The Daisy Chain Reaction

Rate this book
Sometimes, love doesn’t follow you out of the dark—it teaches you how to walk through it.A heart-wrenching Orpheus and Eurydice retelling about love, loss, and the bonds that refuse to break even after death.

Rose always thought she’d have more time. Time with her sisters, with the life she was building, with the world she loved. But time is the first thing to slip away.

Now, she finds herself trapped in an unexplainable cycle of waking and dreaming. Each night, she opens her eyes in an unfamiliar medical space she calls The Room, where a man named Charlie subjects her to strange, silent treatments. Each morning, she wakes with less certainty of what’s real.

In her waking life, Rose is a journalist trying to keep her grip on reality as her mind fractures between worlds. Memories twist. Time folds in on itself. Her sisters’ voices echo like ghosts she can’t quite reach. Desperate to return to them—to the life she lost—Rose must confront the terrifying truth of where she is, and what she’s become.

The Daisy Chain Reaction reimagines the Orpheus and Eurydice myth through the lens of sisterhood, disability, and resilience. Blending emotional realism with surreal suspense, it explores what it means to love beyond loss and to find hope in the aftermath of heartbreak.

Disclaimer: I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review of this book.

You will smile, your heart will race, and if you're a cryer, you will cry. I'm not a cryer, but I still felt it when this book stabbed me.

Light romance, fear-inducing tension, friendship, heartache, loss, happiness, devastation, hope. This book has all of these.

The Daisy Chain Reaction is one of my favorite books I have read this year. That's a year of reading that includes The Road, James S. A. Corey, the Red Rising series, Station Eleven, and many others. In spite of the varied genres, the common theme is that when I finished those books, I was happy to have been part of the world they crafted, and I kept thinking about the characters afterwards. It is the same here.

This writer pulled me in with rising tension and interesting characters. I loved the Deaf inclusion, and the friendship between the main characters was endearing. Anyone who has had true "ride-or-die" friends (or seen the camaraderie in their significant others' found family) will see the same here.

In terms of thrills, this story delivers. The "Room" sequences range from perplexing to chilling to intense and scary. As the story approached its climax, I literally couldn't put it down. People were interrupting me to ask for help with chores and the like and I would either quickly help or shoo them away so I could get back to the book. I had to get to the end and see how it all wrapped up, and it did not disappoint. It left me thinking about the characters and their fates long after I finished, which again, is a personal benchmark of mine for a good story.

It's also the kind of book that has a lot of little things peppered throughout which you may not catch the first time, and it leaves it up to you to think back and make all the connections, or to catch them on a second read through. Those little "aha" moments are very gratifying.

All said, I highly recommend this for fans of clean romance and psychological thrillers that pull you in and keep you on edge without resorting to egregious violence. Do yourself a favor and read it.

Reading this book is an emotional journey: your heart will flutter, panic, pound, break, and rebuild. It's the Daisy Chain Reaction—I couldn’t put it down.

Page by page, I was pulled into Rose's world, as the layers of her reality slowly revealed the truth of this nightmare. The relatable characters, representing various minorities and cultures, add depth and authenticity to the story, making it even more impactful. It’s an unforgettable journey and an absolute must-read.

I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review. Loved this book! I was so intrigued and baffled by the mystery of what was really happening that I read in 3 days which is super fast for me.

What I loved most was the real heart in it. The friendships and loves were very real and you really felt what the main character felt every step of the way.

Would definitely read another book by this author!

Okay, I just finished The Daisy Chain Reaction by A.C. Toy, and I’m still in shock. This book had me at apple spiced chai from page one and I could never have expected thetotal emotional roller coaster—one minute I was calm, thinking I had it all figured out, and the next I was gasping out loud like, ‘What just happened?’ The twists had me doubting everything and everyone. I’m so happy I gave this indie author that came across my ForYou on TikTok a chance because this story completely blew me away. It’s so good that now I have to buy a copy for my mom because I need someone to discuss this book with. If you love stories that keep you guessing and make you feel all the emotions, this one’s a must-read. But fair warning—you won’t want to put it down.

btw. I pm’d the author immediately after finishing bc I just needed to talk about it lol and she said there’s a stand-alone from a different pov coming. I swear time is gonna crawl from now till that second book is released.

