls the multi-billion dollar Arnette empire, shows up to buy her parents business that she realizes how much trouble the company is in.

And you can't blame her for hating Monica, even if it's not Monica's fault that Bridgette's parents have run the business into the ground. But when Monica's icy mask cracks and Bridgette begins to see the real woman underneath that mask, sparks fly.

Yet Monica will be leaving in a few more weeks, to return to New York where her father is planning to retire and make her CEO of Arnett Enterprises.

Will Bridgette have her heart broken yet again? Part of Monica wants to go back to New York but part of her is insisting she find a way to say. And when that enigmatic fortune teller from book one appears on a sidewalk and tells Monica, "Yes. The answer is yes", Monica begins to realize what she really wants in life.

This was a lovely second book in this series and had me smiling as these two thawed and got closer.

After reading “January” I was hoping a book about Bridgette would be written because I found her to be relatable and I loved her. Add my favorite trope (enemies to lovers) on top of that and it became hard to put this book down.

I thought the pace and character development was great. Monica (who I also loved) and Bridgette had completely different backgrounds but it was written so realistically.

Also, I think one of my favorite things about this book was the southern culture. I have lived in the south my entire life and Bridgette taking Monica (a northerner) out for a real southern meal is exactly what I did when I had friends who lived up north visit. I especially got a laugh when poor Monica tried sweet tea and was not prepared for just how sweet it was. It added a personal and even more realistic touch for me.

Bridgette is feeling down as her best friend has found love, and she's still single. Worse, she's just been told her parents intend to sell the family company off, instead of her taking over as she always planned.

Monica Arnette, recently divorced, does not want to go to New Orleans to take over a tiny greeting card company, but her dad insists she deal with it herself. And due to various issues, she's late.

On first impression Bridge's mom seems pretty awful, and is willing to pretty much screw over their staff on this deal. The dad seems less awful.

Lily, Monica's ex, just kind of disappears near the end. There should gave been a wrap up call or something?

Good book. I liked Bridge and Monica, the son Aaron was cute, and it's nice seeing stuff from January carrying over.

I’m falling a little bit in love with New Orleans after reading the second book in the series from Nicole Pyland!

In book 2 we get to know Bridgette even more and see her fall in love with Monica. Things don’t start well for the two of them with Monica being in town to buy her family’s company…but the sexual tension is there the whole time!

You see two characters who have huge personal growth throughout the story…start seeing their self worth, start looking at what they want for themselves in life and not for the people around them.

If you want a low-angst and an eventual spicy romance…February is for you! You’ll also be wanting to book a trip to New Orleans after reading…I have a feeling I’ll want to go when this series ends!

Book 2 in the New Orleans Series, February, is a book you can’t miss. This story focuses on Bridgette who we meet in the first New Orleans book. It’s an enemies-lovers, but more so 1-sided. I’m not sure if Monica ever considered Bridgette an enemy. There is a lot of fun snarky banter through out the book. The thing I love the most about these two is how they absolutely complete each other. I don’t want to say they change each other, but they sure do help each other grow for the better. I like how we keep meeting new characters that have the potential for their own book in the future, and still get to revisit characters we met in the first book, like the mysterious fortune teller. This simply is an enjoyable, easy to read, fun series to dive into for a reality break!

An enjoyable step up

I liked the first book okay, but I liked this one a lot more. There was more plot, the characters had problems to solve, there was a character arc for both of them, and while it could have gone a bit deeper into that, the fact that it didn't was totally fine for a cozy easy read on a lazy morning. I enjoy low angst books with emotionally mature characters who know how to communicate. None of the tropey miscommunication pitfalls here, and no third act breakup. Just two women figuring out how to navigate their lives and their relationship in the face of challenging but surmountable complexities.
These books also remind me of how much I love New Orleans and always wanted to spend more time there. Perhaps I shall!

This book is a charming mix of romance, ambition, and personal growth set, the second book in the New Orleans series. . Bridgette Musgrave has spent her life preparing to take over her family’s greeting card business, only to face the threat of losing it to Monica Arnette, a corporate powerhouse reluctantly sent to acquire it. The fiery clash between their opposing goals evolves into a heartfelt connection as they’re forced to work together, uncovering unexpected layers in themselves and each other. While some moments are a bit predictable, the strong chemistry between the leads make it worth it. 4.5 from me, rounded up.

I enjoyed Nicole Pyland’s second installment of the New Orleans series. The reader can see the cast of characters building as they start becoming more and more familiar over the next 11 months.

