With just two days before Christmas, young Liam Byrne is caught in the act of burgling the wealthy Marchmont family home. Liam's wife Shannon is with no money, no hope, no husband - and their baby due any day. But from gaol, Liam claims he was set-up. As heavy snow blankets Cherringham, can Jack and Sarah do the impossible - find the real culprit and free Liam in time?
Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.
Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid-90s, creating innovative content and working on major projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and the best-selling mystery series Cherringham. Their latest series project is called Mydworth Mysteries.
This barely got a five from me. Because as much as I LOVED most of it, this is the second time in recent episodes that I've felt like Jack and Sarah are making choices that aren't exactly kosher. I hate to see the line between right and wrong blurred, despite how it might help someone who needs the help and ... yeah. Can't say more. Still, interesting story, lots of great twists. Fun friendship development. Interesting...
I highly recommend both series that this duo write. Love the characters in both series and they are quick reads but hold your interest from beginning to end. If you love a good mystery pick you won’t go wrong with either or both the Cherrigham or Mydworth series!
These book in this series is a must read. I have read ever book in this series and can't wait for the next one. I only wish the book was longer. Great writer, great plots, great finish every time. Thank you
Okay, I admit I cried at the end. And yes, I know it was mushy, but I loved it. The only thing that could have made it even better would be reading it at Christmas. These stories with Sarah and Jack are pure escapism. I can happily spend a few hours reading them.
Started off as an almost impossible case, with very interesting turn of events, all in a couple of days time right before Christmas. Love these novellas.
Loved being back in Cherringham for a short while. Great story, easy, fun read. Keeps your attention. Loved bringing everyone T)get her for the holiday.
Sarah and Jack are two of my favourite characters, who make the Cherringham books so inviting to read. This is a lovely story with a fabulous Christmas ending. I loved it.
Lukijana Neil Dudgeon.