This is the author's debut novel and she knocked it out of the park! This is a 4.5 star read for me. It just missed the mark for me to be a full 5 star HOWEVER it is better than a 4 star rating. The characters are great and relatable. I love that all the girls have their hair matching their names. Such a cute detail that just enhances the story for me. I love that she includes ASL for her characters (don't see that often enough) and Morris Code. Can't wait to see what she comes out with next!

The way I was turning the pages so fast because I needed to know what happened is so real it’s crazy! I could not put this down and found myself so invested in the story and characters’ world and lives. And even though I could kinda pick up on what was happening, I definitely did not gather the whole picture until the final page. A.C. I am so happy our little book club discovered you and recommended this book for June. I am completely blown away by how good it was!! And the format was perfect 🤌🏼 imo. Jumping back and forth like that realy kept me on my toes even more. Well done A.C.!

This book destroyed me in the best possible way. The relationships between Violet, Mei and Rose are just so endearing, lovable and raw. I fell in love with them. This book will get your heart racing, will have you shouting at the pages and then will leave you sobbing! This will now be added to my reread pile!

Update 7/30/25 - This is my 2nd time thru this book. First was a physical read. The second was via this brand new audiobook. The story only got better being able to HEAR the words of not only pain and fear, but the more powerful words of love and happiness. This is a fantastic book that I will come back to time and time again. I now own 3 versions! I hope that soon the author will release maybe a more in depth version with more American Sign Language/Deaf representation! You can tell the deaf community holds a special place in the authors heart. Which made the impact of this book even more endearing.

Original review Dec 2024 -I received a free arc in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a well written story. You can tell the author really thought about how to portray her characters to make them jump off the pages and into your heart. You can’t help but feel connected to them in some way or another. The DCR can’t be labeled under just one genre. It covers a wide variety of aspects that made the book a refreshing read.

The emotional aspect of this book will have you staring at a wall wondering how the author got into your mind and broke down your walls. All of us have felt lost at some point, and all of us need good family (blood or found chosen family) to help us keep going. These characters will give you that big hug you’re looking for.

The mystery aspect of this book was mind boggling. I had so many guesses and thoughts and couldn’t put the book down till I got my answers! And I was so satisfied with how it all worked out.

The psychological aspect of this book really makes the reader put themselves in the MCs shoes and gets you to really think about the history each of us carry behind our outward smiles.

Great read! Looking forward to more from this author.

The Daisy Chain Reaction is unlike any book I have ever read. If I had to describe it in three words, they would be: intimate, raw, and real. If you’ve ever loved someone who has struggled with mental trauma, you’ll feel an instant connection to Rose. Her journey is powerful and heartbreaking, yet deeply human—and it will stay with you long after the final page. I highly recommend this unforgettable read.

I give this book 4 1/2 Stars!!

I want to start by saying I received an ARC of this book. This is a new to me author and also the first true psychological thriller book I have read. This book is mainly about Rose. Throughout this book we get to meet Violet (her sister), Mei (her best friend), Thorne (her husband), and Cameron (her brother-in-law). Rose is a hard dedicated writer who works a lot. She has amazing family and friends. I could not put this book down. When she first when to “The Room” I wasn’t sure what to expect. The more I read the more I tried to piece together things. It was amazing how things worked out. When I figured out why everything happened I was amazed. I do believe I went through every emotion reading this book. My heart broke and I cried. Never give up on those you love the most. When things get hard that’s when they need you the most. This is a clean book which I loved. I can’t wait to read more books by this author.

This review is for my narrator Danielle Murray. We are in the final reviews of her recording via ACX and she did such a beautiful job bringing my story to life.

She perfectly portrayed Rose's emotions and internal conflicts. I just finished listening to the last few chapters of the book and I was sobbing.

I could not be happier to have worked and completed this project with Danielle..💖

First off I just want to say thank you to A.C. Toy for this book! It was such a roller coaster but in a good way!