I always love snarky dialogue, and this book is filled with it. The conversations between the two main characters will make you cringe and laugh simultaneously.

I loved the reappearance of the fortuneteller and look forward to hearing more from her as the series continues

This book is a great read that will leave you wanting more. Fortunately, more is on the way and I can’t wait.

It was great to get back into a Nicole Pyland book series, even though I hadn’t read January yet, it’s fine as a standalone too.

While I think I personally didn’t click with Bridgette as a character, I liked the banter and relationship that grew between her and Monica. It was good to get a bit of a feel for New Orleans too, and man do I want to try more hot sauces after reading!

Looking forward to the rest of the series - I feel Nicole has spoilt us all this year with a new book coming out each month.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

SUPER GOOD!

I like this idea of using months as titles of this new series. Nicole writes great stories that I always look forward to.

I spent a weekend in New Orleans once…I found out we landed on the moon when I returned home to Fort Worth, Texas after partying. I obviously had a lot of fun not to realize that momentous occasion had occurred.

Looking forward to March. I guess Jill will still be looking for a girlfriend for herself(?)

Highly recommend you read a Nicole Pyland book. I think you can read each one in the series and not feel like you should read them in order. Having said that that…I read them in order.

Have you ever felt like you were stuck in a rut and life would just be as it is. That's what it was like for Bridgette. Once she met Monica her life was changed in so many ways but the best way was finding her person. The one that completes her. This was a really cute story. Bridgette and Monica are adorable together. The way they banter back and forth, the way that it just seemed to click for them. There wasn't alot of drama and of course the happily ever after was chefs kiss. Another great book from Nicole Pyland!

Wow! February was soooo good! Are all 12 of these going to be this good??

Enemies to lovers in the best way and the banter between Bridge and Monica is top tier. I love that we got to read some updates on Kyle and Mel throughout this story too. Already told my wife this series is going to make me want to visit New Orleans but I finished this and started looking at hotels.

The way Pyland writes about New Orleans and how the city feels alive really sucks you into the story. Can’t wait to see what’s next in March!

Good book

February is Bridgette month. She is waiting to take over her family's greeting card company but her parents want to sell. Monica comes from New York with her family's company to buy Southern Hospitality. This is a enemy to lover book. They don't care for each other but try to be nice because of Bridgette parents when things start to change. Then there's the big question...how are things going to work out. Ever good ideas from both how things should go. Very good book. Can't wait to see how the next book turns out.

After the delight of my previous read, this had a lot to live up to…and it didn’t quite get there. It’s got a decent enough plot with city slicker Monica taking on a lowly job as a favour to her father. She goes to New Orleans and after a sticky start she finds herself falling for both the city and the daughter of the owners of the card business she’s supposed to buy. There’s minimal angst and drama with no big misunderstandings, which is slightly a blessing, but it means there’s really zero concern that it’ll all end up just as you want…I’ll keep going with this series but so far it’s not a patch on some of Pyland’s best eg. Fresh Start, Macon’s Heart etc.

I’m loving this new series of books by Nicole Pyland. Each month gets new mc’s that get their stories told and we still get to have the previous characters drop by. Bridgette definitely has some great ideas to help keep her family’s company, but her parents sure don’t want to listen to those ideas. I love how Bridgette and Monica fall in love slowly and how it felt like it sneaked up on them. They definitely deserve their HEA and what a wonderful journey to get there.

February just happens to be my favorite month of the year, after all I was born in February!

Nicole Poland has just made my favorite month even better! I am just enamored by the characters she is developing in this series. Monica and Bridgette are delicious together, their backgrounds so far apart, they just were made to clash! The love didn’t creep up it grabbed these two unsuspecting people and tied them in big knots! Yep, I love February!

Wow! I loved the banter between these characters. You have two people always believing they would take over their respective family’s businesses and finding out if that was truly what they wanted for themselves. Upon meeting they verbally spar but when taking the time to to get to know the other, they find they have some things in common, and they actually like each other.

I enjoyed this although I felt that it moved too quickly and conveniently with the major decisions rushed concerning both Bridgett and Monica’s companies, meaning unrealistically.
The treatment of New Orleans was done well, even the return of the fortune teller at Jackson Square! The heat level was smoking with some good scenes.

Impressed with this series so far. I love how each character has their own story but they intersect to a degree. Also love the not so common jobs the characters in this series have. It's always interesting to learn more about different jobs most people wouldn't think about. Looking forward to more in this series
