Aces High: A Memoir of Trauma Recovery & Emotional Resilience
My ACE (Adverse Childhood Experience) score is 6. That number—backed by decades of research—puts me at risk for over 23 serious health conditions, including heart disease, cancer, and mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts.
I didn’t want to be a statistic. I wanted answers.
Aces High is my story of surviving abuse and reclaiming my health. I explore the science behind trauma and disease, the legacy of generational PTSD, and the lived reality of disability. I reveal how sexual abuse and physiological trauma shaped my body—and how I learned to confront shame, rage, and low self-worth to begin healing.
This book is for anyone ready to face their past and reclaim their future. The body remembers—but it can also heal.

Real good book.
I enjoyed reading the book, show how medical professionals can be so wrong. And what trauma can cause to our health and bodies.

weird tangents and contradictions included
Won a copy of this through goodreads. Was interested in what looked to be an interesting dissection of psychology and sociology, but instead held many contradictions in the authors writing, and then went off on an anti- medical tangent that really had nothing to do with wha the author was exploring. Disappointed because I wanted to enjoy the research and discussion on some important topics, but couldn’t.