This book made me have all the feels!
We follow our main character Rose who is a journalist and is a workaholic trying to make her way up in the business. She starts every morning the same going to the same coffee shop getting her same usual drink and seeing her BBFL (best barista for life) Sam. She sits in her regular booth until one day she goes into the coffee shop and someone is sitting in her booth. She tells him that he’s in her booth and to scram so she can make her deadlines for her job. This is the same coffee shop that Rose and her sister Violet have their lunch dates at. Her sister is deaf i absolutely love the deaf representation in this book it is done very well! This is my first book with deaf representation. (The author is hard of hearing and uses sign to communicate.) and we can’t forget about their best friend Mei! But Rose comes to this shop every day. But to her surprise she didn’t scare off this random stranger and he for some reason keeps coming back. Rose is determined to meet her deadlines and tries to convince her self that she doesn’t have time for a personal life but is that what is making her anxious? Or is it her dreams that she has about “The Room” in her dream world she is stuck in a place where she calls The Room with a random man she has no idea who it is. He has her hooked up to machines and she is paralyzed and can’t move any part of her body, the man in her dreams seems frustrated and she tries everything to make sense of these dreams but she just can’t figure it out. She starts to speaks her waking life trying to figure out where this mad is keeping her in her dream life. She looks up and down for clues but can’t find anything in the waking work that matches the dream world. One day in the dream world she hears about a murder right outside from where she is being held… did he do it? Did she do it and that’s why he is holding her? Read this book and find out for yourself self! You won’t be disappointed! I don’t wanna spoil to much for anyone because I believe that you should almost know nothing about this book going into it besides from what I just wrote here trust me it’s work the read! Rose is so relatable on so many levels. Trauma, anxiety, and much more. You can tell that the author put her heart into this book and loves to tell a story that people can relate to and relate to the main character rose and even relate to violet or Mei! I absolutely loved this book and I need to read anything else A.c. Toy writes!! I encourage everyone to read this but as always check your TWs!!! I have so much I wanna say about this book but don’t want to spoil anything!! Review coming to TikTok soon! If you wanna follow my reviews there!

I received a free arc in exchange for an honest review.

Get ready to be thrilled by "The Daisy Chain Reaction," an electrifying psychological thriller by A.C Toy! This gripping tale kept me on the edge of my seat, guessing every twist and turn. Dive into the world of two sisters and their best friend: Rose, Violet, and Mei. Rose can hear, Violet is Deaf, and Mei is their loyal companion. Their bond is unbreakable, and they communicate in ASL for Violet. Rose thrives on routine, visiting her favorite coffee shop, and settling into her usual booth to work. Life seems perfect until one day, everything changes. She starts experiencing massive headaches, blackouts, and losing track of time. She feels like she's losing herself, trapped in the "Room," unsure of reality. Told from Rose's perspective, the suspense intensifies as she investigates, meeting Thorne, who guides her through the chaos. The sisters' backstory is heart-wrenching, showcasing their deep connection. ASL is their first language, and Violet, though a side character, leaves a lasting impact. I adore how Rose emphasizes the importance of ASL, insisting everyone in her life learns it for her and her sister. The inclusion of ASL slang from Deaf culture adds authenticity and relatability. The author's portrayal of Deaf culture is spot-on, making it an absolute delight to read.

“You must promise to take it seriously and try not to butcher it. ASL is important to me and my family. It’s accessible communication, not a ploy to learn swear words in another language.”- Rose

"We had spent so many years isolated, trapped in a home where no one listened to her silent screams."- Rose

“Sometimes, I think it was a blessing that she couldn’t hear his words… it would’ve broke me if she knew the things he called her.” -Rose

I found myself relating to so many things Rose shared in this book.

The bond between them and Mei is simply heartwarming. This book takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, exploring sisterly love, a painful past, communication struggles, isolation during lockdown, and the suspense of unraveling the mystery.

Will Rose overcome it all? You’ll have to read to find out. Keep tissues handy for this emotional journey.

On a side note, I do wish there were a chapter or two from Violet’s perspective.

The Daisy Chain Reaction, released on January 1st, 2025, is now available on Amazon and included in Kindle Unlimited. This highly anticipated book captivates with its engaging storyline and well-developed characters, offering a fresh perspective and unforgettable reading experience. Get your copy today and immerse yourself in this compelling narrative.

I liked this book; did you? Blink once for yes, twice for no, and three times if you’re just trying to get my attention!

Disclaimer: I was given a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.

I put the book aside to read my book club book but I wish I hadn't. From halfway on, I was so immersed in the story, I couldn't stop reading.

The story follows Rose, a journalist that works out of a local coffee shop. Suddenly, it seems like Rose's life is gone and she is trapped in a series of time lapses. She wakes up in a space she calls, "The Room" and eventually, the boundaries between reality and The Room begin to blur.

