This motivational gift book shows with biblical wisdom that life isn't what you have, but what you make of the opportunity at hand. Patrick Livingston Murphy Williams was an American sports executive, who served as senior vice president of the Orlando Magic. Williams began his career as a minor league baseball player, and later joined the front office of his team. In the late 1960s he moved into basketball, with his biggest achievements being the 1983 title of the Philadelphia 76'ers and being a partner in the creation of the Orlando Magic.
It was good for what it was. It was not theology or anything but was about discipline from a scriptural basis. It was similar to what I could see myself writing but using more anecdotal evidence than I would. They did bring in philosophical and psychological elements though, although that was in the minority. It is the perfect book to give to many people beginning to think about these topics since it also has an overarching story. (Although it could use a lot more detail I think)
What a great book written about a man who was only in the Bible for 2 verses. The book is about the effect one man can have over many--the story is of how at any given moment anyone can rise above the norm and can achieve greatness.
Excellent, EXCELLENT book! It's very powerful, personable, and motivational. It helps us understand that we have something CRUCIALLY important to do in our lives and that we can actually do it! :D