The author is hard-of-hearing and knows and uses ASL (American Sign Language). At the beginning of her book, she added in an author's note that details why she has a deaf character, as well as explaining the ASL Slang words that she used within the book. I love how she incorporated ASL slang into everyday sentences. For example, Rose stated at one point, "That nap was CHAMP." Or when Rose and Violet were crying at Violet's wedding, Violet signed, "OK FISH" and that is how A.C. Toy wrote the sentence. She didn't add "Okay, we're finished with crying!" But just the slang.

I will say that only one thing that I would like to see changed - I would've preferred to see that ASL was represented in the dialogue in italics to differentiate between spoken English and sign.

This book is not just a psychological thriller. It is more. It discusses childhood trauma and how it affects you as an adult. It deals with the fear of needing psychiatric help and the shame and emotions you can feel. It deals with loneliness and feeling trapped. It has lovely parts of a new love, a stable love, and a love who tries for you. It has the sisterhood that you always wanted. And, it has the reminder to be present for you never know what would happen.

“What if I’m not me anymore? What if this has never been me?”
I absolutely recommend it and want everyone to read!

PS - I am a little annoyed that she made me cry... but I loved the book!

This book was not what I expected going in, and I mean that in the very best way!
It combines the best parts of a thriller that keeps you questioning your very sanity, and an equally intense romance that will both fill your heart and break it, almost simultaneously.

In this book you meet the fmc Rose, and you are instantly wrapped up in her loyal, tested and true friendships with her older sister and their other best friend. These girls are more than friends, they are absolutely each other’s safe space, backbone, family, and joy. Their dynamics are what every girl wants.

You also get to see Rose struggling to unbury trauma from her past, deal with deteriorating mental health and workaholic tendencies, and follow her as she begins to question if she is losing her mind, and at what point her nightmares are bleeding into reality.
The only things keeping her holding on are her girls, and her budding new romance with Thorne, a charming stranger she met in her regular coffeehouse.
You will be fully immersed in this story as you try determine what is real, and what isn’t, alongside Rose, and you won’t be able to stop turning pages until the very end. So plan to read this in one sitting!

Not only does this book explore heavier themes like mental health and grief and unexplored past trauma in the most raw and evocative ways, but it also have amazing disability representation and a strong emphasis on the deaf community, and how important learning ASL(or international equivalents) are toward being inclusive and able to communicate with a whole new community of amazing individuals.

I cannot wait to read the second book, and Rose will forever have a special place in my heart, as this author has created a storyline, and a main character, like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.

This was one of those reads where I kept thinking, I love what this is trying to do… I just wish it was easier to follow.

I didn’t hate The Daisy Chain Reaction at all. I actually loved the concept, especially the way it explores found family, love and loss, and healing through trauma. The story leans heavily into grief and how messy and uncomfortable it can be, and how everyone grieves differently, and that part really resonated with me.

The back and forth between timelines made sense overall, and I understood the emotional cause and effect the author was building. Watching these characters navigate loss, connection, and rebuilding their lives was meaningful, and the found family dynamic added a lot of heart to the story.

That said… the writing itself was hard for me to follow. I often had to reread lines and sometimes entire pages just to understand how we arrived at certain moments. It wasn’t the story that confused me, it was the sentence flow and transitions, which occasionally felt unclear and pulled me out of the experience.

Still, the themes really carried this book. The exploration of grief, trauma, love and loss was thoughtful and emotional. I just wish the prose had been smoother, because I think this story could’ve hit so much harder.

Overall, this was a strong concept with mixed execution. If you love emotionally driven stories about grief, found family, and healing and don’t mind slowing down to read, this might really work for you. For me, it was an, “I see the vision and appreciate the message” kind of read.

This book is astoundingly powerful in so many ways. The initial plot line alone is incredibly engaging as we see the MC slowly deal with the ever mysterious dreams she is dealing with, with a resolution that is both heart breaking but heart healing as well. There is tension and a little bit of a thriller that keeps your mind acutely engaged throughout the read. The characters feel so deeply real, with their love for one another, their interactions and dialogue and you feel warmth radiating off the pages as their relationships grow together. At its core, and with a few subplots, we see love in so many different facets, from deep romantic love, to the love of family, to what it is to truly live a life full of love with those around you and this is was so powerful to see in a book like this. The way the characters live fully in relationship to the MC's sister, who is deaf, is some of the most poignant commentary on what true relationship and life together is that I've seen in a long time and it was wonderfully and deeply written and I am so glad the author incorporated this so effortlessly into the story. It makes it so incredibly real and you feel it. There are a few twists and turns that pierce you throughout the story, and it is indeed a book you will want to finish in as few sittings as possible to see where it is going. A truly beautiful book that shares the deep pain that can come from love, but also the prevailing nature of that same love against all odds.

The Daisy Chain Reaction pulled me in from the very first pages and never loosened its grip.

This is a deeply emotional, tense, and immersive story—one that quietly wraps around you and refuses to let go. As the reader, you follow Rose through what appears to be her current life, alongside a strange and unsettling reality she refers to as The Room. From the beginning, there’s an underlying sense that something isn’t quite right, and that feeling only grows stronger with every chapter.

A.C. Toy’s writing is incredibly atmospheric and absorbing. The way information is revealed mirrors Rose’s own understanding of her world, allowing readers to experience her confusion, fear, and hope right alongside her. I found myself constantly needing to read “just one more chapter,” completely invested in uncovering the truth behind Rose’s story.

What makes this book especially powerful is its emotional depth. It explores love, loss, trauma, and memory in a way that feels both haunting and beautiful. By the end, the story left me breathless and in tears—not because of shock alone, but because of how thoughtfully and compassionately it was written.

This is one of those books that stays with you long after you’ve turned the final page. The Daisy Chain Reaction is a poignant, unforgettable read, and I loved it from start to finish. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Daisy Chain Reaction by A.C. Nightingale was a good read!

The story took a little while to grab my attention, but once the “Room” scenes began, I was completely drawn in. The suspense and eerie atmosphere immediately make the stakes feel high, and the plot twists keep you fully engaged as the story unfolds. That said, some parts felt a bit repetitive, with certain scenes echoing earlier moments, which occasionally slowed the pacing. A few sections also felt slightly predictable, though it didn’t take away from the overall excitement. This book might not be for readers who prefer a fast-paced story or who get impatient with slower, introspective moments, as it takes its time building tension and developing characters. Still, the tension throughout the novel is palpable, and the emotional moments hit hard. I even found myself moved to tears.

One of the aspects I truly appreciated was the Deaf representation, which is thoughtfully portrayed and adds meaningful depth to the story, making the characters feel even more real and relatable.

Overall, The Daisy Chain Reaction is a gripping and emotional read that deserves a solid 4 stars.

Run, don’t walk. You need this book. Coming from someone who has experienced her body and mind fighting her through every turn, I have never felt so seen in a book. The grief, the guilt, the struggle to survive, the want to give up, your mind and body betraying you…I kept it together throughout the book for the most part, almost brought to tears on several occasions but when I read the epilogue, all bets were off. I sobbed like a baby and though I’ve finished the book, I am not well in the head. I haven’t had a book hangover like this since Throne of Glass which is insane because I read books like there’s no tomorrow. Thank you. Thank you for writing this, for helping me through my own grief that I didn’t know I was still harboring, for making me feel seen and heard when I felt voiceless for so long, for inspiring me. But also screw you for making me fall in love with your characters and sob like a baby for what you do to them.

The Daisy Chain Reaction by A.C. Toy is a compelling and emotionally resonant novel that masterfully combines psychological suspense with heartfelt storytelling. From the very first page, the narrative draws readers in with its escalating tension, nuanced characters, and unexpected twists that keep the story engaging throughout. The "Room" sequences, in particular, are striking—ranging from unsettling to downright chilling—adding a layer of intensity that builds toward a gripping climax. This is a story that rewards close attention, with subtle clues and details that offer a deeper appreciation upon a second reading. A.C. Toy has crafted a remarkable work that lingers in the mind long after the final page, making The Daisy Chain Reaction a standout recommendation for readers who enjoy emotionally rich fiction, clean romance, and psychological thrillers that leave a lasting impact.

The Daisy Chain reaction is about Rose, a workaholic who is struggling with dreams that haunt her and seem all too real but put her in a body she doesn’t recognize with a man she fears caring for her. As the novel progresses, Rose loses track of time with her best friend and sister as well as with the man she falls for called Thorne until she fears the dreams are overtaking her entire life and ruining everything. But is that really the case?

W. O. W. Holy crap. I was sucked in by this read and couldn’t put it down but I did NOT expect that. It’s a beautiful story with amazingly detailed characters that have lots of reasons to love them, but Rose’s plight keeps you hooked right up until the major plot twist and long after it. I never would’ve thought that’s where this read was heading but it was an excellent and unique idea that I adore. Couldn’t recommend this enough. Amazing work.

The Daisy Chain Reaction is one of those rare psychological thrillers that pulls you in…and refuses to let go.

A.C. Nightingale pulls you into Rose’s mind so completely that it blurs the lines between reality and imagination. Rose’s experiences create a layered, disorienting mystery that keeps you questioning what’s real right alongside her.

The Deaf representation is beautifully authentic, the mental health elements are thoughtfully grounded, and the emotional payoff is powerful.

This isn’t a scary thriller—it’s an emotional one. A healing one. The kind that makes you think about life, love, grief, and resilience long after you close the book.

Just when you think you have it all figured out, the story takes a turn, with a plot twist that you’ll never see coming!

If you love emotional psychological thrillers that prioritize heart over horror, this one is truly unforgettable

3.5 stars for me. I look forward to more books by this author.

I had a theory early on in this book, and it was correct. But I stuck with it nonetheless. It reminded me a little bit of We Were Liars.

What I liked:

No spice and no language. Big plus!

The author shines a light on the under-represented deaf and hard of hearing community.

The author boldly yet tactfully exposes the reader to how a fractured brain reacts to severe trauma.

The medical aspects were well-researched.

The story was thoroughly told and nicely wrapped up.

What I wish was different: SPOILER ALERT

Even with her injured brain, I had a hard time believing that Rose didn't know who "Charlie" was despite his shaggier appearance.

Through tears 😭✨️

Still sitting with the ending of this beautiful book but I absolutely loved it. The way the atmosphere and mood changes as the story progresses is intriguing and keeps you wanting to know more. I was coming up with theories left and right only to be left with a beautifully haunting ending that will be with me for a while. This is not a genre I typically read but I am a fan of films in this genre and after this, I will be reading more. The majority of the book is both eerie and dark while still presenting a wonderful life with strong friendships and a sweet love story unfolding. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it to anybody especially if you enjoy psychological thrillers and books that rip your heart out in the best way.

This book was impossible to put down. I started it this morning. At first I thought it was going to be a sweet little Romance. But tonight as I sit here with my eyes burning from the tearing up they’ve done, I realize it’s much more. A. C. Toy took me on a journey today. I wasn’t sure where I was going. (At one point, I was imagining Science Fiction explanations for what was happening) Her beautifully flawed MFC drew me in and I rooted and cheered (later cried) for her every step of the way. While this story captivated and entertained me, I’m also appreciative of the author teaching me more about the Deaf community. I would recommend this debut novel to anyone. I only wish it had been longer.

OMG this book was so good I finished it in a 4 hour period, I just couldn't put it down!!!
The author more than delivers in terms of thrills, this story definitely delivers. The "Room" sequences range from puzzling to freaky to intense and some even scary.
The characters are so fantastic and well written. I loved that I felt like I was a part of the story the whole time!!
And the best part Just when you think you have it all figured out, the story takes a turn, with a plot twist that you’ll never see coming!
I would definitely recome this to all my book pals and I can't wait for the next book.
These are my true honest thoughts and opinions on this book. Thank You for allowing me to arc read!!!

This is a 4.5 star read for me, rounded up to 5. On the spice scale I would rate this a 1. There is some kissing, there’s definitely a romance, but it’s closed door.

The mental health rep in The Daisy Chain reaction is top notch. I could feel all of the emotions that the characters experienced. I’ve experienced my own mental health struggles, and the author captured them perfectly.

There were twists, turns, and so much that happened in this book. I can’t say much more without giving any spoilers, so I’ll just finish with saying I’ll be recommending this book to friends, and I can’t wait to read more.

This psychological thriller was heart-wrenching. It had me in tears. A.C Toy mentions in the beginning of the book that she is hard of hearing and incorporates ASL throughout the book, she takes the time to explain the slang. This book explores mental health, sisterhood, and the bonds that bind them. What happens when your mind starts to betray you and reality starts to fade? We all know there is still a stigma with mental health and how hard it can be to ask for help. This book was deeply emotional and raw. I loved it, I really loved it.
